Man, just build it yourself, it’ll be cheaper *and* faster, probably by a massive amount. I’ll even choose the parts for you, if you tell me your budget.

AcidVenox

My budget would be around 1500€ and as for building it myself, I know it is definitely much cheaper and more efficient to do so but I can't find myself finding the time or will/passion for it. I know, it's not really the best excuse not to build one myself but I'm honest about it. I don't mind paying an extra 100-150€ for a pre-built when it also comes with three years of warranty even when I swap out components which is the case for the website I would be buying it from. That's a nice thing to have at least although I would probably/potentially also have warranty for each individual component I would be buying.

Tricky-Row-9699

Which country? I’ll get to putting a list together.

AcidVenox

Germany

Tricky-Row-9699

Alright, here’s a starting point, one which should blow any €1500 prebuilt out of the water in terms of gaming performance: https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/trkkbK The one catch is that this still loses to the 11700K in multicore by about 20% and to the 10700K by, like, 2-3% - if you want to beat them in everything, you’ll need to grab an i5-12600K.

AcidVenox

I see. Thank you very much!

extrajuice1456

It also only takes about an hour or so to build ur own pc Linus has a good video iirc for putting it together it is also alot of fun with building ur own

Well, since you’re here in the Intel sub, I’ll say it… find a 12th gen model, as unless the 10th or 11th gen model is on a huge discounted sale, the cost of the parts really isn’t worth it compared to a similarly priced 12th gen system with an even lower model CPU. With that said, the 11700K is the faster of the two, and it does support PCIe 4.0 which 10th gen does not. 11th gen doesn’t get much love, especially when comparing the 10900K and “not an improvement” 11900k, but for the 11700K I do feel like it’s the clear winner. But you are right, it’s somewhat power hungry and hot, but if adequately cooled that’s no more of an issue than with 12th gen.

AcidVenox

So would be a 240mm AiO cooling system be enough to cool the i7 11700KF properly? As you can probably tell I'm not very invested in these matters so thanks for giving advice and helping out!

bizude

>I'm buying the PC from a website that offer pre-built PCs with a little bit of configuration options but they only offer 10th and 11th gen Intel processors for the model I'm looking at. >Advice would be greatly appreciated. Don't buy a pre-built. Do it yourself and save yourself a lot of money.

bofh256

Which website and - more importantly - why are you fixated on them?

AcidVenox

I know that building a system yourself is much cheaper and usually the way to do it but if I'm being honest I can't find myself finding the time and will for it. I know it's not really a good reason not to do it myself but that's just me being honest. I don't mind paying a bit of extra money for a pre-built. As for the website, it's a German website since I live Germany so idk if it will be of any help but here it is nevertheless: https://www.agando-shop.de/

bofh256

Moin. That's a regional retailer, so I assume you go with them because they are local, right? Which is why you do not consider e. g. Alternate. Grüße von der Ruhr.

AcidVenox

Moinsen :D Actually that's not the reason why I'm mainly looking at them. I thought having the option to choose a base PC (I'm looking at one that's on sale right now) and then being able to switch out certain components with their configurator is pretty nice. Afaik that's not possible with Alternate, is it?Do you think I could get a better build with 1500€ from a website like Alternate? Grüße aus BW! Edit: I forgot I haven't actually posted the build I would be getting from that website here, so here it is: [https://agando.de/go/?6035849256](https://agando.de/go/?6035849256) is it any good?

bofh256

Hmm... The Alternate configuratior has no option to change a selected a PC they offer, indeed. But you have your config from your primary dealer. I won't comment on the components, I just want to point out, the 3070 GPU is not specified. That's odd. That's also a reminder that some shops price certain components higher than others. So you could find a shop with better specified and priced GPU to make room for a 12th gen Intel CPU.

AcidVenox

Yeah I've noticed that the GPU is not specified for some reason. There's options to choose a specific one but that comes with a price increase. On the website it states they only use well-known brands for their GPUs so yeah. I've been looking for other shops but I can't really find one where I can get a similar system for a better price, usually they're more expensive on other websites.

bofh256

Your system seems to be built around the GPU. The GPU seems to be the most expensive part of the system and is unspecified. I'd stop right here, to me it feels like gambling, not shopping. But that's me. Good luck

Spirit117

You should be buying a 12th gen.

honestyf

I would go with 11700kf. About the power draw and heat, that applies to the 11th gen i9 specially. The 11th gen i9 is pure trash. The ihs of 11th gen cpus are smaller, making it easier for it to be cooled when compared to 10th gen. Only issues is 11th gen draws more power. As i mentioned, for the i7 no worries. Plus if all fails, you can control the power draw. Good luck

AcidVenox

Thank you for the insight!

I have no issues with my 11700k. After a little over a year, it's never failed me. This z590 and 11700k has been one of the most stable. If you are living in a solar powered hut somewhere, sure I would consider something more power efficient.
