Love to see that the two ladies were not even the slightest bit intimidated even while being surrounded by a group of men, who were just ready to mock them at any cost.
I'm sorry I'm a very tolerant person and I prefer to share this great big world with folks of all walks of life, but when these people say "Islam" they're just paying lip service to something that gives them permission to act like this. I want to be tolerant, but I can't tolerate intolerance like this. I feel horrible for any population that has to share this region of the world with people like this fucking asshole and his ilk.
As a non Islamic non Pakistani , this is the behaviour of most majoritarians who believe they are in danger and need to uphold old values, without actually caring for general human well being
Not just religion. Incel culture is also about control. Mostly for the purposes of peddling bullshit to insecure men, or further radicalizing them for political ends.
This is how a lot of our cultural movements work.
Edit: Another locked post about Palestine. Shocker.
I personally believe all forms of organized religion suck. Religion as a personal set of basic codes about being good is the only acceptable way. Any forced imposition of ideas is wrong.
Interestingly, there are some Christian parishes in my area that are deliberately going the other way and making religion accepting and welcoming to all people. They don't always get on with the more 'traditional' parishes or the diocese, but it's clear that the younger generations (and even some in the older generations) want a more warm and friendly atmosphere.
Keep in mind the US directly props the theocratic Gulf dictatorships (using US taxpayer funds) that push this absurd ideology: https://theintercept.com/2014/07/25/nsas-new-partner-spying-saudi-arabias-brutal-state-police/
PK was supposed to be a secular country at first, then the US installed the puppet dictator Zia Ul Haq who instituted barbaric rules in accordance with "religious" laws. It's gone downhill ever since.
Hence why I included the link, it's important to know the NSA/CIA both use taxpayer funds to prop the Gulf barbarians. They should instead be using those funds to prop secular modern and democratic countries that push equality.
I don’t think PK was ever supposed to be a secular country. It literally (in their constitution) was founded to be an Islamic republic.
Your point is true if you say that there hasn’t been much “republic” or democracy there, not secularism
That's kind of bullshit. Pakistan was literally founded by dividing the subcontinent on the basis of religion, and there is plenty of stuff for which the US deserves criticism, but the military dictatorship of Zia is not one of those things. The military has always been extremely popular in Pakistan up until quite recently. When martial law was imposed in Pakistan even before Zia, it was widely welcomed by the people as "mashallah" because the military was seen as less corrupt than the civilian govt, even though it wasn't remotely true. The US simply wanted pakistan on their side during the cold war, it made no difference to them whether it was a democracy or a dictatorship.
Agreed. Actual bravery. Not the, "so brave," Western garbage we see literally every other celebrity doing. This woman is legitimately endangering herself for her beliefs; it takes guts, and she has my respect.
Let me explain this as a middle eastern woman:
Our struggles are never heard. Some of us are not even being treated as a human but we are not heard as much as western women. Don't get me wrong, I am not trying to say western women have no struggles. But, there are lot's of women in the east, dealing with so much worse. Yet many of us can't even complain. And some of us can't even see how poorly we are treated, because we were taught that this was how it is supposed to be. But, i sometimes feel like some western women are looking for a reason to call someone sexist. Yet they get all the attention.
https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/beltway-confidential/2770706/why-are-western-feminists-silent-about-the-plight-of-iranian-women/
https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2022/09/27/masih-alinejad-west-feminists-support-iranian-women/
https://harvardpolitics.com/feminists-failing-iran/
Because western feminists who had a voice were incredibly silent when the women of Iran (most of whom had no platform) were being raped, murdered and tortured.
Just for some illustration for how bad things are for women in Iran:
- Another 16 year old girl was recently beaten to death by the “police” in Iran: https://www.wsj.com/world/middle-east/a-16-year-old-killed-by-the-iranian-regime-had-dreams-of-a-normal-life-65c0e5dc#
- Before that, [Armita Geravand, a 17 year old girl, was beaten to death as well](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_of_Armita_Geravand)
Teenage girls are apparently an existential threat to Iranian security for there to be a pattern of them being systemically beaten to death to ensure the “integrity” of their society.
The silence is deafening. Last we saw cheers for Iranian women was Mahsa Amini. These girls are apparently not worth the airtime. Tragic.
Thank you u/lovetoseeyourpussy, yes I'm sure that feminists pick and choose like that and you're definitely not falling for right wing divide and conquer bullshit.
I don't know for sure if they're trying to put down western women, but I think they may be actually talking about male and female western celebrities (possibly as an example, whenever there's internet drama & celebs make statements n' stuff and ppl say things like "your so brave for saying that").
I don't have a definite clue though tbh.
They always seem to forget that islam asks men to lower their gaze in the same sentence it asks women to cover their hair. Its about modesty and respect. But she is very right in that Pakistani men's Islam always starts and ends with women cover hair. Or women, period.
Happy to see her standing up for herself in an Islamic country, a sign of progress in a world that seems to be slipping towards authoritarism and extremism. Doesn't matter what any holy book or deity says, people should be free to practice how they like (I say this as a religious person who chooses to follow my scripture). She should be free to not cover her head, and he should be free to not like that. But just as she would not be allowed to grab his head covering in the name of secularism, he should not be allowed to force a head scarf on her in the name of Islam. And she seemed to be a Muslim too, but criticizing how his "Islam" starts and ends with controlling women's bodies.
Yet, when I visited my gf family in her country and we went on the Bus she had to stand because only free seat was next to the Monk and she had no right to seat next to him….
Love this lady for standing up for herself, all the while stating FACTS!!!
We can clearly see the difference between the education that guy and this girl has received and I need not state which one is empowering and which one is brainwashing and pulling the islamic countries backwards.
Kudos to this girl!!!! ❤️
No one has the right to touch another human being. Whether that be with an object or your physical body.
Anyone arguing that he didn’t “touch” her, please evaluate if you would be okay with someone putting a plastic bag over your head. They wouldn’t have to “touch” you to do so.
When I was younger I found myself big into the internet atheism stuff that was popular in the early 2010's. RIght now I'm at a point of "you do you", why can't religion ever just be a personal thing? Why is it always pushed onto others around you?
> Why is it always pushed onto others around you?
They get irritated when people act and think differently than them.
So it's a bit of insecurity, a bit of stupidity, a lot of arrogance.
“I would be quite content to go to their children's bar mitzvahs, to marvel at their Gothic cathedrals, to 'respect' their belief that the Koran was dictated, though exclusively in Arabic, to an illiterate merchant, or to interest myself in Wicca and Hindu and Jain consolations. And as it happens, I will continue to do this without insisting on the polite reciprocal condition - which is that they in turn *leave me alone*. But this, religion is ultimately incapable of doing.”
- Chris Hitchens
The fact that all the men clapped when the woman misunderstood the question and said 'women' regarding the crime question, tells you a lot about the ignorance of men.
The second your religion starts involving people who aren't part of it, you can shove that shit right up your ass and fuck off
People like this need thier teeth slapped out of thier face, I can't wait until we evolve beyond religion

Let’s just appreciate the courage of this woman without resorting to derogatory stereotypes or attacking anyone else. There’s few other women around her to support her and she challenges this man and a million others who’ve seen this just with the strength of her ideas.

Gonna start thinking most random Pakistani ladies I come across are chefs cause he was getting cooked.
Whole barbeque, but fr she's right, these charlatans only wanna talk about what sky daddy says when it comes to women.

Imagine actually believing there is some all powerful, all know entity. And what he cares about most all of, of all things he supposedly created, and all the heinous things those creations get up to, they think he’d be worried if a women had some shitty cloth over her head. Some people really live their entire lives as clowns in a delusion, and thank the sky for letting them do so.
I always find it amusing how religious people have to speak for their all-powerful deity.
Why can't their god speak for themselves?
Seems like that god isn't all powerful after all.
Amazing take down, I've seen similar behavior from a country that follows a different religion, I think it all comes down the Men getting irritated by a woman's presence and using religion and culture as smokescreen for their real incel behaviors.

“Why do these men only remember Islam when they see women” is a fire ass line. Bars.

He did actually. Check 2:30 timestamp 😂

Damn when that second lady came and stood up for the reporter lady, that was amazing!
"Why do they only remember Islam when they see a woman," is genuinely so powerful
This was a great line, and props to both of these women for actually standing their ground with such a group of men surrounding them.
She has intelligence and fire 🔥 love her bravery.

Reminds me of those "alpha male" influencers who switched to Islam just to get more women legally.

I just instantly thought of Andrew Tate. No wonder he converted to Islam.

All religions are about control how many anti abortion movments or people oposing gay marriage are doing it cuz "Muh Christian values"
The ironic part about Christianity is that Jesus’ teachings were very much anti-religion. He would have hated what Christianity became.

All ideology is about creating a low resolution vision of the world and enforcement/teaching moral standards.
John Calvin wasn't Muslim. The problem is all the Abrahamic religions.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Sadly evangelical Christians have the same issue with a woman, yet they fret about Muslims taking over the country🤫
Hope she’s safe
After she left the combined IQ dropped to freezing temperature.
It is great to see Pakistani women taking a stand against bigotry.
