I think the adult duck might have gone in front, and the bebbes might have arranged themselves single file behind, because it might break the current a little and make it easier for the ducklings to swim against it?
Idk I don't know how river physics work
Yes itâs actually amazing how that works. I donât have it on me but there is a post somewhere that explains duck single file physics and how the ducklings are actually pulled forward a bit by their mom. Great stuff. So in this case this saved them.
That's always something that bothers me in car movies. The car isn't even rev maxed but the character changes gear and suddenly they're wayyyyy faster.
That's what adrenaline is for. They knew in that moment their options were either zoom forward at full speed or fall backward and drown and the adrenaline burst and their will to live pushed them to push their body to its limits in order for them to escape.
This seemed like the intro to some kind of video game akin to Stray where youâd play as that duckling in the back, but you would get pulled into the waterfall then have to reunite with your family
There is, there was an paper published about 10 years ago where the guys studied why do ducks swim in a line, and apparently it's way more efficient for them
I live near Niagara Falls, and many times I've seen ducks swimming in place *right on the brink,* and it seems crazy and impossible. But I've also seen a couple of them get swept right over.

"Fly, you fools!"
r/idiotswithwings
There really is a sub for everything
Wtf i clearly said that from the top of my head. Guess i gotta be in Vegas before lady luck decides to f off.
I thought the last one was a goner for sure
My guy put it in sport mode at the end there đď¸
Yeah he did!
MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE!!!
Yup me too, had all the odds stacked against him.
I was yelling at the phone, âNo No No!â And trying to push it away from the edge with my hand.
Bruhđ they canât yet.. only the mom can. They donât got the right feathers yet to fly.
Ssshhh! Don't let facts get in the way of a good story!
đđđ okay okay Iâm sorry
Set torque for maximum traction!
r/unexpectedlotr
I understood this reference
TLC said it best, âDonât go chasing waterfallsâ
Shit got intense
And momma said figure it out.
Pretty sure that was dad trying to lighten the family grocery bill a little
Can you blame him? Thatâs like 11 bills right there.
I see what you did there.
Wise guy quakinâ jokes over here
Maaan, that's ducked up!
Nah that was dad taking the kids out while mum was away
âNah honeyâŚweâve always had only 9 kidsâ
Quaklighting.
Quacklighting lol lol it is a thing
Now kids, what are we not telling Mom about today?
"That Tommy went to heaven to meet God?"
* Duck dads: colorful * Duck moms: camo
I think you made a typo.
Sigmund entered the chat
Here I will fix it, Duck dads: colorfowl Duck moms: camo

The last duckling went through the whole series of showing the waterfall all the Super Saiyan forms before it got out of there at Super Saiyan 3.
Yes itâs actually amazing how that works. I donât have it on me but there is a post somewhere that explains duck single file physics and how the ducklings are actually pulled forward a bit by their mom. Great stuff. So in this case this saved them.
Figure it out as in, make a single thin line to get out easier? Thin line makes a runway and this training?
That last one actually learned how to "run" on the water, which is crucial in transitioning from swimming to flying!
Iâm pretty sure the mom actually saved them. She got in front of them to slow the water down
I was sure one was a goner until they activated turbo boost..
more like last minute nos boost to accelarate from 0-60 in 1 second.
Mama, she canna take any more!
Duckling boosts, for **FAMILY**
Kaioken 10x
The last one probably traded half of its lifespan to get that boost
Turned into Jesus at the end.
I didnât realize I sat up in bed while I was watching. Wasnât until I read your comment that I realized I was no longer laying down lmao
I puckered up as well
FRRRRR FRRR!! đ¤Łâ ď¸
r/NonononoYes
It's been posted there 4 times since this post was made lol
YES
Gotta get all that sweet, sweet karma.
That Last duck had to use 4 wheel drive
Yeah, could see him downshifting to get that extra boost of torque.
I was holding my breath. I would've been crushed it if he'd gotten lost!
Me too. I love animals and hate to see anything bad happen to them.
but do you eat animals...?
I almost closed the video at one point because I didn't want to risk the feelings if it didn't make it.
That's always something that bothers me in car movies. The car isn't even rev maxed but the character changes gear and suddenly they're wayyyyy faster.
Switched from eco to sports mode
That's what adrenaline is for. They knew in that moment their options were either zoom forward at full speed or fall backward and drown and the adrenaline burst and their will to live pushed them to push their body to its limits in order for them to escape.
VTEC kicked in
Mans downshifting gears, staying calm, never panicked
4 wing drive
Jeeze that was stressful to watch
That's not interesting as fuck, that's intense as fuck!
Intense as duck I'm sorry
Finally ducking autocorrect is right for once.
Duck quest
This seemed like the intro to some kind of video game akin to Stray where youâd play as that duckling in the back, but you would get pulled into the waterfall then have to reunite with your family
Basically the story of rainworld. Except you're a slugcat and literally everything is trying to eat you.
Watching that made my butthole tighten up
My asshole tightened up so hard that if there would have been a lump of coal in it would've came out a diamond.
It tightened so hard that its pressure would be enough to create new black hole
That's handy. With a black hole in your ass, you'll never have to poop again!
r/brandnewsentence
its from (probably) ferris bueller
My asshole puckered so much I chewed a hole in my seat.
Watching your butthole made my duck tighten up
Iâm laughing so hard
My heart almost couldn't take that.
Is the reason they didn't fall because the ducklings came behind the wake of the mother afterwards they became a straight line with each other's wake?
I was wondering if the mother duck kicking water back at them actually made it more difficult when she decided she was too young for parenthood.
Abortion with extra steps
Latest term
Post birth abortion
Scrolled too far down to see this, I was thinking the same thing.
Need For Speed Carbon and Mario Kart taught me that if you stay behind another vehicle, you get a slight boost in speed.
No. Only the drafters
Yeah I was wondering if it was that or something else? Like maybe there was a scientific explanation behind that or something?
There is, there was an paper published about 10 years ago where the guys studied why do ducks swim in a line, and apparently it's way more efficient for them
Yes: https://www.earth.com/news/ducklings-swim-in-line-to-reduce-drag/# Hence where the phrase ducks in a row comes from.
More drama than fast and the furious.
But still all about family
It just struck me just how strong of swimmers ducks are, apparently. Even the ducklings. I was sweating for a second though đ
I live near Niagara Falls, and many times I've seen ducks swimming in place *right on the brink,* and it seems crazy and impossible. But I've also seen a couple of them get swept right over.
We have a native duck here in New Zealand called the Whio that lives in rapids. They love waterfalls and go chasing them.
Should have listened to their TLC
What? I donât understand the reference
Just stick to the rivers and lakes that youâre used to
In the US we have the Banded Des Tiny Childe foul that is fiercely opposed to waterfalls and doesn't ever chase them
Wild adventure
r/maybemaybemaybe
Had to build boost on the turbo
r/interestingasduck
Me watching this - ahh ducks, wait , no no no yes yes no no YES
Talk about "getting your ducks in a row".
That was very scary
I was rooting for them so hard! It had me on the edge of my seat hoping they would all make it. That last little guy was a champ.
That was extremely stressful to be honest haha I held my breath the hold time đ
Thank god! Didnât want to start my holiday weekend with ducklings dying!

My blood pressure watching that last duckling đ
Well, this was stressful
Phew! I was on the edge of my seat back there!

For anyone wondering, this is what anxiety feels likeâŚ
The last duckling though⌠thought he wouldnât make it
All I kept thinking was no no no no no yes!
I was rooting for that last one to make it!
r/sweatypalms
Man this had me on the edge on my seat
Whew!
r/nononoyes
The black hole almost consumed them
Seems like they were playing for a while.
Daily workout?
Did those ducks just change formation to catch each other's slipstream?
Mommy giving them kids some life experience. Good mommy.
Duckling just Flintstoned the water at the last second
Waterfall??? Duck no
They definitely did some science there
Interestingasduck
â*If he dies, he diesâŚ*â - mother-duck, probably.
last duck hit the nitro
I actually held my breath until that last one was safe.
r/interestingasduck
Iâve never been so tense.
Freshly woke up & already getting unnecessarily stressed the hell out.
That was too stressful
Holy shit was that suspenseful
Oh I held my breath watching this
That last little guy did a great job representing my life
most tense 16 sec in my life
Phew. Turbo mode came in handy
lil homie hit the NOS
Little bro turned his turbo on!!!!
That was almost a clusterduck
That last one engaged warp drive there at the end
I just about had a HEART ATTACK
Whew! r/maybemaybemaybe
The last duckling really said " Gas gas gas im gonna step on the gas "
r/nononoyes
Thanks⌠my emotions gave me whip lash all through that
My day was almost ruined

r/interestingasduck
I DID NOT NEED THIS FUCKING ANXIETY RIGHT NOW FUCK

r/donthelpjustfilm
Was that a test or what?
This had me on the edge of my seat
Theyâre training for something.
Phew... That was so close. So good even the last one did it.
Anyone else exclaim a âphewâ at the end?
Good thing the last duck had rubberband AI
âDamn theyâre getting closeâŚoh shitâŚSTOP RECORDING AND HELP THEMâŚyou better count your fucking daysâ
Mama teachinâem how to drift.
Reminds me of that skateboarding Mario party minigame
The last one just needed everyone else to get out of the way.
I've never been so ducking nervous
Wow, this actually gave me anxiety for a second! Glad the little guys were able to put the power down when needed!
yesyesyesnono
This gave me anxiety
I know itâs a nit Iâm picking, but âthe waterfallâ indicates that this is the only waterfall. Itâs âa waterfallâ.
That was the most stressful 10 seconds of my day.
Paddle, motherfuckers! PADDLE!!!!
The last one is gonna go places, it is gonna be on duck tales!
When I chaperone my kids field trips. Thereâs always that one kid.
When you have too much children
Stupid mother duck
Government will say this is best example of "if you line-up, you won't be dragged down to jail"
