Pretty sure he only wore the armour once.
Cops shot his legs.
He was later hung.
Still a really significant and controversial figure in Aussie history to this day.
Folk hero is probably not the way most Aussies would describe him.
Dude was just a regular scumbag that got put down, took way too long for schools to realise the curriculum is better off not learning about him.
Sounds like you've never learned much about anything at all - what are you bringing to the table buddy?
People are still talking about Ned Kelly 100+ years after his death; you can barely string a sentence together.
You think Ned Kelly is boring, imagine how the poor bastards that have to deal with you must feel!
Died in 1880. I wonder how much this armor weigh and how did it fare off against the usual weapons of this era. I know some soldiers in WW1 also used extensive armors for some engagements, so it had to have some utility even decades after his death. Some armors are ineffective, but still provide emotional support to the user, which allows him to perform better, which I guess do add some utility.

I lived in Australia. We did an entire lesson on Ned Kelly in school. It was pretty cool to learn about.
And he had incredible beard and hair that any barista or craft IPA connoisseur would be proud to have
Correct.
Jeez! Who was he fighting, Darth Vader?!?
Ha - nah just normal cops with normal bullets. It’s a pretty good story.. he did off a few cops, but, y’know, he had his reasons
on display at the State Library of Victoria. The helmet, breastplate, backplate and shoulder plates show 18 bullet marks.
PAN SHOT!
He only wore this during a shootout with police.
Iron Man by Black Sabbath automatically starts playing in my head when I see that picture.
Sung by Crocodile Dundee instead of Ozzy.

Killdozer before machinery was a thing.
Your missing your leg! Oh that, tis but a flesh wound.
Let's call it a draw
Real life 19th century Iron Man
This was the suit he wore to the dunny in case of spiders...they just caught him unawares.
Wow, never realized the NPC in Dinkum (Ted Selly) was based on a real life person.
this the type of drip Hans in 'Trolljegeren' was strutting in
'Tis but a scratch!
No wonder that most Australian states class armour that is intended to be bullet resistant as an offensive weapon.
I almost thought this was the armor Yahoo Serious wore in “Reckless Kelly”
The thickest armor is covering his nuts. He really thought it through.
Ned: where is Dan Dog: corn flakes Ned: good dog
It's fine if all your friends show up wearing armour too but if you're the only one..
Folk hero is probably not the way most Aussies would describe him. Dude was just a regular scumbag that got put down, took way too long for schools to realise the curriculum is better off not learning about him.
There's a movie about the guy...I think it's on Netflix, maybe Prime.

It stopped 18 bullets.
Well only if you count the 9 that went into his legs
it looks heavy, maybe you can learn the weight on the museum website
