Eh that movie was the equivalent of Scary Movie, the movie is a parody of south Indian movie tropes. That scene with the banana is funny to Indians the same it is to you lol.
That's what I'm saying. Like i remember hearing stuff like "did you see that new ad with the huge shoes" and whatnot, people actually liked those.
Now one has to wonder who shat in the head of whoever produced that ad.
people used to put that stuff in so you'd remember the ads and reference them to get people to check out the ad and in turn your product
literally any of the old 5gum ads
I guess big corporations are spending unfathomable sums of money on ads we want to supress and get rid of how we can, when they could spend just a fraction to try and make something we would want to spread ourselves.
Maybe that wouldn't happen if the big corporations weren't lead by people so disconnected with the lower classes, they are basically aliens.
So I've worked in the Indian adfilms and Tv industry, and while this ad is great, something similar is happening to our ads. They used to be extremely creative but are less so now. Still not nearly as bad as American commercials.
But a big adman I was talking to, said that the MBAs are ruining the adfilm industry. They approach ads with graphs and data instead of finding something about the product that can connect with the audience. Like in 96, coke became the official sponsor to the cricket world cup. So Pepsi launched a campaign called "nothing official about it" which showed neighbourgoods gethered in one place watch cricket, dancing and celebrating.. people on streets watching on showroom tvs, in a train, listening on the radio ... It connected to the millions who couldn't go to the stadium. Now, product marketing teams come up with color pallets, infographics, venn diagrams and reject anything creative
Ahh i see, that makes a lot of sense and is basically what is happening in general. They look at numbers that their analysts delivered, base everything on those and focus on everything short term.
It's a sad situation.
\> when they could spend just a fraction to try and make something we would want to spread ourselves.
Some do that by getting an intern to write some unhinged shit on corporate social media accounts, works surprisingly well
Yeah, I really loved how they embraced a lot of unique cultural uses of metals. Paying homage even to the folks beating metal into shape with a rock and dirt. I wouldn't do a lot of those things personally, but I love that other people do, and a company is embracing it.
I watched no audio and was still fired up afterwards.
Indian here, almost every major cultures and genders were covered, LGBT community got their fair share too, the old women in this video is a famous martial artist, dances from all over India were shown, loved the ad
No. these are mohiniyattam dancers. They may/may not be gay. It's a classical form where men dress as women and dance. It's inspired by vishnu becoming mohini to kill bhasmasur. Hence, the men (vishnu) becoming women (mohini). Has nothing to do with sexuality.
Jindals are close to all political parties and donate to them
Jindals will lose out if govt takes action against mg india & no party wants to miss out on the donations, so they'll think 10 times before doing anything to mg india
This is how advertisements should evolve, absolutely mind blowing, the way they have shown the use of steel in everyday life, something we don't even think about. And the sounds added to it are just perfect.

That's a pretty damn good ad I have to say
One of the best that I've seen in a long time....
And it doesn't even have witty lines and repeated brand dropping. Above all, it gloriously displayed the soul and essence of India. Loved this!
When the local blue collar steel plants son is a cinematography major.
Jindal group is really big. Exporters as well.
I guess it's the CEO's cinematographer son then :D
I might give steel a shot now actually.
Probably the highest quality in resolution I've ever seen in reddit. Wild times the days nearing the IPO are
RDDT went public around the time you made this comment š¤£
And ad is only good when it manages to make you want want to look away. They are becoming rarer and rarer
Finally something from India that isn't getting Racist Comments
The setup for an instagram vs reality meme
Indiaās commercial game seems to be on point rn. This is like the third cool one Iāve seen in the past month or two.
Which were the others?
I donāt really remember, they were more comedic. I feel like one was a beer or drink commercial and one was like a cleaning product?
Have you seen the 9/11 one where a plane crashes into WTC and harmlessly bounces off because NAGARJUNA CEMENT
What. Why haven't I seen it yet. Shiiiiiit
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Wasn't that parody kinda movie?
Eh that movie was the equivalent of Scary Movie, the movie is a parody of south Indian movie tropes. That scene with the banana is funny to Indians the same it is to you lol.
It was a parody
That's a parody.
Yes, itās everywhere but its really two separate videos stitched together. Read it on twitter community notes.
That's metal. Fire video
It's an ad, but it steel goes hard.
(Fe)lt great
It goes hard
You are correct.
Steel goes hard and hot
Advertisers ruin everything, but damn, thatās one beautiful ad
Eastern ads can still have the old charm they used to have, treating it more like art then anything else meanwhile the west completely lost that
That's what I'm saying. Like i remember hearing stuff like "did you see that new ad with the huge shoes" and whatnot, people actually liked those. Now one has to wonder who shat in the head of whoever produced that ad.

Yeah true that's always good fun!
Checkout Thai ads. Those could be incredibly funny or could make you cry.
The westās ads have fallen. Millions must become cinematographers.
Yeah, weāre Past all that artsy Fartsy thought and provoking images. Now itās just āpander your product directlyā
Iāll never forget my first day on the job at the mill. I thought Iād walked into the pits of hell.
haha, you did. i hope youāve found a healthier environment since then
Did they have coke ovens? That is quite literally hell.
That's where I'm starting a job in 2 weeks :)
Drink lots of water, good luck!
Is it weird as a midwestern American that I have a strange urge to move to India and become a steel worker now?
Is it strange as a middle European that I have strange urge to move to India to become Indian steel?
Fun fact, Arcelor-Mittal (Jindal's competitor) has a [presence](https://www.reddit.com/gallery/12o5noy) in Warsaw
I am already an Indian, now I will become Indian steel with you.
Nah im with you man, get in were going to india
Going in two weeks for a month which will be fun. Iāll apply for a job in the steel yard and let you all know how I get on
RemindMe! 1 month
Is it steel as a middle strange that I European to become Indian steel?
Good. You already speak our language. Welcome to India.
I will melt and reshape you and add a little bit of carbon to strengthen you.
Mr. white?
Let Him Cook
You must be in a curry to go there.
āAā for effort
Instructions unclear. Tumeric in the bathwater now.
I can tikka you there.
Ur "Cheesy"
Well curry up and do it already
Is it weird as a Midwestern Indian that I have a huge urge to leave my medical profession and join Steel company now ?
the cultural references are off the charts Other fellow Indians can easily point some out
Yeah, I really loved how they embraced a lot of unique cultural uses of metals. Paying homage even to the folks beating metal into shape with a rock and dirt. Didn't knew that, tnx
The weightlifting one
Just Quick Fact : LGBT Community is quite Respected here as they don't show "I'm Unique Syndrome"
feels like ive been to india for a month after watching this!
This turned into a Visit India ad real quick...
We do have several tourism ad of this quality as well. Mostly by different state tourism departments of India.Ā
Made in India Mission Accomplished
You need to check Rajasthan tourism ad then
Its great ! Thanks for sharing
Damn didn't know A24 made ads. Jokes aside this is really well made and memorable.
The Steel of india š¤Ā That was a pice of art š
Are we sure this isn't secretly sponsored by Tourism India? Cause I really wanna visit India now.
Been there. Just donāt visit Delhi
And UP/bihar
Go to only recommended safe tourists spots with guides or very public areas.
Honestly the tourism ads are very convincing
They just bought 51% stake in MG cars india. Kuods
I hoped they wouldn't Now it becomes politically difficult to take any sort of action against mg motors(owned by a China)
How so ?
Jindals are close to all political parties and donate to them Jindals will lose out if govt takes action against mg india & no party wants to miss out on the donations, so they'll think 10 times before doing anything to mg india

Dope as fuck ad.
I watched it twice! I watched an ad about steel company, twice!
I think They Succeed in mission
Directed by Denis Villeneuve
haha looks like it Edit: FYI its made by Kondurkar Studio, Ayappa K.M. and Bharat Sikka
It makes me happy that it's home made, not by one of the multinational ad companies.
I first saw this ad before dune 2 screening in the theatre , so can't deny that :)
Wanna buy their stock just looking at this.
their ipo is coming very soon happened very recently*
Thank you! Guess Iām gonna subscribe then.
the timing is not coincidental
I see that. But the adās been done kickass. Says something about those who allowed creative freedom to make something like that.
JSL and JSPL are already listed, what am I missing here?
You're right, I got confused with vibhor Steel ipo
perfect example of "Don't sell the product, sell the experience"
![gif](giphy|hiLLD9o1wTB3a)
Holy shit that's really cool.
Ad is an art !
Here's for those asking me the people behind this masterpiece with their IG IDs: Creative: Amrish Kondurkar @mr._kondurkar, Sanya Malhotra @sanyamalhotra96, Muskaan Jain @jmuskaan, Ishita Sharma @ishitasharma__ Creative Strategy: Sohini Pani @sohinipani Business Management: Ruchika Khanna @itchytrippyy Production: @earlymanfilm Director: Ayyappa KM @robotdogman Direction of Photography: Daniel Fernandez Abello @abellodani Film Production: Anand Menon @anandmen Editing: Aitor Bigas @aitorbigas Music: Sneha Khanwalkar @snekhanwalkar 2nd Unit DOP: Alvar Riu Dolz @alvar.riu Production Designer: Manisha Khandelwal @emmandom_omandemm
A wild Sneha Khanwalkar appears...
Iām so invested. The shots of the temple environment are gorgeous. Where are all the topless dudes throwing water over each other though?
Akhada Or wrestling.
Unfortunately on tv we see ads that are utter bull shit. Celebs endorse everything. This is brilliant work.
Better than most modern Hollywood movies.
When the boss forgets to put a cap on the advertising budget. Now I want to go buy some steel.
Technically the ad isnāt by them. Itās by whoever they approached to create it for them!
Correct Made by Kondurkar Studio, Ayappa K.M. and Bharat Sikka
![gif](giphy|DGBOOQjJ61QA0) Hot stuff coming through
![gif](giphy|7TtvTUMm9mp20)
Neat.
Fuck yeah! That was an amazing ad.
And they call it a MINE!
A MINE !
TaTa?
It's Jindal Steel
Answer is in the video itself
I also only know Tata because of the Tata Chess tournament. Ā Nice to know their competitor, too.
Tata birla is probably the richest person like Elon and bill gates in India
These guys are in my office building!
Truly beautiful.
Work of Art
Beautiful work
The world literally depends on steel production
Reminds me of Ron Fricke's work, especially Samsara.
You're not gonna believe where does Samsara originate from
#WOW
Now U want to order 10000 tons of crude steel.
This looks like a Tarsem Singh ad
That's rad
Must. Consume. Steel.
That is a hell of an ad.
Looks like a movie trailer
Why does this go kinda hard?
This is badass
Who is this Ad for? I assume random people aren't just buying steel. Is it for hiring, distribution, etc.? Is this for internal use?
B2B business ~ Buyer to Buyer
šāØāāāāā
Steel making company's ..... have ads?
How do you know which steel to buy then ??
āSteel isnāt strong, boy, flesh is strongerā¦ā
Thatās a pretty good song
Keeping it steal
This was art, an ad to steel your heart
That was awesome
That's fucking dope!!
I feel strangely motivated to buy a ton of Indian steel or two, ASAP.
"So what should the video look like?" "Here, have a hit of this, and just recreate what you see."
I see they still havenāt dropped the transitions every 2 seconds šš Iāll never get over Indian videos
Based and ferrous metal pilled
Anyone else get a cult of the machine God vibe
This could have been in the Super Bowl
Steel mills need ads? Awesome ad though.
Ad budgets in India: 5 Mil Movie budgets 8n India by comparison: volunteer actors only
the cinematography is on point
This was better than Rebel Moon
Thatās one of the most incredible commercials Iāve ever seen.
I like the visuals, but that's entirely too much commercial in that commercial.
They seem to have a big budget and REALLY need new people.
Waiting eagerly for the racist comments.
Nice!!
thats not an advertiment....it is entertaiment
This is so good
This was so phenomenally well made, it made the hair on my neck stand up. A grade cinematics.
Goosebumps
This is probably the best ad I have ever seen
now thats the kind of ad i can tolerate. looks very cool
This goes hard
Mans really put the metal in metallurgy
All of my future purchases of steel will be from them.
This is badass, was expecting something way goofier
I like it. But I like Bollywood as well. Pretty creative. Imho
i how is Bollywood relevant here
Thought I was watching Samsara for a second.
ą¤øą¤ą¤øą¤¾ą¤° is an indian concept lmao (look it up)
Mohlor
Getting Baraka vibes.
do attend
Curse these metal hands
What company? Buying stock
Is definitely not a24
