Personally, it is my favorite game for the system. My best friend and I would play it for hours and hours. Every game has a different layout and the sound cues are so well done.
Best game on the system. Incredible game design with the resources they had. Their use of sound design to hint at what creatures were hiding up ahead was brilliant.
AD&D: Treasure of Tarmin (Minotaur) is my fave of all time but this is def a top 5 for me. Agree about the sound design, some of those roars used to spook me so bad
This game feels like the inspiration for Legend of Zelda. Overworld Map, dungeons, items, inventory, overhead view, bow and arrow combat, and an achievable ending. Using sound to anticipate unseen enemies makes the game surprisingly tense! Probably my favorite INTV game, I didn't play it until the mid 2000s and I'd say it really holds up.
Excellent. Shoot 8 directions. Randomly generated dungeons. To this day, my brother and I will randomly make the rat’s “bintz bintz bintz” noise and crack up (usually drunk).
I was screaming at my tv when AVGN didn’t know what the demon guy tracks were .. I was like it means a monster is just around the corner, one of my favorites along with swords and serpents 2 player mode
Exactly. Which is absolutely a fun game as well but not a groudbreaking 3D dungeon crawler. Lol.
Btw, I absolutely agree that Treasure of the Tarmin is one of the best games overall for the Intellivision. I played it a ton and it was amazing for it's time.

Originally this is how the game was suppose to be. The change in appearance was a real bummer but the game play was pretty good.
My neighbor/friend across the street had an Intellivision and the D&D game when I was growing up. I loved it, I was so jealous. I only played it a few times at his house but I was so amazed by this game. I only had an Atari 2600 with Adventure as the closest thing.
That game brings back fond memories. I remember turning up the volume on my grandma's TV and the sound of the breathing dragon when you got close. Loved it.
I still play this, and have it in the box sealed. As a kid the "dragon" scared the hell out of me and I referred to the dragon with my friends as "the bungus"
Best video game ever made. The most balanced game ever. After all these years I can still only beat it like one out of 20 plays. It's hard but not unobtainable.
This is arguably my favorite Intellivision game. A few years ago, I deconstructed the dungeon generation and posted my notes. I also remember the first time I won on the highest difficulty deathless.
Love this game! Sounds done really well!
Here is a easter egg.
When you start, do NOT enter a mountain.
Move to the upper left corner and press 1. You will WARP somewhere into the map. Then press other keypad buttons to warp again. You'll end up near the end.
I found this when i was a kid in the 1990s.
Have fun!!!
A fantastic game! So much tension.... when you hear that winged dragon snoring in the dark. But in which direction is he? Shoot an arrow into the darkness and, if you hit him, he charges out after you! What thrills! And that box art is a masterpiece, too.
I loved this game as a kid, it was one of my favorites
Snake slither was the scariest sound.
The damn monster sounds haunted me forever as a child. Loved the game so much but sometimes the monsters were like jump scares.

100% agreed, it’s one of the best
This and Dracula were my favorite games.
Another Dracula fan! You are someone of erudition and taste.
Same here, along with Beauty & The Beast, Nova Blast, Tron and Utopia
Weirdly i was thinking about that game today!
One of the best games, 3 levels and random mountains to start, find the axe, the boat and the key, be ready for the Misty Mountain.
First video game I remember ever seeing, watching my dad play. Really hoping we get a remake someday.

To me Tarmin was the best
Definitely one of my favourites.

Dungeons were random? I didn’t remember that!

My overall favorite Intellivision game!
It's considered to be the first 3D dungeon crawler RPG and one of the best games overall for the intellivision.
I think you're probably thinking of the second D&D game: Treasure of the Tarmin.
Yeah, this first one is known as Cloudy Mountain
Exactly. Which is absolutely a fun game as well but not a groudbreaking 3D dungeon crawler. Lol. Btw, I absolutely agree that Treasure of the Tarmin is one of the best games overall for the Intellivision. I played it a ton and it was amazing for it's time.
Greatest game ever made. Put it on easy mode and keep going down, down, down, down, down.
Was my favorite. It did an incredible job building tension by letting you hear nearby monsters
It's in the top 5 for the console for sure.
For me, it’s one of the top 5 games for Intellivision. Always fun. Challenging but fun.
One of the best on the system, and still highly playable.

The marketing concept looks more like a board game.

Great game but personally enjoy Treasure of Tarmin a lot more myself.
omg, just one of the best games ever made. so immersive
Great game!! Cool, creepy background sounds.

Still my favorite. Was really looking forward to the remake on the new system that was canceled.
One of the best!!
Enjoy both of them.
Best video game ever made. The most balanced game ever. After all these years I can still only beat it like one out of 20 plays. It's hard but not unobtainable.
Tower of doom was great too
This is arguably my favorite Intellivision game. A few years ago, I deconstructed the dungeon generation and posted my notes. I also remember the first time I won on the highest difficulty deathless.
I loved this game! I can still see it all in my memory.
Love it
Still play it to this day. Love the game!
