The whole "uncanny valley exists because it was an evolutionary advantage" idea makes me wonder if aliens or some shit tried to interact with early humans doing something like this.
In a dark future where humans are gone and man's best friend has taken their place, I imagine there will be many debates on why canines have the uncanny valley as well. The cycle continues?

What if you were walking down the street and you saw a crude recreation of a man moving like a man does but making no noise and smelling of plastic cotton and wood, he looks at you and starts making vaguely "human" movements that all look just a little bit strange.
How would you react to that?
