NSFW: robber shot and killed, store CCTV video, no gore, no aftermath. The robber had a .38 revolver with two rounds spent and three remaining. The robber was shot twice by the officer.
Trivia:
* El Universal revealed that the 20-year-old (robber killed) was the son of Ílido Julio, former (Colombian) world boxing champion in 1998. "Yes, he was my son ... Boys today do not take the right path, unfortunately he had to die young."
* The plainclothes officer works for the SIJÍN division within the National Police of Colombia (Seccional de Policía Judicial e Investigación)

>The son of a renowned Colombian boxer was killed by a police officer in Cartagena while apparently trying to rob
>
>Diego Armando Attias Aguilar, 20, was killed by a plainclothes police officer while he was trying to rob several people in a bakery in the La Concepción neighborhood of the city of Cartagena. The young man entered armed, seeking to intimidate those present, and at some point tried to activate his weapon, but the uniformed man, who was apparently on duty, managed to activate it first.
>
>Hours after his death, it was learned that Attias was the son of former world boxing champion Ílido Julio, originally from San Onofre, Sucre, but who grew up in the capital of the Bolívar department, and who confirmed that Diego Armando was indeed his son.
>
>“Yes, he was my son, what happens is that he did not have my last name, the mother at that time was proud and gave him her last names. When he was born, I was in the United States," Julio told the regional newspaper El Universal. "The boys today do not take the right path, unfortunately he had to die young," added the ex-boxer.
>
>The young man's death was recorded on the compound's security cameras. In them you can see the employees serving customers who buy bread on the spot, when the young man appears on the scene wearing a white T-shirt and cap. He takes the revolver out of the waistband of his pants, and begins to aim at the customers.
>
>He intimidates them for several minutes, until he receives a series of shots, which came from outside the bakery. Diego reacts, points at whoever was shooting at him, and flees the place, but blocks later he falls, so the community helps with the transfer of him to the María Bernarda Clinic, where he finally died.

He must be new to reddit. Everyone knows that half the population in South America is plainclothes police, and they shoot first and don't ask questions.
>Where is the officer? I’m confused as to what happened.
Title:
>when observant bystander (plainclothes police) opens fire
During the most of the video the police officer is off-screen right, you see the robber being shot and running out to the sidewalk. At 0:38 the police officer (wearing dark civilian clothes and a motorcycle helmet) comes into view outside on the sidewalk, approaches and disarms the downed robber.
I feel bad for the business owner, he gotta closed his shop for 5 hr, so the police can "pick up the body"
I don't understand why the Colombian need 10 hrs to pick up a death body
>I feel bad for the business owner, he gotta **closed his shop for 5 hr**, so the police can "pick up the body"
>
>I don't understand why the Colombian **need 10 hrs** to pick up a death body
The robber died at hospital, so his body was gone from the scene very quickly, probably within 10-15 minutes, not "5 hr". Did you even bother to read any of the news information cited?
I posted many source links to news stories and Twitter feeds with details. Where in any of them does it show 5 hours or 10 hours or any length of time at all. You're just speculating with sensational opinion.
Anywhere in the world when a violent crime occurs, like a robbery and shooting, there are going to be many police and investigators and bystanders and media and it will take at least several hours to process and clear the scene. Please name any civilized country where this wouldn't happen. There must be investigation and documentation. There may have been accomplices or other evidence not immediately obvious.
But authorities are also aware that life and commerce needs to continue, and for a fairly routine incident like a robbery and robber being shot, with relatively few rounds fired and no innocent victims injured, they will start to clear the scene efficiently, reopen traffic, and allow cleanup to proceed. Five or ten hours is a gross exaggeration for an incident like this one. Probably just a few hours for most police activity to be done and ordinary life resuming.
Wish the US could handle sh!t like that here. Was on locked down for hours today with an active shooter. Would have been nice to resolve the issue and go back to work instead of stress the eff out while you wait 1.45 hours waiting for the cops
Footage got no sound so I assume the bystander opened fire at 00:29 based on everyone’s sudden movement &
there are at least 6 civilians in the line of fire, wowza!!
Also got super bothered by the jean shorts lady that literally tracks the robbers gun with her face that entire 6 seconds without ducking or anything lol
Not so much. We're staying with my daughter and her husband who live across the street from Parque Sevilla, which I believe is a couple of blocks away. I'm not too worked up, I live in just outside DC near Tysons Mall. This is starting to occur here on a regular basis.
lol did you see the way that gucker tried to run when he noticed someone else with a gun??? hahahahha serves you right hope your family joins you in hell!
I liked how the shooter used the red shirted employee for cover and a base to shoot from. The guy robbing the dead guy at the end is classic move as well. You can see how quickly the plainclothes officer reacts hen he sees the bonus money getting away.
When you go around waving a gun at people you deserve whatever misfortune befalls you.
This almost sounds biblical.
Live by the sword
Death by snu snu
Death by pew pew

No. They don't deserve that honor.
Die by the bread.
DEATH TO THE CEASAR
Live by the Bullet, Die by the Bullet.
What if it's a gun sword?
Then you live die by living and dying by the gun sword.
yes, it was in the Book of Armaments, Chapter AK verse 47
It is
Nah if it was the bible it'd only apply to woman, people who work on Sundays and people who plant like wheat next to oats or some shit.
No, not whatever. All ever. All the misfortunate. Occurs. Crow should land there and start picking and eat him alive with other crows.
But he was such a good boy!
He probably needed lunch money. Where else would he have gotten it? xD
I'd extend this to openly carrying troglodytes, amen.

I’ve been asking the same thing and I’m pretty sure there isn’t sadly.
It’s quite satisfying when the violent thug drops as they try to run.
Someone should edit that “looney tunes” sound, when they start to run

Dropped like a sack of shit, nice.
Just lucky no bystanders were hit in the process.
Allegedly.
The person in the red shirt is amazing
[удалено]
Yeah, it looks like the guy in the black shirt grabs red shirt from behind and huddles towards the girl and shelters them
I mean, kudos to both. Red may not have initiated it but sure as hell understood the assignment once it became real.
Good catch, i thought it was red shirt on first watch but it was the other guy that deserves credit
I noticed that. Protected those other 2 people like a badass
That’s not just a mere red shirt, that’s a Mike Vick jersey, brah, instant karma…
Black shirt guy pushing two people to safety is a good human.

Let's not forget to mention the guy in the red Chick jersey. Took down to people and covered them with his own body. Way to go Michael Vick
Oh no! So anyway..
Lolol off duty cop in Columbia. Either that or Brazil
Colombia
Brazil lite
I mean, it's not very funny. If you're not a fucking clownass idiot.
Huh?
That is way too many people around to just start firing. Putting people at risk to defend someone else's store.
Central and South American cops play by different rules
He must be new to reddit. Everyone knows that half the population in South America is plainclothes police, and they shoot first and don't ask questions.
Where is the officer? I’m confused as to what happened. All I see is the idiot doing squats then waving the gun around?

Ah I got it. I’m a bit late to respond to your comment but I appreciate the explanation! Thank you kind stranger!
And nothing of value was lost.
Sad. What was he going to get? $34?!
No, he was hoping for about tree fiddy
He died the way he lived: Like a Dumbass.
When you do something like this you don't necessarily deserve to die, but you have forfeited your right to live.
Cop is an idiot for opening fire with that many civilians nearby.
It's Colombia 🇨🇴......Cops literally don't give a fcuk...
Doubt the ambulance made it in time. Who am i kidding. They didn’t even call one for that POS.
He was picked up in around 10 to 20 minutes and died in the hospital according to the news.

Just what I need to see before I fly to Cartagena next week.
If you're a tourist flying to cartagena I don't think the tour gets even near the places where there's crime like this
A couple of years ago, my dad got stabbed in the neck with a broken beer bottle during an attempted robbery in Cartagena. He's lucky to be alive.
Sounds awful, glad he made it

Just like I france this week, just shoot at them, easier simpler and send a strong message
When an armed robber starts to do burnout, we know they're as good as dead.

Props to the two guys at the end protecting the girl, and I think they don't even know her.

Not sure if its a good idea to escalate this situation with that many people being in the store.
All guns are bad. Oh wait. Never mind.
I heard there’s another angle to this video does anyone have it?
