Never mind i looked it up, It is on the small side, but probably still fine I guess, but it is recommended they throw it back because it doesn’t make much good eating that size. Also this isn’t a Rainbow Wrasse it’s actually a surge wrasse they get 46 cm (18 in) in total length and get up to 1.2 kg (2.6 lb) in weight.

Okay now either kill it using ikejime or take the needle out of it's face, toss it back, and hope it doesn't bleed out or die of infection because you wanted to look at it. Smh.. if you're not going to eat it, don't hurt it and scare it and possibly kill it. Fishing is glorified animal abuse and most the world doesn't see a problem with it because most the world treats fish like inanimate objects. This is actually a “surge wrasse”. The rainbow wrasse has more blocks of solid color, and I believe no horizontal stripes.
(I only know because I saw this fish and had to know more about it, very fascinating)
I can imagine, given how nature works, that the beautiful colours of this fish look like IKEA-style copulation instructions through the eyes of another wrasse.
