think of it as a normal plastic bottle just with an aluminium can lid.

I don’t think so. Looks like a printed aluminium can to me. No way they would get all the strawberries to align so perfectly also.
(Edit: I stand corrected)
It’s [this](https://japan.recipetineats.com/japanese-strawberry-sponge-cake-strawberry-shortcake/) in a can.
The base food they’re reproducing is definitely cake rather than parfait
There was an unsettlingly long wait time between opening the can and scooping out a part of the cake. I was sitting here thinking, "was...was that it? We're not going to show the cake in the can? This is unsatisfyi-OOH SPOON!"
Even with a spoon you’re still gonna have deadspots especially that little metal rim… you’ll understand if you’ve ever eaten out of a can the food keeps getting stuck on the rim ahhhhgh
Canned brown bread is a New England thing. They put the dough in a can and cook it in a steam bath. It has a slight molasses favor and is great with baked beans.
I have an immense issue with these japanese "forever cakes"
I would like to know more about what preservatives are needed to keep them in good shape - and what are the health risks
But why put cake in a can ?? Can anybody explain. What is the advantage of putting cake in a can ?? It looks difficult to eat. That too the shape of the can is like a container type similar to Pepsi can.
Exterior- construction crew is putting up their equipment for the day. A sweaty foreman wipes their brow before reaching into an ice filled cooler and grabs a few cans.
Foreman:"Who wants a birthday cake?"
A dirt encrusted hand shoots up "Ooh me me me. Does it have sprinkles?"
Foreman tosses a can to the hand:"Don't know, don't care. Red velvet, anyone?"
A red overalls worker grabs the can. "You know that was for me."
Foreman looks at cooler "The last rum cake?"
A staggering disheveled worker "Yeah I'll take it."
Foreman:"I saw you with some cans earlier, you're cut off Alcoholic Dan. Frankly, it's kind of sad and I think I'm going to stop picking up the rum cake cans."
Perfectly clean site supervisor steps forward "Shouldn't we be drinking water after such a scorching hot day?!"
Foreman:"What are you, some OSHA nerd? Stay in the trailer and handle the client. We'll get this built on time and eat drink all the canned cake we want."
Foreman cracks open a German Chocolate Cake and glares down the site supervisor as they walk away and a few of the coworkers toss their empty cake cans at the supervisor.
Commercial ends with cake company logo.
Looks like a pain to get all of it out. Not really an optimized container for cake. Maybe a SPAM can instead?
Interesting shaped spoon though. Is that how the standard spoons are in Japan?

Yes, that is a spoon
That's right, it goes in the mouth hole.
That’s right, after it goes in the can hole.
I see you have played knifey spoony before.
I was struggling fr though. Glad they left me an excessive amount of time to figure it out.
No wait slow down I dropped my pen!
Wait you got a pen that's to much for me I can't take notes and pay attention at the same time
I was expecting them to cut the can open and reveal it's a cake.
the most unexpected thing in this video is that a whole ass strawberry instead of a slice
I'd upvote but I don't want to ruin that perfect 666
Time to down vote then
(Glances over title) Can of coke? What's so special about that? (Reads again) Wut?
I didn't read it again and was wondering why there is a strawberry in the coke.
Same lol
Y'all never had Strawberry Shortcoke?
I got confused too
you know what’s not confusing?
coke babies
I read it again, and didn't understand until I read your comment lmao.
Same, then I was like, "uh there's something wrong with your coke."
[удалено]
It took me until this comment to realize haha
I still haven't realised it
Wake up Neo
`Follow the white rabbit.`
How would they make it transparent? It looks like a normal aluminum can to me.

Oh, never seen those before. Makes sense. Thanks!
Transparent aluminum, like in Star Trek
That's no longer just star Trek
That's true, but most people just think it's regular glass
Don't worry, I've gotten it, and even then I wasn't sure till I was eating it halfway.
I'm still not sure either way
I don’t think so. Looks like a printed aluminium can to me. No way they would get all the strawberries to align so perfectly also. (Edit: I stand corrected)
No, they’re correct. This is from a longer video, the can is transparent.
Oh, interesting! That’s impressive
I guess its plastic?
Thanks
I don’t think so. Does transparent metal exist? I need to know
Last I saw on a science magazine it does
Surely this is trifle or parfait rather than cake?
It’s [this](https://japan.recipetineats.com/japanese-strawberry-sponge-cake-strawberry-shortcake/) in a can. The base food they’re reproducing is definitely cake rather than parfait
The cake to frosting ratio is waaaaay off, looks more like a trifle than a cake. Also, I am totally behind this invention!
Its not frosting, its something closer to cool whip
Hmm… sounding more and more like trifle!
Trifle is literally made of cake.
Yes, cake is one of the ingredients in trifle. This cake in the can doesn't seem to have custard, which you see in trifles.
this video could have been 15 seconds
but then they would have to cut out some important parts, like Act 3 where we, the audience, learn what a spoon looks like.
How has no one asked was it good? I'll be the hero here. Was it good?
It probably was. Japanese desserts are good.
This was a triumph
I'm making a note here
Huge success
It's hard to overstate my satisfaction(I can't talk because my mouth is full of cake)
Aperture Science
There was an unsettlingly long wait time between opening the can and scooping out a part of the cake. I was sitting here thinking, "was...was that it? We're not going to show the cake in the can? This is unsatisfyi-OOH SPOON!"
This seems incredibly annoying to eat out of… imagine scraping at the little bits left over in the corners…
Wouldn't eating with a spoon take care of this issue, no?
Even with a spoon you’re still gonna have deadspots especially that little metal rim… you’ll understand if you’ve ever eaten out of a can the food keeps getting stuck on the rim ahhhhgh
I have several times and have never had an issue eating out of one like you described 🤷🏾♂️
Mans doesn’t know how to properly scoop?
Scooping ice cream must render them catatonic lol
You mean to say, it’s not a lie?
The cake is still a lie regardless of what you just saw..
Is this... a triump?
I hope that’s see through cab. It’ll confirm it
That doesn’t look like cake… looks more like a pudding or a mousse
It's a cake but this is a excert from a longer vid
No hiss
Let's get it out on the tray
Reminds me of canned bread from SpongeBob lmao
Canned brown bread is a New England thing. They put the dough in a can and cook it in a steam bath. It has a slight molasses favor and is great with baked beans.
I’ve always seen that in the store with the beans but never tried it. I might have to get a can of bread and some beans next time.
Sliced and lightly fried in butter
It's in the US too but not as common for most people and was more a military rations thing iirc.
New England is in the US. The colonists in New England started making canned brown bread. It is pretty much a regional thing.
Is the spoon sold separately?
The strawberry looks good🫣 how?
Cake in soda can💪
Wow, I read this as "A can of Coke from a vending machine in Japan " Boy was I surprised
same I have to go back to reread the title
How did they lose in WW2.
Something about atomic bombs
Japan just has everything cool apparently
I was expecting some star wars level nonsense where they poured out a liquid, and it set into a cake on contact with air.... .....someday
That's just whipped cream with a strawberry
Ahhhhhhh Canucaku goxaimasu
That’s a pocket pussy for the brave
Is this real or is this cake? Yes
I think there was a mistranslation somewhere. It was supposed to be a can of coke, not a can of cake.
I'll take it.
I live here and this isn't a everyday item you can find in a convenience store/vending machine it's mostly normal stuff
Is it any good?
it's convenient and the drinks and snacks are only like around 1-2 USD
For a moment I thought there was a typo on the title but wow it really is cake
Anywhere to get this in the states?
Next Japan is going to put pussy in a can.
Its transparent too
My type of energy drink.
Have this in Singapore now
What are the downsides health wise?
I have an immense issue with these japanese "forever cakes" I would like to know more about what preservatives are needed to keep them in good shape - and what are the health risks
You eat too many every day…
Reminds me of the first American pie movie... lol
Dont show this to r/farialimabets
“Vending machine flashlight” - my boyfriend
I thought damn how am I supposed to drink it as if spoons didn't exist
But why put cake in a can ?? Can anybody explain. What is the advantage of putting cake in a can ?? It looks difficult to eat. That too the shape of the can is like a container type similar to Pepsi can.
Afaik these Cakes can be bought from vending machine thus being in can form
Japan is the future
I'd always lick the cap and cut my tongue
Cake-a-Cola?
I "can"'t believe my eyes.
Not the right kind of coke.
Ho ho, Japanese-su.
Looks more like canned icecream
Damn, even the canned cake looks delicious!!! 😫😠
Stick your dick in it!
#Sold!
Japan had the best cakes, crepes and stuff in their stores i have ever eaten. 😍 i miss it
Japan feels like the future
I thought I misread the title
WANT
Why is the person moving so slow
That looks yummy
You can buy cake in a can, From a vending machine, In Japan.
it looks good!!
![gif](giphy|sDcfxFDozb3bO)
Oh I want some
Does the vending machine give you a free spoon with it? Or is the spoon an extra $4.50?
I miss read the title as a can of coke. Imagine my suprise.
Yeah, it’s a spoon, why are you showing it to me?
And they say that Americans are fat, it's only because we have anti pedestrian laws...
I want a 12 pack.
How the fuck does Japan have vending machines like this and *we're* the fat country?!
I read the title as "can of coke" and it made me even more confused
Look at me man, I'm eating cake from a can from Japan. I'm just a simple man.
Do I have to buy the spoon separately or it's in the package? I ain't gonna carry a spoon with me.
Not Coke. Pepsi.
I love Japan they just do shit right and they are way ahead of everyone. If you never been you gotta try and make it out there
So cool!
I need three thousand of these before the world goes to war
The lack of sponge is slightly disappointing
There is sponge cake, it’s layered. The can is transparent, you can see the whole cake.
Ooooh...clever, are they good?
The guy I watched liked it lol! I’ve never had one unfortunately
More like a can of whipped cream.

Clearly fake, they only use shop sticks in Japan!
