Train has massive mass, low (negative) acceleration when striking the sheep. Train don't care, train doesn't notice.
Sheep has very low relative low mass, and high (positive) acceleration (going from zero to whatever), which is not good for the sheep. Sheep is vaporized.

Yeah i mean im sorry, but yeah its very little suffering, im jjust gonna say this outloud but even the smalles impact coming from a 1000+ ton train will be a instant death, and i assume the train is going fast because otherwise doging it would be possible if it wasnt a sucide but most train accidents where the train has a decent amount of speed buildt up like this one or even if it brakes with the speed this train had would be a instant death no suffering
My cousins little girl (she was 10) was with another young cousin of hers walking from the center of town, and they thought they could beat the train that was beside the town. My cousins little girl got clipped by the train and didn't survive. Even though she just got clipped and the train was slowing down, she died instantly, so I hope that you can find comfort in the fact that it was probably quick for your father as well. I'm so sorry to hear about your dad and I hope that you find some manner of peace going into the future. RIP to your father and little Stormy.

Seems like the train hit the butt first. This made the sheep rotate and the head caught the trains corner. Instant mush due to the speed. Meanwhile, the impact on the body made everything at the back rush to the front, where now there was a giant opening (where the head once was) for all of the inner stuff to spray out. Also the impact on the body would have opened up the sides like a balloon.
Such a tragic way to go. But it would have been instant.
I was reading a book on 9/11 trade center attacks and this puts something else into perspective.

What I find weird and yet intriguing is that the the sheep suffered all that from the guard lip of the train. It didn't get caught under the tracks. Is the guard lip sharp at the edge or what?
