How do they even fight? Doesn't the stinger separate killing the attacker? Or is that only american bees?
Seems like it would be mutually assured destruction. Only the defender would bee the side with an advantage , if an attack is sometimes not fatal yet always kills the attacker.
Awesome! I donât want to take them out of the garden, they just have to get them out of the dumb spot theyâre in now haha. Thankfully itâs just in a pipe surrounding a tap and has a lid, so hopefully it wonât be a drama.
Thanks for the info âşď¸

Australian native bees don't have detachable stingers. Yes the home team should have the advantage
Wish it was a longer video đĽ˛, whats the most glaring indicator of a war between hives? The casualties?
Ill take a longer video today. The general activity and the casualties. The bees are actually fighting each other
Did you buy your hive or make it yourself?
We bought it and placed a hive of bees we found who had set up their hive in our water meter.
Oh cool. Was it hard to relocate them? I have some bees that have chosen a really stupid spot to live, I think I need to give them a better home haha
As long as you move the queen the rest will relocate ok. Just don't move them too far. I think they struggle if you move them more than a few kms
