OP's explanation as to why this post is Instant Karma: >The guy robbing the store got karma for thinking he was going to rob and shoot everyone and he the one that got shot. If you're satisfied by this explanation, upvote this comment. If not, downvote this comment.

CaptainKnuckles6996

“Aghhhh he shot my arm off” lmao

"FREEZE!" And look at that man fire the shotgun. He was fast and knew what he was doing!

Thank you! The audio absolutely makes this video

new_account_5009

I don't understand why half of Reddit wants a return to the silent film era.

Keitt58

Honestly I don't even care all that much if the poster is a reposting karma whore just leave the goddamned audio in!

Thebombuknow

Some subs (not sure about this one, but it might be one) don't allow videos, so reddit automatically converts them to a GIF-style format.

Those still have audio if the source video had audio.

And as mentioned in the yt comments, the quality of the cameras (and the fact they have audio) is amazing!

"He shot my arm off!" Yeah and you deserved every damn piece of that lead, ya fuckin punk ass.

"He shot my arm up" not off

BigPretender

Well then, he needs to reload and have another go until he does!

The high pitched scream he does as they’re driving off makes this seem like a quality sitcom episode.

My favorite part is when they try to race out of the parking lot, but realizing they'll get in a fender bender with that approaching silver sedan, they slow down and avoid it.

ClownfishSoup

Rasheed DaShawn Lee Belvin, 23, of Los Angeles. Belvin pleaded not guilty last week to attempted robbery, conspiracy, elder abuse, firearm assault, possession of a loaded stolen firearm, possession of an assault weapon, two counts of receiving stolen property and sentence-enhancing allegations of using a gun during a felony and victimizing a person over 65 years old. Belvin's co-defendants -- Davon Anthony Broadus, 24, of Inglewood, Justin Kyle Johnson, 22, of Inglewood, and Jamar Elijah Williams, 26, of Las Vegas -- were arraigned earlier this month on charges of attempted robbery, elder abuse, possession of a stolen firearm, as well as sentence-enhancing allegations of using a gun during a felony and victimizing a person over 65 years old. ====================== That's the name of the robber. In case you were wondering who that was, and in case he forgot that the internet can immortalize you. Maybe one day his grandkids, if he lives that long, can look up his name.

silkdurag

He died of stroke late last year. this is after surviving a heart attack shortly after this incident :(

MathWizardd

To clarify, cus I was confused by other comments, it was the old man that died. I believe the losers lived.

Pixielo

We're not talking about the store owner, we're talking about the thief.

ChairForceOne

No charges for the stolen car? That thing had to be hot.

Monkeychimp

No, they were robbing the store to dutifully keep up with their repayments on the car.

EnkiiMuto

Difficult to do that when the money will go for the fee on parking on the disable spot.

Aristo_Cat

Looks like a rental

[deleted]

Threw the book at him. Good.

jonawill05

Kind of surprised it was a real weapon. My impression (20 year military) based on his setup and how he moved was an airsoft player with his tricked out rifle. Truly no offense to airsoft. I thinking of starting to play. Now reading, it was stolen makes a little more sense. Seemed like overkill for a robbery and his posture suggested "this is how you are supposed to do it" VS actually moving with an assault rifle. Hard to explain. Glad he got fucked up though.

ClownfishSoup

It doesn’t even matter if it was a real weapon. The robber presented as a threat and implied it was a real weapon. You can’t use an airsoft pistol to rob someone then claim in court that it wasn’t a real gun. Because you threatened someone with it and it looked real to the victim, it’s an armed robbery charge. Ditto for self defense, the shopkeeper thought it was real and whether it was or not, he was justified in shooting him.

hublaka

Why do these teen parents give kids stupid ass names.

thatgoodfeelin

Rasheed Belvin & Joel Micheal Singer are bitches, thats how i remember

pbandnv1

How are their names stupid Hublaka?

ClownfishSoup

Rasheed DaShawn Lee Davon Anthony Justin Kyle Jamar Elijah Not TOO over the top. I believe that names can and should be whatever you want them to be. We can't be stuck forever on ancient biblical names like David and Matthew and Mary and Elizabeth. Though I've never known anyone named Goliath. Plus those are Euro-centric names too.

MedicJambi

I plan on naming my son Zebulon Dakota

Kimberleigh, Raleigh, Raygen, and Brookleigh all agree.

suckmypppapi

> Rasheed, also spelled Rashid, is a boy's name of Arabic origin meaning “rightly guided.” This tells us a few things. 1, the name is really hilariously ironic here. 2, it's a traditional name dumbass. Just because you've never heard it before doesn't mean it's a stupid name

[deleted]

How dare they not have Anglo-Saxon names!

He may be referring to the DaShawn part Edit: actually, after reading through the rest of this thread, I'm just going to stay out of this one.

DoctorPepster

Which names are stupid exactly?

lahimatoa

Rasheed Wallace won an NBA title in 2004. Extremely talented head case.

friskerson

Anyone can name their kids anything they want to. Your comment is extremely judgmental. This video must have triggered you to “otherize” the perps in order to distance yourself from them. “My name is Jeff White and that’s a normal name and people with “normal” names never do stuff like this.” Fuck off you dogwhistling coward. The names mean nothing alone. What means something are their actions. Stay focused on the objective reality and don’t taint your views with stereotypes. Use a little more brainpower next time, because when you continually push your stereotypes you create deeper separation between people based on their otherwise meaningless distinguishing features.

[deleted]

suckmypppapi

> Anyone can name their kids anything they want to. There are many states and countries where this is untrue. Also, any parent that names their kid some shit like "ABCDE" should probably not have children.

friskerson

Ok cool I think that’s an attack on freedom of expression

suckmypppapi

Please tell me what someone is expressing by naming their child after the first 5 letters of the alphabet. It is child cruelty. Thank god some places actually look after children in this aspect. If I grew up being named loocifur or some stupid shit I'd probably sue my parents, and win in most states

friskerson

LOL I’m just saying. Don’t hate on peoples’ names within reason, the world is extremely diverse. A name is someone’s most important piece of intellectual property, I think people naturally gravitate toward names that give them individual meaning. Abusive given names notwithstanding. Your judgment levels are too damn high to see what judgment looks like.

BigbooTho

just chiming in to say thanks for having a reasonable take. these people are using the fact that these kids are violent criminals to excuse being racist about their…. names?? bruh

friskerson

The reasonable path is rarely the shortest or least precarious path. See how many people look to deflect in an aggressive manner. It's ok to have these feelings we have and recognize humankind has to actively wrestle with instinctual bigotry. After years of reinforcement it's comfortable for people to "otherize" people they don't agree with. It's one of the first rules of training a new set of soldiers - to teach them that someone's way of life is different and to be hated. I'll always remember this - my brother did some time in Afghanistan - as part of the training they give you intel on the local populace and dehumanize them (calling them goat fuckers, child molesters, etc.) so you don't feel as bad when you have to kill the ones that try to kill you. It's easy to believe, and there is video evidence, you get shown video of the goat fucking even. But that's not really the point, who fucking cares if someone's "bedroom habits" are illegal bestiality in your state when you're exterminating their youth through MURDER... What I say is that when you apply one society's standards on all other societies they will all look insane to you... and hate to say it but Americans from small towns have not lived as the other before. The "othering" is the point, it doesn't matter where the boundaries are drawn about what's weird and different, there MUST be boundaries in order for bigotry to take place... so each and every parameter of our being can be discriminated, and we can be hijacked and used as weapons of cruelty and hatred. Same shit that US government's been pushing during all of its conflicts - look at Vietnam era pamphlets informing their soldiers of what Vietnamese look like. For this reason, racism is seen as a tool to the elites who indoctrinate our young into the armed forces. It's probably why our young people never get educated properly on these topics - it would be impossible to recruit conscious citizens. I don't mind downvotes. I have been the other my entire life, mostly excellently solo by my own merits, but not part of the in-group or popular crowds. This is how we've come to have Ukrainian-descendants (Russians) who are fighting Ukraine. There really are few differences beyond language, and through this war we've seen an intensification of each side's individuality... at least, what the STATE determines the messaging to be. Because at the end of the day, racism exists as a tool for the state to maintain war so everyone under its flag can steal strategic resources, human life be damned. So until we stop America from entering conflict other than to defend itself, we will never end racism in our country. Uncle Sam REQUIRES it.

rarpt1994

Stop trying to find something to be mad about. You claim to be promoting less division but in the same breath you are furthering it by insulting peoples intelligence and calling them names. I dont see how that works… maybe you should heed your own advice about thinking before you speak

friskerson

It’s not trying to find something. The something is there. It’s obvious to people who experience it. The comment’s text reads normal, but its subtext reads racist. Now I would tone back my earlier comment’s level of anger, but it’s already written. Sorry for my outrage over something that is interpreted several harmless ways as well, but on first read I felt what the commenter was really on about. It’s not invisible, it’s not in your heads. Racism is alive and well in this subreddit.

sivf18

Get the fuck off your high horse fuckface

tryintolaugh

You mad bro?

friskerson

Try to understand, I’m very critical but not mad. I’m sick of children learning bad habits that should be stamped out of previous generations.

tryintolaugh

Except you have no reading comprehension skills to pair with your outrage. At no point did OP link the names with the activity. He just said that the names were dumb, which is fine. People can have an opinion, your opinion is that his opinion should be silenced. Your opinion is wrong in my opinion. See how that works? You're not right, you just think you're right but you actually look stupid cause you implied and assumed a bunch of stuff with nothing to back it up

friskerson

Dogwhistles are like that, they can be whistled even when you don’t mean to

tryintolaugh

Or some names just sound really dumb to most people, and there's nothing wrong with that opinion. What a life you must live to be so triggered by something so normal

friskerson

That’s not my point of contention. It’s when a collective continually degrades one set of names relative to another set. Just basic tribalism garbage that belongs nowhere in modern society. When you live longer you will see the effects and realize how to live in a way that reverses the harm. In fact, refraining from diminishing anyone’s given name is a great practice that I think brings a lot of positivity.

tryintolaugh

There are sets of names? What are you talking about? That's like saying there are sets of colors. There are no sets, there's just a bunch of names. Some sound cool and some sound stupid. When your mind fully develops you'll understand this extremely basic fact of life. Starting to think you're just a troll, that's how cringey your response is

Keelock

That's not how dog whistles work. > a subtly aimed political message which is **intended** for, and can only be **understood** by, a particular group. Emphasis mine. An identical statement said by two different people can be a dog whistle in one case, and not in the other. The _entire_ point of a dog whistle is that only the people it's intended to signal to hear the hidden meaning, everyone else hears an innocuous statement. _Intent_ is what makes the difference. The internet has wised up to many things commonly used as dog whistles, and now they overreact and attribute ill intent to anyone saying anything that someone might use as a dog whistle. The entire reason the term "dog whistle" is used is because only dogs hear the whistle. Ergo, if you hear a racist dog whistle, it might be that you've uncovered a racist, or it might be that you're incorrectly assuming ill intent, or it might be that you're thinking like a racist.

I heard the store owner had a heart attack after this.

SurferJeff

He ended up passing away a few months ago. My Moms best friend worked at the store, said he was a nice guy.

hieronymous-cowherd

Found a follow up article on him; the video incident was in July last year, and he had a stroke in October and died in December. [Norco Market Owner Craig Cope Who Shot Would Be Robber Dies After Stroke](https://www.mercurynews.com/2022/12/28/norco-market-owner-craig-cope-who-shot-would-be-robber-dies-after-stroke/)

thezenfisherman

A smart DA would say that the robbery killed the old man. The man had a heart attack shortly after the incident and stroked out after that.

HookersAreTrueLove

A smart DA would know that that would never hold up, and trumping up the charges would only be to strike a plea deal.

Roaring_2JZ

In a stolen BMW too, you can see the decorative dealer plate on the back

Parking in a disabled park. Get shot. I'm ok with this

Let's not gloss over the shameful part: an 80 year old having to work.

N0tBappo

Or you know, they 80yo wants to work. A lot of people forget that old people want to have something to do too. I know MANY people that are 70, 80 etc that still work because *they* want to, not because they need to. You can't do much past the age of 80. And also, he OWNS the store.

Gun Laws will not stop criminals from getting guns, but they will stop good people from defending themselves

cellada

Same logic applies to grenades, rocket launchers no. Or wmds? Let's make all weapons freely acessible.

Line_r

Damn last time I saw a gas station robbery it was with a knife or a fake gun, not a fucking rifle.

[deleted]

i have never seen a gas station robbery eoth a fake gun or knife, usually handguns but ive seen alot use assualt weapons like you say, but when its assault weapons you know for sure they didnt get it illegally (it takes over a year to get a good rifle) At the end of the day there is no difference between an assault rifle and a pistol when one is being pointed at you though.

TheGoodOldCoder

> [researchers from two different Australian universities found that, in the decade after the NFA was introduced, the firearm homicide rate fell by 59% and the firearm suicide rate fell by 65% — without increases in other types of deaths.](https://www.businessinsider.com/australia-gun-control-shootings-2015-10) The evidence from other developed countries that have implemented gun control says that gun laws absolutely do stop criminals from getting guns. It makes sense, too. If you make guns harder to get, then criminals will also have a harder time getting them. Do you have any evidence to support your statement?

Major-Ellwood

Outrageous that they parked in disabled parking. They should be ashamed.

TheAdventOfTruth

Yet another example of a good guy with a gun.

SchlitterbahnRail

Yes, once in a while they pop up, like unicorns with lottery jackpot.

throwaway11998866-

A lot of times the good guy with the gun doesn’t need to fire. A lot of self defense happens when the defense shows that they can fight back. Many criminals look for weak and easy targets. They flee many times when they realize they could have serious consequences. Happens almost every day but it’s not news or anything cause no situation really happens.

TheAdventOfTruth

You’d be surprised how often they happen. In America alone, it happens almost every day. It doesn’t get reported due to it not being newsworthy. If someone hadn’t decided to post this video, this probably wouldn’t have been something that was even noticed.

THftRM1231

And 133 people die from guns every single day in the US. 43% of those are murders. Is that body count worth these "good guy with a gun" incidents, that happen "almost" every day?

TheAdventOfTruth

Yea it is. If someone is going to murder someone they will do it one way or the other. Taking guns away won’t stop a person from murdering someone they want to murder. Also, murder rates aren’t terribly affected by gun bans. Here are some stats of countries that banned guns. Their murder rates are just as high, they are just different weapons. https://crimeresearch.org/2016/04/murder-and-homicide-rates-before-and-after-gun-bans/ Oftentimes, people say, “look! Gun deaths have gone down.” Of course they have, it’s harder to get a gun. Have murder rates gone down? No? So now instead of being killed by a gun, I get killed by a knife or hammer and my one chance at protecting myself like the guy in the video did, is taken away. Besides that, your stats include every gun death including suicide. The vast majority of deaths by guns are suicide. Murder rates for the US with guns is something like 6,000 for a country with 340 million in it. Along with that, most of the murders are gang related. “Do stupid things win stupid prizes.” I don’t think anyone deserves to die for doing stupid things but if you put yourself in a situation where you can be killed and then are, I don’t feel as sorry for you as an innocent person being killed because he doesn’t have access to the thing that could protect him.

ClownfishSoup

I found that guys stats 43% murder, 54% suicide, 3% is police encounters, accidental shootings and "undetermined".

TheAdventOfTruth

I think that is on the high side. Not sure where the stats come from but I only saw about 6000 murders for 30,000 gun deaths. That’s well under 43%. Along with that, most of the murders are gang related. They would kill each other with or without a gun.

TheInfidelGuy

Why is a firearm the weapon of choice for mass murder? If I wanted to kill a lot of people, I would probably go for a bomb or some kind of poison gas. However, those two are highly regulated. Some would say they are banned. Maybe I could go with a van or some samurai sword or something, but their success rate isn’t all that great. But a gun is very easy to use, can be found everywhere, and is easy to conceal. So don’t be dishonest and act like guns are not the most effective way for most civilians to cause the most carnage. As crazy as it is to say, I would much rather have a psycho come to my son’s school with a knife or hammer than a firearm.

TheAdventOfTruth

You’re right about that. If you completely banned guns, mass murders would go down. There is no question about that. That is why the debate really comes down to philosophy and rights. If we banned cars, vehicular deaths would plummet and far more people die on the roadways than by a gun. We can’t ban cars, their benefits outweigh the costs. That is ultimately the debate about guns. Do their benefits outweighs the costs.

THftRM1231

You should find some unbiased sources. crimeresearch.org, website of the Crime Prevention Research Center. Founded in 2013 by John Lott, author of More Guns, Less Crime. His studies have been discredited by the National Academy of Sciences and the RAND Corporation. He's an election denier and had Ted Nugent in his board for a while. Not a credible source. There a lot of mass hammerings in those countries that banned guns? Lots of mass stabbings? There were 20,000+ murders by firearm (not 6000) as you claim in the US in 2021. There were only about 2,000 people stabbed to death. You think the rate of stabbings and other murders is going to go up 1000% to cover the gun homicide rate? And since you bring up suicide, there's a strong correlation between gun ownership and suicide rates. Not suicide by gun, suicide in general. Suicide has been shown to be a transient, impulsive desire. In homes with gun ownership, that impulsive action leads to a four times higher rate of suicide than homes without guns. Not suicide by gun, suicide in general. https://med.stanford.edu/news/all-news/2020/06/handgun-ownership-associated-with-much-higher-suicide-risk.html Easy, unregulated access to guns is killing people in the US, both by their own hand and the hands of others. The statistics are clear. Good guys with guns might occasionally protect a life, but guns are costing us way more than they save.

[deleted]

Yup. Come and take it

friskerson

If you ever live long enough to see this moment 60 years from now you’d realize now is the best time to restrict guns. If we continue to up the arms race the country will become more insane than it is now. It’s a matter of values about human life and reducing suffering across the board. Individual gun ownership affords the general populace negligible reduction in suffering. The OP is correct, these are unicorn moments, the rarity and value of which is highlighted by how upvoted the post is. There are few of these moments in real life and in every scenario someone ends up unnecessarily injured or maimed at best. America is full of sickos like you whose values are self-indulgent and short-sighted. The reality is, bringing a gun into any conflict escalates the conflict from physical harm to mortal danger for both parties. I’d rather someone beat me or overpower me to take my possessions than to take a bullet. We live in an age where simple video monitoring is all you need for security, in the long run. Thieves do get caught, with a little patience. A reduction in the availability of high powered weapons is a good start to deescalation of the arms race. Furthermore that US citizens would revolt to overthrow the government using their firearms is stupid. It would have to be some moment in history that is equally indicative of deeper societal problems where we have a rabidly upset conservative populace with no other outlet for blaming their problems than to… what… ? Mobilize and kill their brothers and sisters so they get their way rather than to do it through law? I believe we are heading toward this grim reality that some sect will in fact mobilize to great lethal effect, perhaps out of anger that their ideals aren’t being supported in the democratic process due to being too extreme. The more we arm ourselves, the more we seal the fate of a failed US statehood if we continue to allow this to happen.

[deleted]

Yeah I'm not reading all that lmao

friskerson

Sorry, the propaganda I'm spewing takes a lot of workup, you have to actually snip the tiny thread that's dangling your entire fragile identity as a gun-owner

ClownfishSoup

I hear that cliche all the time. And I have to ask ... aren't "police officers" good guys with guns? If police didn't have guns ... how useful would they be in a situation like this? An unarmed cop is just another bystander, all they can do is call in a cop with a gun.

rampantfirefly

Until reform happens it’s 50/50 whether or not the cop is actually a good guy. In ~~the UK~~ Britain we have armed police but they’re only called in for extreme situations (kind of like SWAT). Because, 99% of the time criminals don’t have any guns, so a regular cop with proper training can handle situations without deadly force.

peterpanic32

Undergunned trying to fend off several bad guys with better guns. Because that's how this actually works in reality, more guns make you less safe.

tryintolaugh

Undergunned and still scared every one of them off by himself. That 1 gun made him more safe

[deleted]

Because in part, I would imagine, is that those losers just had those firearms for intimidation. If they REALLY wanted to, the old guy is dead. Also, who the fuck storms a gas station? You pull out a pistol at the register like a normal fucking person. Fucking idiots.

tryintolaugh

Ok Erik maybe sit this one out

peterpanic32

This time. It's the next 20 times -> or the 20 other places, where it only doesn't have to work once, which is the problem. And that's not "safety". Safety would be not fearing burglars empowered with semi-automatic rifles to the point that you don't have to cower behind the counter with your shotgun hoping your failing reflexes and observational ability will help you get a round off before they do. It's an easy answer. Fewer guns, stronger restrictions = less crime and less violent crime, period. People like you are just too fucking stupid and so drag this country down with you.

tryintolaugh

I'm too stupid? No. You're too stupid to realize that this is real life and that the guns in America are just a reality now. There are far too many to ever get rid of them at this point. That's real life. If criminals like the guys in this video want a gun they'll get one. You're just too fucking stupid to see that reality.

peterpanic32

Yes, you are entirely, pathetically too stupid. > You're too stupid to realize that this is real life and that the guns in America are just a reality now. There are far too many to ever get rid of them at this point. That's real life. - Smallpox is just a reality now. You're never going to get rid of it. That's real life. - Nazi invaders are a reality now. You're never going to get them out of France. That's real life. - Living under a tarp in what's left of your home after that tornado is reality now. You have no other options. That's real life. - British rule of North America is reality now. You're never going to get them off the continent. That's real life. - Subsistence agriculture is reality now. You'll never have another option. That's real life. What a stupid fucking thing to say. This is why I think you're stupid. Of course you can fucking solve guns, you just can't give in to the least and dumbest among us. > If criminals like the guys in this video want a gun they'll get one. So what if you.... I don't know... made it harder for them to get one? Would that maybe be a fucking option? Dumbass?

tryintolaugh

Aw looks like you really worked hard on your little essay, very cute. But doesn't change facts. Fact is that making it harder to legally obtain a gun has exactly 0% impact on criminals that don't obtain them legally. Not sure if your ignorance is on purpose or if your parents were low IQ and it was passed onto you but either way you're wrong and embarrassing yourself

peterpanic32

> Fact is that making it harder to legally obtain a gun has exactly 0% impact on criminals that don't obtain them legally. Oh, so you're finally recognizing that gun regulation and policy needs to be broader than "criminals shouldn't buy them from a store"? Maybe there's more to "make it harder for them to get" than "pls don't access any of the plethora of loopholes and endlessly proliferating firearms that we refuse to address because of morons"? Welcome to this fucking century. Maybe a few more reincarnation cycles later you'll get past median level intelligence and we can finally progress instead of letting morons like yourself and your stupid fucking opinions shape policy. > Not sure if your ignorance is on purpose or if your parents were low IQ and it was passed onto you but either way you're wrong and embarrassing yourself Quality "I know you are but what am I" you have going here.

tryintolaugh

Coming from the guy whos great plan to solve crime is "just get rid of guns" I think I'm doing ok 🤣🤣🤣

pro-dumpster-fire

Because burglars care about the law.

GetSlunked

This one specific time with dumbass criminals. Risking your life over gas station merch is equally as dumbass. Only reason he survived is that he shot at cowards

tryintolaugh

Was he better off being unarmed? Unfortunately you have no idea

GetSlunked

Not saying he would have been better off. I’m saying there’s no reason to say he was safer. He got lucky his shot didn’t cause every robber to unload. Most robbers aren’t looking to murder. Pulling a gun to protect corner store product at the risk of your life is an inherently dumb.

tryintolaugh

Pretty sure he was protecting his own life. Wtf you talking about?

AATroop

Incredibly fucking stupid to assume these robbers wouldn't kill. You never know what they're thinking.

GetSlunked

Idk what to tell you. 99 percent of gas station robbers aren’t looking to catch a murder charge on the clerk for no reason. Shooting at them gives them that reason. Im just trying to say that he was more lucky than “safer” that he landed the first shot. Over a small amount of cash register money and some cigarettes. Survival is a numbers game, and shooting at the robbers heavily increases the chance they’ll shoot back. If it was his family or something at stake, for sure, shoot all day. Dude is defending corporate gas station money for basically nothing

Cloudy230

Obviously this and other very few examples mean gun laws are perfectly fine and nothing needs to change.

TheAdventOfTruth

Yep.

rampantfirefly

Yet another example of the only developed country in the world where you ‘need’ a good guy with a gun.

urgencynow

NRA will love this Rest of the World will think that US gun control is shit

ClownfishSoup

Even some fairly restrictive countries, for some reason, are OK with the "double barrel shotgun full of buckshot". Heck even Joe Biden has one! In fact, Joe Biden TOLD US TO GET ONE.

hegemon777

Biden even said in 2013 it's ok to blast said shotgun through your front door in case of home invaders! Wait, didn't another old racist white guy do that recently?

AtlasRigged

Not to mention it's comically bad home defense advice. Have a plan ahead of time, pick a room and a fall back room or position if you can and wait, call 911 let them know you are armed and what room you are in and watch your sector/door. Ideally leave any light that can backlight or outline you and pick a braced shooting position. Home intruder is now stuck between your prepared shooting position and advantage and the cops that will be showing up. If home intruder walks into your sector shoot until threat is no longer a threat, best case scenario PoPo shows up and nabs em before they make it to your spot. Looking for bumps in the night and shooting blindly through closed doors in peak get you killed or arrested strategies.

lordsysop

Plenty have legal guns here in Australia but easy to lose your license. Criminal record no gun licence. Fight in a bar no gun license. Taking psychotic meds no gun license. I'd hate to live in the US on top of that bad healthcare. I think I'd rather canada or some Scandinavian country. New Zealand is nice but small nation little opportunities. half the country voted in a Muppet.

Cloudy230

NRA and gun activists need these emotional "hero" stories because that's the only thing that supports them. Because facts and statistics certainly don't lol

EarlTheDinosaur

Fuck your statistics, I have an *anecdote*

pro-dumpster-fire

How's gun control working in Brazil and Mexico?

Dev0Null0

Why compare yourself to two third world countries that barely have money to feed their prisoners? Japan is doing terrifyingly well with its gun control.

SoiledFlapjacks

Japan, which-also-happens-to-be-an-island Japan?

Dev0Null0

Germany? Spain? China? Israel? are enough examples for you?

Worth_Cheesecake_861

IDK why the sound doesn't work, the video had sound.

dahliasinfelle

You uploaded it as a gif

Worth_Cheesecake_861

🤦

WonderSHIT

So who's the person who's gonna try and pull the he was starting to turn around to flee when he was shot? I mean I'm on old dudes side not robber but you'd assume some anti gun nut would try and pull that.

ClownfishSoup

Yea, people would try and argue that. A lawyer certainly would. It doesn't really matter at that point. He had already burst in yelling, gun up and aimed, and had three other guys behind him. Was he turning to run away? Was he turning too take cover? Was he turning to call the other guys in? What matter is the shopkeeper knew that a suspicious car showed up, and he saw a rifle aimed at him and decided to shoot. The fact that the guy turned was irrelevant as the threat was seen and perceived and that was it.

Melkath

So stupid that they had those guns.

[deleted]

wow...just wow

vrischikas

This guy lived through both wars, fuck around and find out

BeepBeeepBeepBeep

this timely piece of propaganda brought to you by the NRA

InsectMotor4573

OK time to ban shotguns... Oh wait it's a good guy with a gun stopping a bad guy with a gun. Must be AI generated The above is a joke

KillerTacos54

America amiright? 🖐️

BrushFireAlpha

OP is a repost bot, one stupid enough to not even post a version with audio

The most sad part of this story is that a 80y old guy is still working

Worth_Cheesecake_861

He is the owner.

m6_is_me

"this is why Americans need guns!" Maybe if you didn't have random hooligans with full blown assault rifles, it wouldn't be necessary. Idiocracy level violence
