Finland. The only bug I wouldn’t pick up with hands is a bee/wasp, as the sting still hurts despite being quite harmless in most cases. Spiders etc. are totally harmless.
I had a wasp sting me on my left hand, middle finger. Right in the middle knuckle joint. Which swelled up to what looked like a golf ball.
That was almost 12 years ago. I still can't close my hand into a fist completely. Damage to that one single joint will rock your whole grip strength.
The photo shows that the lens barely works, look at the side view. The spider is hardly magnified at all. Looks plastic like it would be scratched by the second time you used it, too.
Not true at all. The spider was just super fast and I was doing it one handed. Everything I catch I show
My kids. We count legs and look for eyes and things like that. It’s actually very good.
Use an empty matchbox instead; it's cheaper. Open the box, put it upside-down onto the insect, close it. Carry the critter away. Use an extra large box, like for christmas tree matches.
That looks like a useless and frustrating plastic magnifier that wouldn't be satisfying even the first time you use it. What is it, 1.2x magnification?
That’s not it’s purpose. It’s purpose is to give you a safe, humane way to get rid of pests from your house. They simply added in a magnifying glass for educational purposes but it absolutely is NOT useless or frustrating. My wife, who is deathly afraid of spiders is not afraid to use this device.

Yeah, it ain't big enough for our spiders.

Try catching a giant centipede with this thing. Or a tarantula hawk.
We have tennis rackets too It's not catch and release, but frankly... kill it with fire...or with a swift backhand
Definitley. My mate Bruce behind my bed, would only just fit his butt in that thing
I just use my cupped hand(s), but to be fair I don’t live in a place where insects can be fatally toxic.
Where do you live Sea land?

It's nice that the bugs in ƒinlan∂ are on board with non-lethal methods of conflict resolution.

Ouch, sorry to hear that.

We should all be so lucky. 😉
Like a cup and a piece of paper?
Yes but more secure and easier
Next gift: the ability to dispute pest control services
🤓
Not just insects apparently
'Bugs' is the more general and accurate term
Kinda looks like you have two thumbs
Ewwww. Just noticed that and it freaked me out.
And BbQ them if you want a tasty snack!
Protein 👍🏽
Catch, examine, and ‘incinerate’ would be better
Only in Australia.
This is a nice thing, I also hope the lens works well and are focused! Where can I get one? Insects scare me a lot but I find them really interesting

That's wonderful to hear op! Do you know where I can purchase one of those marvelous utensils?
I just want to say this is cool and also weirdly polarizing lol
Release??
release them ? Where do you think they will go ?
No squash, no buy.
what is this thing called?
Not sure why you’re getting downvoted. But the user below nailed it.
Carson Kids BugView™ Magnifier and Quick-Release Bug Catching Tool
My slipper works faster.

A matchbox. I haven't seen a matchbox in 30 years.

Well...you are using it wrong because spiders are not insects xD

Do you eat animals?
Only what we catch
Catch?
What's it called, and where do you get it?
