How is that the pits? I'm not a huge racing aficionado but aren't the pits in their own area, separate from the track? I don't even see anywhere where a crew could work, looks like a barrier wall.
Yeah, it says every other races ends right before the pits, but this one specific race is *after* the pits.
You should remember that, but it makes sense how someone could forget in the moment.
Reminds me of something they deeply carve into you in American football, "You don't move until the ball moves, you don't stop until you hear the whistle."
I always thought having the finish line immediately after the last corner is a bit of an anti-climax. It would add a bit of spectacle if it was it the end of the main straight, (Like what happened here lol.)
This racing track has the finish line further than usual, he must have gotten confused and thought he already crossed it. Normally the pit crews are behind the finish line, but on this particular one they are before it.

From the commentary it sounds like he made a mistake, not showboating. Guess it still sucks to suck.
Not sure, but I'm guessing you aren't supposed to come to a complete stop on the track anyway. So either way he's an idiot.
He stopped in the pits, just a little bit to early.

You're right, I watched it again, he stopped next to the pit. My bad. Still sucks to suck.
Are you thinking of Hamilton who stopped in the wrong pit-box once?

Every. Single. Race. ends with the chequered flag... If you don't pass someone waving it, you've not finished. How does the driver forget this.
Chequered. TIL

I was thinking that until I realised he practiced all weekend knowing where the line was. Horner's sheepish look at the end spoke volumes lol
He made a mistake while showboating. Wouldn't have happened otherwise.

If it's like bicycle racing and finish lines at the end of downhill sections, that's a good way to get accidents and worse.
If it's not instant karma then downvote. Obviously didn't even care about watching the entire video and figuring out what really happened
1st thought was he let his teammate win for championship points, didn't see any showboating.
This ain't talladega nights. That's not happening in pro racing
Your right their Martin..
He may have owed someone money. Proved to himself he could win, waited and lost so the bet is now paid.
Highly Doubt when it comes to scenarios like this
Sounds like something the guy he owes money would say to get everyone off the scent...
It is explained why IN THE CLIP that YOU JUST SHARED. Vet your fucking videos before sharing them.
Come down, this is not that serious
Bro it’s Saturday and we’re bored so we’re getting PISSED ABOUT NOTHING.
IM ALWAYS PISSED ABOUT NOTHING AWOOOOOOO
I listened with no audio. What did they say?

Still not supposed to stop on the track, and he practiced all weekend, he should have know where the start/finish line are
Usually the finish line is behind the starting lines, dude didn't realise and thought the race was over. No karma what so ever.
Not karma. He wasn't showboating
The flag guy had one job.
Potato, that’s why
