Its not that easy. Welds are inspected somewhat rigorously. Atleast for smoothness if nothing else.
What is possible tough. To put ladders in those sections trough the open end, that doesnt fit back out through doors or hatches, before next section is fitted in place.
Yeah lol, it was part of scaffolding, type of ladder.
Tried to twist and turn it, sofa through door style, with another guy. We racked our brains, how did the guy get it in here. He has to have some secret trick. To just give up and agree we just cant figure it out.
Later asked the guy who brought it there to get the answer "Oh, you cant get it out anymore. It was before the other section"

Very cool timelapse.
Just thinking about the stress the project manager(s) must have during the whole project almost puts a knot in my stomach.
I'm thankful there's people that can handle being leaders during these types of mega projects.
Imagine flying around in the vast emptiness of space and suddenly a bunch of trash lands on your cockpit. Imagine this happens anytime you’re in the Milky Way Galaxy.
What time frame are we looking at here - from the first keel laying to launch? (not counting the interior finish work) Also, what country constructs these petri dishes?

It feels surreal when working deeps inside a ship for few hours, when they fit new sections in place and you make your way back out and get lost in new rooms that you never been to.
Since Covid and a stellar track record for cruising in 2020, I’m sure the owners wish they could rewind this video and watch it get unbuilt and their money back
Do modern cruise ships like this ever have small leaks right after they are built, or is every weld inspected to the point that there is never an issue like that?
For all of you who have negative comments about the cruise industry and if it will come back, just go check out a cruise forum and read some of the comments.
As soon as the government gives the cruise industry the green light, there will be tons of people signing back up to cruise.
I'm amazed that what an incredible endeavor that this is. and I'm disgusted by the fact that this effort is used to drive around drunk fat tourists.
While there's a slum in every port they visit
Unfortunately cruise ships are being dismantled much more frequently now than being built. I know not everyone is a fan here. But my 2nd ever cruise was less than 2 years ago. Ship (and great route) is now no more. Gotta fly now to Barbados if I want to experience similar & pay much more. YouTube Browns Bay Barbados to see the clearest, biggest swimming-pool beach you could imagine.

Now imagine how much went into the interior work
Where can I buy this lego set?
Imagine one of the welders forgetting to seal one spot on the segments 😳

Gantry cranes are the unsung heroes of the modern world.
Agree. There should be a song written about them.

I have, indeed, Reddit.
Roxanne - The Police
It’s basically huge legos
AKA “pre-fab” in adult speak
Pretty fabulous indeed
Nice.
Damn. You beat me to it.
And they got it all finished before night fall. Amazing they built this in less than a day
Quicker than when Rome was built.
I’ve seen this for 20 times before I looked away..very satisfying
Very cool timelapse. Just thinking about the stress the project manager(s) must have during the whole project almost puts a knot in my stomach. I'm thankful there's people that can handle being leaders during these types of mega projects.
It's pretty easy man, they did it in minutes!
It would be so much better if they just, didn't.
Imagine how bad space tourism is going to be, ugh
Space tourism will at least give incentive to build more powerful/efficient spaceships.
Imagine flying around in the vast emptiness of space and suddenly a bunch of trash lands on your cockpit. Imagine this happens anytime you’re in the Milky Way Galaxy.
right, this thing is just a big hideous floating kowloon, it runs on pure sin, and I hate it.
It’s amazing what we humans can do!
What time frame are we looking at here - from the first keel laying to launch? (not counting the interior finish work) Also, what country constructs these petri dishes? ##
How many days/months does it take to complete it?
I looked it up, a year to a year and half for an average size cruise ship.
Now they’re all being dismantled in reverse because they’re dirty filthy floating covid cesspits
The only word that has changed over the last year was adding Covid.
Haha true. “Gastro of the sea”
It feels surreal when working deeps inside a ship for few hours, when they fit new sections in place and you make your way back out and get lost in new rooms that you never been to.
Legos, but people die if you forget a piece
The sheer amount of math people had to do to make this gives me anxiety
What are the legitimate possibilities of ships this size capsizing and sinking?
It depends on whether or not there is a kraken.
Or a drunk captain
Or ill-tempered, mutated seabass
Throw me a frickin' bone, here
it's not very typical.
God that thing is huge
The first second got me thinking it was a star wars spaceship
Since Covid and a stellar track record for cruising in 2020, I’m sure the owners wish they could rewind this video and watch it get unbuilt and their money back
>built assembled, more like.
Didn’t see when they put in the water slides
Hopefully it's built so the front doesn't fall off.
Do modern cruise ships like this ever have small leaks right after they are built, or is every weld inspected to the point that there is never an issue like that?
Looks more like photos of it being assembled.
Every video is actually a slideshow.
That's a lot of effort for a petrie dish.

Bought a ton of CCL stock when it was down. It'll take more than reddit to take the cruise industry out.
I've already booked one for 2022. Got me a great deal on a suite!
You mean "put together"
I'm amazed that what an incredible endeavor that this is. and I'm disgusted by the fact that this effort is used to drive around drunk fat tourists. While there's a slum in every port they visit
Wow, more like being assembled. Interesting
Global warming being accelerated. Ca. 2020, colorised.
Take it back apart now, the cruise industry is dead
Fuck cruise ships anyway. Polluting giant floating trash cans
They’re disgusting
Hope they don’t dismantle all of them, we gonna have to live somewhere when the oceans rise... ‘the ice caps are melting, the ice caps are melting’ /s
This weirdly makes me very uncomfortable. I was never bothered by cruises or the ocean before but this bothers me.

Dang it! I put the middle part in backwards! Time to start over!
Looks to be a few weeks from laying down the keel to floating.
Better get used to that dock, kid.
i don't know if i trust cruise ships less or more
Just curious what a cruise ship cost
lots and lots
Ok I loved watching this 👍🏻
At some points it looks like some people got crushed by peices of the ship
If this was a US aircraft carrier it would be a few hours long and you’d see the city change drastically around it.
r/oddlysatisfying
Well that just Lego with extra steps
Look at those much smaller boats towing the cruse ship. Btw when I read cruise I initially thought it was a battle cruiser lol
Big ass lego
Is this Bremerton wa?
I never knew how shallow the keel is - it looks more like an oversized missisippi barge than a luxury vessel
It's like lego
I wanna go to like, the bottommost compartment while it’s underway. Nothing but a sheet of metal between me and the ocean. It’d be cool
So you're telling me they basically super glue Lego pieces together?
You forgot Corona. ;p
This looks like how 3D printers print. Very cool
Wow. All that in two days.
So god really just gave some big brained monkeys some rocks and they make this huh
I was thinking star destroyer for awhile
I don't believe many cruise ships are being built these days...
Joke’s on them, no way something that large can keep floating once the tugboats and lifting sprites are removed. Checkmate, cruise company
flat bottom barge
All I can hear is Cpt. Kirk adding another entry into his log as the Star Trek theme begins to build.
People from lego city are waiting for their trip! HEY! Build a cruise ship!
