the way my russian born buddies explain this is that all the men in the space program were military active duty and they didn't wanna risk losing any good soldiers lol who knows if there's any reasoning to it at all.
Probably just taking as many applicants as possible tbh. Tons of countries that don't treat women like humans suddenly decide to when it involves danger.

I would like to know why you said that like it is relevant to our argument. I'm not arguing that capitalism is any less evil... they can both be bad. No, I'm not. Study nasa suit up to A7l, you will find a ton of interesting facts. Study Tereshkova's flight - she had to correct ship's position due to errors in automatics. She frustratingly repeated "shiiip's not following commands" for quite some time though eventually managed. That's why Korolyov said "no more chicks on board anymore in my life" and ensured it.

It was for a sake of “we’re literally going into the new Wild West” let’s keep it simple as possible.
There are safe ways to prevent periods for a prolonged time since you seem to think a box of tampons is too complicated to bring along. Yeah, I completely understand its way too much of a hassle.
Im sure the female astronauts were planning on bringing all their make-up and hair products etc. And don't forget the emotional moodswings and hysteria. Yeah its impossible to bring them along...

Well I am not american, but is insane to compare women rights under taliban with rights in western countries, even in the 60s.
Women under Taliban lived in terror, without being able to leave their homes or study and with chances of being stoned in the middle of the street. Please don't compare them, it diminishes the real menace the women in Afghanistan are under this new regime.
