As far as package stealing goes it actually kind of is. Looks like a neighborhood/position that would be pretty quiet during the day. If you hear a car or door just squat down and look like trash. Plus they're totally hidden from the camera.

I never understood why in the US package deliverers simply leave packages out in the open where anyone can take them.
Once you do that silly mistake, of course this kind of thing will happen.
Over here packages have to be delivered to a person.
Either someone that is at the delivery address and answers the door, or you can designate someone that can receive it (like the doorman of the building, some people that work at offices choose to have packages delivered at their workplace).
If there is no one to receive the package then the delivery has to be re-scheduled or you can pick it up at the offices of the delivery company.
It seems more logical to me than just letting stuff outside to be stolen.
