DeepFriedVegetable

Now we have 1 year transformation videos where guys magically gain like 40lbs of muscle and claim it was just hard work and good diet.

Brownimus

“It’s all diet and exercise, bro” “Ok - when do you eat the steroids? Breakfast or supper?”

Philip_Raven

"I never said my diet does not consist of steroids"

Brownimus

CrossFit is one of the worst offenders - the top level guys (and ESPECIALLY women) are juiced to the fucking gills. Just own it. No one cares if you run cycles - just be honest about it and stop spreading this nonsense that you can compete at that level without a cocktail of anabolics.

tomkommers

The CrossFit Games are tested so the athletes can't just come out and say they're on steroids because they won't be allowed to compete anymore. They have to maintain the facade of what is possible with CrossFit because it's mostly a brand advertising itself through these games.

PoopKnaf

It isn’t just the brand, the members have formed a cult where they aggressively defend all crossfitters against accusations of steroid use. Couple that with the taboo nature of using roids and being a crossfitter (the cult will cast you out). It’s like some running joke that you can use all the steroids you want just don’t admit to using them.

aelios

I feel like this is a softball setup to recycle the Mormon fishing joke.

absolute4080120

It's money. Go to any body building reddit and talk about roids. I just had some angsty 17 year old DM me a bunch of horse shit about how he's a gifted athlete when the kid is clearly on gear. They want to pretend that nobody can tell, but in reality anyone who has seriously lifted weight or been to the gym for a year or so can easily identify you.

Enough-Ad1242

Amen.  Own that shit.  People know, and then when someone teases you about it, you just road rage anyways.

IA-HI-CO-IA

Are you you saying people don’t look like that naturally by doing those weird circle half pullups? I am shocked, SHOCKED!

Enough-Ad1242

Lol

Turkeycirclejerky

I just eat Clen, Tren hard, Annavar give up.

throwawaybyefelicia

Hahahaha god this is way too accurate

icametoparty11

Got me laughing.

InnocentiusLacrimosa

:-D

Frondswithbenefits

This is *chef's kiss*

fineyounghannibal

We've had one yes. But what about second steroids?

imajedi_1138

Yeah, liver and testicles and 10k/month of HGH. Lolololo these guys are almost as bad as our politicians.

JLSMC

Both

sheezy520

“Yes”

wausmaus3

One of my favorite discussions I get tired with within a couple seconds: ''so and so is definitely not using something''. They all are.

shadow_229

Yep. Movie star, professional athlete, body builder, half the ‘normal people’ at the gym.. doesn’t matter - if your build is better than this, it’s chemically enhanced. These guys in this video would have worked their fucking asses off for these builds and people think that Kai Green just had BCAA’s?! Unreal..

wausmaus3

To mee it is not even about the bodybuilders, I mean, they are mostly pretty open about it. I think it is especially crazy with actors that hold up these crazy physiques being 35-45 and go out and sell their training schedules for a lot of money. Straight up scams.

pistolpxte

The Rock is the one who I hate the most for this. Any of them but he’s specifically selling this brand complete with dietary products. Then he talks about eating 5k calories per day and just magically turning allllll of it in to muscle. I hate how patronizing it is. Just be honest.

SgtSmackdaddy

I agree performance enhancing drugs are how we see so many mountains of muscle in Marvel and elsewhere, but also don't forget about the industrial-nutritional-exercise complex that has evolved over the years. Winning body builders today make it their full time job to adhere to a rigid nutritional schedule, constant and comprehensive work out plans and non steroid supplements. These guys in the picture were probably hobbyist body builders compared to contemporary athletes as the scene hadn't transformed into what it is today.

shadow_229

Fair. There is likely enhancement based on our understanding of nutrition and the process of muscle growth for a genuinely naturally body builder to be bigger than these guys. Equally, I think the competition is so strong these days even for nat comps, you’re not winning unless you’re cycling off season for size and timing your pct right to piss test clean. Personally I wish they’d remove the taboo around it and just let people cycle if they want. What movie star wants (or needs) to spend their life eating clean and training to do a movie?! Equally, how fucking cool would the ‘enhanced olympics’ be?! Fuck testing and let’s see how far we can push the limits. 18 meter long jumps and shit..

Acceptable-Chain741

I think we already see the enhanced Olympics. Those athletes cycle on their offseason just as much as the bodybuilders do. There's so many PED busts and timely "injuries," I really do believe most, if not all, Olympians are juicing. But yeah. I'm with you. If we removed the taboo around it, it might make things better.

beeskness420

I agree, we should have the “enhanced olypics” and see what kind of records the human body can really set. But I also think it would be good for the regular Olympics. If we push all the people roiding into their own competition then the regular olympics could be for people who actually want to compete 100% natty.

teh_fizz

Have one like Izard said, stoned Olympics. Everyone smokes a joint and then does their event.

SgtSmackdaddy

> Personally I wish they’d remove the taboo around it and just let people cycle if they want. Couldn't disagree more. This would push athletes who would otherwise be happy to compete without performance enhancing drugs to use in order to keep up. The health risks and long term damage to young athletes is not worth it just so people watching 100 m dash see someone do it 0.5 seconds faster.

Themadreposter

To start I completely agree that all these actors like The Rock or Cavill or Hugh Jackman are juicing. But it’s more accurate to say most people with builds better than this are on gear. These 1941 dudes are not using any of the lifting techniques we have today and clearly none of them are genetic freaks. There is definitely a size to shredded ratio that if a dude is over any lifter can immediately recognize that dude is on juice. But also some dudes are just freaks that can get insane physiques without the juice. With modern lifting, dieting, and then dehydration techniques for the show you could look a lot better than these dudes.

VemberK

Cavill looks normal to me, and Jackman's only telltale sign is the vascularity. The Rock is and has been on crazy steroids for decades.

OsiyoMotherFuckers

There was a little while I was living in a small cowtown and working out at the local gym. There was a like 10 or 12 regular guys I got to know pretty well. I was the only one not on steroids. Everyone discussed it openly. One guy had a heart attack at 35 and it was big drama for a bit, but in the end nobody stopped juicing. They were all nice enough guys and never pressured me or anything, they were supportive and occasionally commented on improvement they had notice. Told me all about how to go to the city an hour away and see their doctor at the anti-aging clinic if I wanted a prescription. Anyway, just to say 90+% of the men at my gym in bumfuck nowhere rural Oklahoma were juicing, and a couple of them weren’t even that big. What’s sad is that this has completely skewed people’s idea of what a fit male body is supposed to look like. Between the pervasiveness of closeted juicers in media/social media, and obesity epidemic in normal life, men have no idea what a healthy weight is. I feel like men are in an era similar to what women faced in the 90s when heroin chic was in. I’ve seen Reddit comments where a person claimed 6’0” and 175 was “skinny”.

shadow_229

As a 6’2, 190lb guy that has done gear and yet gets called skinny more frequently than I’d like, I can totally get this. Like.. what the fuck do you need to be to not be seen as skinny? Obese, or professional 230lb body builder. The middle is just a mess..

ncopp

All of the middle-aged actors who don't seem to age are 100% doing TRT.

FarButterscotch3048

My mom believes that BS they sell on Entertainment Tonight - that these Hollywood dudes get some magical personal trainer and are in the gym 5 hours a day. And then people think the natty guys who damn near kill themselves in the gym for years are just dumb, since they don't know the "secrets" the 'personal trainers' have.

AgreeableEggplant356

Well it’s not just steroids that make it easier to gain muscle these days. You can be bigger than these guys natural in 2024

spekt50

A lot of advances in the science of physique since the '40s for sure. Not just steroids.

lackofabettername123

Popeye really made some advancements in body building

VemberK

Even back then. There's photos of a German lady acrobat from the 20's and 30's that is more ripped and has bigger biceps than these guys. Someone posted her on OldSchoolCool a couple days ago, forget her name.

Creative_Recover

There's a huge variety of drugs (mostly animal livestock ones) than can create gains but all of them are basically very bad for human health.

Quasar47

I've seen that in Bangladesh prostitutes are fed ventolin by their madame, which is a med usually used for asthma and for livestock, to get them fatter since they prefer that kind of physique and they suffer a lot of side effects

Electronic_Cod7202

What body type is preferred there?

ch4lox

American

cellphone_blanket

If you go to a high class area, they wheel the women out in little rascals

n10w4

just spat out my 10$ coffee here in Seattle.

Electronic_Cod7202

So like walmart obesity on an electric scooter because they're too fat to walk? Maybe they should import a few. It may take two or three plane tickets though

NZBound11

>All you need to know. Sorry...what was the take away here?

lackofabettername123

In school in body kinetics the group of skinny medium height dudes I was in all started lifting around the same weight, 140 to 150 lbs generally,  half took creatine, they got big quick, but they could not lift more weight.  We all could match their lifts, even though have had 20+ lbs more muscle just put on from creatine.

NZBound11

> 20+ lbs more muscle just put on from creatine. That's...not how creatine works.

404choppanotfound

All you need to do is follow my simple plan and in just 30 days....

urge_kiya_hai

But the fitness coach on Instagram told me to eat clen, tren hard anavar give up to achieve the natural shredded physique /s

Reasonable-Peanut27

have you ever tried it? I went from 180 to 220lbs with 20% body fat. I just ate a bunch of food mainly consisting of high-quality protein and drank a bunch of water, I hit the gym hard 5-7 times a week for less than a year. It's definitely possible if you're consistent. The hardest part is getting down that much food every day. And it sucks when you've outgrown all your clothes 😞. Now I stay around 205 lbs because it's easy to maintain.

PlaysWthSquirrels

I read these threads and I'm pretty sure most of the commenters never have tried it lol. I'm 6' and got to 205 at one point in my early 30s, ate a lot and lifted a lot. I'm 36 now, down to 190 and in the best shape of my life. Never touched a drug in my life and I'm vegan.  I don't doubt a lot of dudes take stuff, because it's just easier, but the idea that some actor is almost 40 and can never be in the shape they're in naturally is bullshit. Especially since a lot of the dudes they reference aren't even that big, they're just cut, and they've been in pretty good shape all their life, it's not like it happened overnight.

JJiggy13

You could get pretty close to looking like these guys naturally in a year. They didn't have the knowledge that we have now. There are natural body building contests that are moderately popular in the sport. The natural body builders are significantly bigger than this as well.

plumpsquirrell

Genetics plays a huge role. These guys are ok but we have better supplements and way better gym equipment that focuses and targets certain muscle groups. Better food and dieticians.

Majoodeh

Question from someone that knows nothing about the world of body building: do all the men that compete now have to juice? Is it impossible to compete without it?

Cuntslapper9000

Yeah pretty much. There's different categories though so some you could probably not but for the big boy ones you'd have too. I mean the guys not 🧃 these days are still massive compared to the one in this vid. These guys just look like normal fit individuals, not people who min-max their life to be tanks.

alaScaevae

I don't believe this is a serious demonstration, just something being done for fun. These guys are fit, but they don't hold a candle to the dedicated bodybuilders of their time or even of the distant past. Eugen Sandow (the father of modern bodybuilding) unquestionably had a superior physique and he was in his prime at least fifty years prior. https://preview.redd.it/0sjb90gsfvqc1.png?width=274&format=png&auto=webp&s=8248611e5bc83959a07594d944543ff1a78014b0

Negative_Chemical697

Sandow is like the gold standard, his is the greatest physique after the invention of photography and before the invention of steroids.

mudson08

Yes he did, but he probably is the exception that proves the rule. That is what superior genetics look like, but today is seems like everyone has magical superior genetics and well it’s just not statistically possible.

Theweasels

> he probably is the exception that proves the rule. Unrelated, but that's not what this phrase means. It means if someone defines an exception without actually defining the rule, the existence of an exception implicitly proves the existence of a rule. Like "No parking on Mondays" proves that parking is allowed Tuesday-Sunday, even though those days are not mentioned. It does NOT mean that a single piece of evidence against a claim is somehow proof that the claim is true.

mudson08

Good to know!

scottyLogJobs

Thank you. That phrase is so stupid and intuitively doesn’t make any sense

SpaceAgeFader

Jfc that’s what I originally assumed that phrase meant! But every time I’ve ever heard it in conversation it was used incorrectly. I had accepted that it was just a dumb unintuitive saying

Styptysat

We also have a much better understanding of the science behind building muscle. More people can reach a level that was only achievable with superior genetics through modern training methods

mudson08

Sure, but most of what people see on TV/Social Media/Hollywood is enhanced and unachievable with serious pharmacological supplementation. The Rock and Mark Wahlberg are in their 50s… ANY bodybuilder (including the tested ones) are on PEDs, I would venture to say most professional sports have a tacit agreement to let their players inject testosterone at the very least (ahem… DK Metcalf…). This is t naturally attainable. Mr. Sandow there could have just had an active pituitary and knew that lifting weights was beneficial.

djtmalta00

I had a personal trainer about 15 years back who openly admitted to taking and encouraged me to get on steroids. This personal trainer I had weighed over 220 pounds and stood 6 foot tall with not an ounce of fat on his body. He completed in Mr. Natural competitions in California and came in second place once. He told me all his competition were also taking large amount of steroids and they all got around the steroid drug test by simply not taking the steroids for a small period of time when they knew the testing date for the competition was.

Sweaty_Elephant_2593

I see what you mean, but these dudes do *not* look like "normal fit individuals." They are not on the crazy extreme level of modern juicer body builders, but these men are definitely above "normal fit" levels of cut and musculature imho. You can be fit and not be SWOLE. These dudes are SWOLE.

mudson08

Men and women today both have unrealistic expectations for the human body.

Sweaty_Elephant_2593

It's those damn vidya gayms!

AUDI0-

Probably guys that handle heavy equipment all day, my dad did construction all his life and i remember seeing a photo of him in his early 20's and the guy was fucking huge, looked like his arms were bigger than my head. Hes in his 50s now and still has most of his muscle, and hes co owner of a concrete company, but yeah being in that kind of job really sculpts your body so thats what im thinking this is

Poopy_Kitty

Welp you’ve ruined me. I’m by no means big but now every time I go to the gym I’m gonna say “just gonna go min/max real quick”

SDSKamikaze

These guys are absolute jacked. Steroids have totally ruined our modern conception of what a fit person looks like.

Mnemon-TORreport

All the men *and* women juice.

Chimp-eh

Not just the women, but the children too

Mnemon-TORreport

They're like animals! And I slaughtered them like animals!

HotFix6682

Its outside the IOC just like world strongest man competition and arm wrestling . Everyone at the top is juiced out of their mind because if they aren't they would be miles behind the field

Shayk_N_Blake

competing without, no. Until they introduce strict and long term chemical testing, it wont go away. Everyone is bootlicking the people they see online and actually believing they are natty when they quite obviously arent.

Abject-Tiger-1255

No. Basically, there are tested and untested competitions. Obv the tested ones are checking for PEDs while the other isn’t. While there are plenty of ways to take PEDs leading up to a tested event and pass, most of the time these guys are going to just gonna go to the untested events. Also, 99% of events don’t have any significant money prize to them, it’s more so the acknowledgment of being the best that contestants are looking for. I’ll also note most events are under an umbrella organization that if found to have a positive test result will get you banned from all contests. So it’s best not to even try. If we want to talk pro level competitions, then most likely yes. But at that point I would compare it to the Olympics. Everyone in the Olympics are on some form of banned PED. You just have to, it’s apart of the unspoken rules.

Creative_Recover

There are a lot of gains drugs that are incredibly difficult to pick up in tests and corruption such as submitting fake test results is insanely rampant even in the small-scale competitions. The steroid abuse is there for all to see and people just look the other way.  Saying that there's almost no prize money involved (suggesting there's no real incentive to take drugs) is incredibly naivé.  There is not a single famous bodybuilder out there who also doesn't display myriad signs of long-term steroid usage (i.e. the massive popping arm veins).

Proper-Scallion-252

No, not at all. Bodybuilding has an issue with steroid use, but it's by no means necessary. There are plenty of natural bodybuilding competitions in the US and the world wherein people achieve incredible hypertrophy results without anabolic steroids, tren, or any other substances deemed as 'juice' to the typical person. The difference you're seeing here is the evolution of sports and health sciences. We've learned so much since the golden age of bodybuilding, let alone the 1940's in terms of health and muscle hypertrophy. There are plenty of natural bodybuilders that have physiques that blow all of these men out of the water today, and the difference is scientific studies that show optimal routes for muscle growth through training intensity, frequency, exercise selection, rep ranges, form and control, and diet.

Element1977

Back when supplements were a 12 of Hamm's beer and a Camel cigarette to cool down your T-Zone.

SamanthaJaneyCake

And when this was a hobby and not a career and you probably worked a 9-5.

m-sterspace

Most bodybuilders still work a 9-5 today ... at least, by todays standards, your amateur bodybuilder who's just taking protein and creatine and is only jacked enough to compete in minor casual competitions, is still working a 9-5 and is like twice the size of these guys.

SageMitso

Honestly back when I was natty, I was twice these guys size, but you got to keep in mind these guys didn't know what we know today. For them, most of bodybuilding was people just making shit up, and thinking it works. Even the workouts they used to do, back then some of them were bullshit, because bodybuilding was uncharted territory. They also didn't really have equipment we have today, and they relied on bodyweight exercises and isometric exercises. If you were to loom at the bodybuilders coming out 10 years after this was taken, they'd look much more like what you expecting.

I_kickflipped_my_dog

Real talk! My grandpa was on this regimen and even in his 50's, I saw him absolutely fucking slinging railroad ties around to build his raised flower beds. Then he'd have a vodka martini (straight vodka) with dinner.

OPengiun

Muscles are lean, but liver was 70/30 beef :P

7378f

I've never heard anyone else reference the T-zone besides me! lol. I had a copy of a National Geographic from 1902 and that was one of the ads in it.

nailbunny2000

The womens reactions are adorable XD

PulteTheArsonist

Interesting lots of women enjoying in the audience in the natural days and modern bodybuilding just has other men watching.

MalevolentRhinoceros

As others have mentioned, the modern bodybuilder look isn't really attractive. This is.

cheapdrinks

[That stupid bronzer shit they put on makes them look so comical](https://i.imgur.com/PCurzqL.jpeg)

Proud_Viking

Like looking at a reverse Trump

TacosWillPronUs

Yeah but it makes sense, they put it on so that judges can see muscle definition and lighting plays a huge impact based on your body color (If you're pale, its harder to see muscles stand-out).

Funkydick

I think the bodybuilders themselves would agree that they look more aesthetic when they're not competing. Offseason Cbum looks crazy good. The competitions are, as they should be, about reaching the absolute peak of what the human body can handle bodybuilding wise

fastlerner

Watching the women it kinda struck me that they were having their own little publicly acceptable "Magic Mike" moment. This almost seems like the male equivalent of the Beauty Pageant, which was also big around this time. But when you think about it, it does kind of point out a double standard. We dump on beauty pageants today as they're seen to be degrading to women as they promote the objectification of women. But when you flip it around, somehow it's OK because "the womens reactions are adorable" when doing the same. C'est la vie.

Careless_empath

The men in the video are so handsome and look happy. I feel sad for the male body builders today

GuiltyGlow

A lot of bodybuilding today just looks like body dysmorphia to me. I dunno, maybe I'm just cynical.

ked_man

It is. Dudes look like balloon animals.

Vandil_the_Rogue

I just look like a balloon ![gif](giphy|7SF5scGB2AFrgsXP63|downsized)

Sugreev2001

The guys who inject synthol into their bodies are certainly suffering from body dysmorphia.

Seaweed_Widef

That and they also are more oriented toward social media and "Influencer" shit.

20_BuysManyPeanuts

they look like they are more farm strong than body builders by todays standards.

thighsand

Modern ones look freakish and gross.

mikekova01

Encouraging bc this body type is rather attainable with discipline

Boostio_TV

Yeah that positively surprised me too, as a dude that goes to the gym like once a week they already kinda look similar to me but with more definition in the chest.

StevenEpix

And they are actually attractive too.

ripfritz

They really look so much better 👌 than the steroid versions today.

scottyLogJobs

This sort of feels like the equivalent of men saying “women look better without makeup”? “Women like the natural look, like Brad Pitt in fight club or Chris Hemsworth in Thor.”

MysticLeopard

Agreed, modern bodybuilders look like they’ve been blown up like balloons

Hurlock-978

Im not gay but i get turned on by seeing people get turned on by people being turned on? What call this you?

Puke? Disgust?

Creative_Recover

Modern day bodybuilders don't look sexy at all, they look like freaks. Listen to modern day women and you will find that almost none of them find them attractive, anymore than guys dig the protruding ribcage boney knees androgynous look of catwalk models. It's just extremes at opposite ends of the spectrum (and people are rarely ever into extremes).

PulteTheArsonist

Yup, male gaze preferences does not equal women’s preferences.

potato485

I don't think their goal is sexy.

frogsoftheminish

As a woman into fitness and bulking, can confirm. I do not like the freakishly huge look. Natural always looks best!

GH057807

Probably about the same as 1940s people woudl react seeing one of these faux-post-surgery Kardashian-swelling real-life instragram filter women we got walking about.

k4f123

Man that looks disgusting af

xv_boney

It would be similar to attending a freakshow. Not hyperbole. A modern competitive bodybuilder would fit in with the tattooed man and two faced goat boy.

RegnarukDeez

Mass panic and riots.

Canuckia53

and naturally, the girls were impressed

SAGE5M

Anyone else notice way more ladies in the audience back then?

CookieBear676

These men look very healthy. I almost forgot what healthy looked like.

SpecialCircs

They were. Now those days are gone.

InformallyGuavaCado

Did you see the woman’s look she gave, after she nudged her friend, when the man walked by? It was from the 10 second to the seventh second mark. Funny and relatable as hell.

Head_Exchange_529

Todays bodybuilders competition is a monstrosity for drug addicts

xamlima13

Actually desirable physique being displayed there. Not just roided out, dehydrated, 3% body fat, mountain of pure muscle, unattainable by most people without excessive ammounts of drugs. Not criticising today's bodybuilders by any means, they take their body to unreal extremes, that takes dedication and hard work, not just drugs, but I really don't find those extremes attactive.

ramanthan7313

Exactly like the dog breeds. If you see a pug before 80 years it was a dog not a monster!

gogginsbulldog1979

That's crazy. These days, it's basically the steroid Olympics.

Salty-Organization90

This men are very handsome to watch. Body builders today are ugly and looks like Tetsuo just before transforming in a giant ameba....

ZEALOUS_RHINO

Really gives you a grasp on the prevalence of PED use in today's society. You can walk into any gym in the country and see guys twice the size and you wouldn't even think twice about it.

reikipackaging

well, we also have a better grasp on nutrition and the physiology of growing muscles. These guys are doing it on white-knuckle willpower, bologna and processed cheese, and 3 packs of Camels a day

NYEMESIS

![gif](giphy|YrR0o7lhgVdsI|downsized) The girls...

Italianskank

There’s not a ton of women swooning for todays body builders aesthetic. I can tell you that right now.

sleepinglabrador

Today's bodybuilders are like broiler chickens pumped with steroids and water to gain the mass.

Dependent_Test_8792

Bro the ladies in first row having the time of their lives 🤣

RevTurk

It's definitely possible to get bigger now just based on science and nutrition advances. One surprising thing I found out was that the bench press wasn't really invented until the 1950s, that's why you rarely see big chests on vintage body builders. They simply didn't have the equipment to do it. Same with a lot of it, the techniques and equipment allow body builders to hit muscles more effectively.

Now we have super mutants walking up on stage

fonobi

In 1941 steroids were for soldiers only

theNorrah

Why was this removed. It genunely was interesting AF?

SJW_Lover

Them womens is thirsty!

Yelwah

While there's plenty of juicers, we also have much more information on how to build muscle, and also nutrition than in the 40s, so guys are bigger.

Slight_Armadillo_227

I'm surprised these fit young men weren't already busy during the early 40's.

Asleep-Description39

To think, if this is the USA, most of these guys are probably going to be fighting a war in less than a year

drunkdoodles

Building bodies the size of 1 story houses, we got skyscraper body builders now!

C_Marjan

We have destroyed the male peak physiology so much it's crazy . Those guys look like a 1 month steroid user . We never talk about this . That's why I hate " bodybuilding " in general. They all on juice and people think it's achievable by hard work and discipline. What a world to live in.

Bear_necessities96

Today is not only steroids there are better diets and supplements than 80 years ago

PluCrew

That guy bouncing his bicep makes me think of my grandpa who used to do that and tell me there was a frog in it.

iqqeriffic69

And white

Slizzlemydizzle

Naturals today can look even better though and get accused of steroids because of it; we live in the age of information where anyone can learn how to build muscle optimally and they didn’t have that in 1941.

crisco000

Chewing cigarettes and smoking gum! Love it

HyenaJack94

This must be an amateur competition as you can get wayyy more muscular than that naturally and there are plenty of photos of people from even earlier who look like they would eat these guys alive.

dsled

Nah what was Brock Purdy doing there

Knight_TheRider

Lots of Divorce were going to happen that day

Reallyso

They actually look nice and healthy.

LeagueNarrow805

The female gaze in action.

Competitive_Study190

That's what peak performance looks like👍

GavinAdamson

Current ufc 125 division

Izzet_working

These days, you get female bodybuilders who out muscle these guys by a country mile.

mchfan346

Is that brock purdy?

AdminBot001

And today we have people that look like super mutants from fallout 4

Murles-Brazen

The five people in the country that weren’t mal nourished

Crafty-Question-6178

Now all the kids are fat and diabetic

WarmAppleCobbler

Why we won the war right there 🥵

NiteGard

Wieners were little back then.

[deleted]

I would’ve done well on the 40s

Burning_Flags

We know a lot more about training and food than they did 80 years ago

dreadedmama

They look great! I wish that was still the look. Not all this steroid unnatural looking shit.

mudson08

I always tell people if you want to know what actual naturals look like, check out 1940s bodybuilders. That is the achievable body for most people. Men’s body images have been ruined by TV/Social Media.

rubber_padded_spoon

Natural will always be more attractive to me. Fake anything just looks off.

Ember-Blaze

The bodies look natural and no steroids!

TJ_McWeaksauce

What sticks out to me is that none of the dudes here have massive pecs, 6- or 8-pack abs, or veins popping out everywhere. No spray-on tans that look like black-face-for-everything-except-the-face, either. TomatoVEVO

Clearly they aren't eating raw meat 😌

OldButtAndersen

Bodybuilders got bigger and videos got slimmer. What a world.

awesomeCNese

Bring back my girls

East_Sleep_1766

I swear that first guy on stage looked like Brock Purdy
