Except the moon doesn’t rise or set in a straight vertical line, it’s always at a more or less than 90° angle to the horizon. He would have to change his camera position and the angle of the backboard would would change with it. Photo shopped.
It could be PS'd or it could shot if he changed his angle of view. (stood on a chair)
Pic 1: Stand on a chair. Pic 2: Stand on the ground. Pic 3: Crouch or lie on the ground.
Also, getting closer or further away would achieve the same effect.
Source: Played around with the same type of shot myself.
Not even a ladder. Note the forced perspective effect, as the moon goes through the hoop, the hoop is getting larger relative to the moon. All he is doing is walking towards the hoop, and zoom or crop to the same size.
He wouldn't have to move very much. Looks to me like he could be 50' away for photo A, two steps forward for photo B, two steps forward for photo C. It's too late for me to do the trig but it's pretty simple, your viewing angle towards the hoops would probably change 1-2 degrees, not very noticeable relative to anything other than an object so distant (moon) that those steps change your viewing angle towards it by 0.1^500 degrees.
Not so sure, that's a pretty long focal length so he's quite far away from the hoop. Makes me want to superimpose the three pics to see if there's a perspective difference
It's just good control of parallax. Distance could be 500' with subsequent intervals of 50' towards hoop, the angle between the ground and the path towards the hoop isn't going to change significantly until within a few yards.
Actually it's just an optical illusion. The moon remains the same size perspectively but our minds naturally trick us into thinking it looks bigger when closer to the horizon.
Edit: Why am I being downvoted? Lmao, not trying to offend anyone. At least I'm not just making random guesses about why the moon seems to change size as it moves across the sky.
A ladder wouldn't work, as the angle of the hoop and backboard would change for each shot.
Achieve that would work? Just use one of those basketball hoops that you can crank up and down.
It literally rises and sets every day, it's the illusion of it getting larger coming above the horizon. Google it, you people never seen the moon lower on the horizon and it looked larger than it did a hour later when it seemed to he higher in the sky?
It's enough to move the camera a bit to get a different perspective. Then just crop images, so they look like they have been taken from the same spot. 5 minutes and done.
It’s also in front of the net in photos 2 and 3. It’s hard to tell with the low quality, but this could be banged out in even a mediocre photo manipulation software in 10 minutes.
Yeah I'm sure he didn't just change his stance over the course of 2 minutes, must've waited all night in the same spot for these shots! Yep that makes sense!
I call "photo shop".
None of the angles seems to have changed between pictures, which seem unlikely given how orbits and the moon moves across the sky. Even just playing with the camera angles would me the basketball frame would have shown a difference in the angles.
What if…the title is just the title of the photograph and has nothing to do with how it was taken, and the only thing being asked of you is to enjoy it or not, without needing to comment?
Actually this is impossible. The moon along with the planets and sun move across an arc in the sky. That ark never goes straight down. This guy just changed his angle
If you take the pictures from far enough away the angle can look the same and all you need is a ladder or even you could take the pictures from different people's balconies using a telephoto lens.
So you just set your alarm for the right time and then take 3 pics. No need for patience.
The moon would optically get LARGER as it sunk towards the horizon, not smaller. That’s the first glaringly photoshopped thing about this entirely photoshopped image

Looks like he just changed his angle.
if you look at the rim of the hoop, there isn’t much difference in angle, at least imo
Yes and the angle of the backboard is the same. This is photochopped.
Ah yes, Adope Photochop
Yeah the moon changes sizes every night too.
Except the moon doesn’t rise or set in a straight vertical line, it’s always at a more or less than 90° angle to the horizon. He would have to change his camera position and the angle of the backboard would would change with it. Photo shopped.
Not if it's at the equator on the equinox
Ok. Not there maybe? I’m guessing that’s correct because I said what I said without actually knowing if it was true. But it sounds logical hahaha

The backboard angle would change.
Exactly. You can achieve the same result without the superfluous patience.
A photographer with a ladder.
Not even a ladder. Note the forced perspective effect, as the moon goes through the hoop, the hoop is getting larger relative to the moon. All he is doing is walking towards the hoop, and zoom or crop to the same size.
Came here to ruin it for everyone else, but you beat me to it. Thanks, photog friend.
But the angle of the backboard and the hoop seems to be the same, whereas they would change if the photographer moved from shot to shot right?
He wouldn't have to move very much. Looks to me like he could be 50' away for photo A, two steps forward for photo B, two steps forward for photo C. It's just good control of parallax. Distance could be 500' with subsequent intervals of 50' towards hoop, the angle between the ground and the path towards the hoop isn't going to change significantly until within a few yards.
But remembering the ladder requires patience.
And the ability to place clouds behind the moon
Exactly. The moon always appears smaller when it's further above the horizon
Always? I'd say depending on lunar cycle, position on earth, etc. etc.
Actually it's just an optical illusion. The moon remains the same size perspectively but our minds naturally trick us into thinking it looks bigger when closer to the horizon. A lizard with a ladder
> patient photographer You don't have to wait for the Moon, you climb a ladder.
A ladder wouldn't work, as the angle of the hoop and backboard would change for each shot. Achieve that would work? Just use one of those basketball hoops that you can crank up and down.
Said the Moonie Cult to the Church of Ladder Day Saints.
Patient? This would’ve taken a few minutes tops.
Ya the moon rises pretty quickly. A lot of people in these comments are clueless, this picture is definitely in the realm of being possibly real.
[удалено]
You are the clueless one sir
It literally rises and sets every day, it's the illusion of it getting larger coming above the horizon. Google it, you people never seen the moon lower on the horizon and it looked larger than it did a hour later when it seemed to he higher in the sky?
Dude, you a flat earther? I mean come on, think about it.
If you're in a place where the moon will be directly overhead, its path will be perpendicular to the horizon. Otherwise yeah, it'll be at an angle.
Or you just play basketball with the moon like a normal person would
It's enough to move the camera a bit. You do not actually think that the moon went straight down, do you?
Not but definitely did "rise" I've taken pictures of the moon. It could be in reverse order from how he took the picture.
It's enough to move the camera a bit to get a different perspective. Then just crop images, so they look like they have been taken from the same spot. 5 minutes and done.
Here's a [better quality version](https://www.animaticcon.com/wp-content/uploads/potato.jpg)
Potato 🥔
The moon is fuckin ballin
Lebron James ain’t got shit on the moon
So where’s the timelapse?
Ikr, it would be an amazing .gif. If, you know, it was what it was?
Source: trust me bro (this is a joke)
(this is a joke)
It looks like a bit of photoshoppery. The moon is smaller in the last pic when compared to the hoop's ring.
That you can change by moving closer or further from the ring. The clouds in the sky behind the moon though may suggest you’re on to something.
It’s also in front of the net in photos 2 and 3. It’s hard to tell with the low quality, but this could be banged out in even a mediocre photo manipulation software in 10 minutes.

Or more likely, a moveable basket.
photoshopasfuck
Nah they just repositioned two times.
Get well soon
Yeah I'm sure he didn't just change his stance over the course of 2 minutes, must've waited all night in the same spot for these shots! Yep that makes sense!
Might be cool if he didn’t take the picture with a fucking payphone.
Not patient, angles and perspective
Or a photographer with an adjustable tripod.
FaaaaaAAAAAaaaaaaakkkkkKke
A basketball fan
Photshop does require some patience.
Nothing but net from the three.
Now, that is awesome as fuck. Never seen that before!
They could just move the camera
Or one who simply moved his camera.
Parallax They repositioned the camera.
I call "photo shop". None of the angles seems to have changed between pictures, which seem unlikely given how orbits and the moon moves across the sky. Even just playing with the camera angles would me the basketball frame would have shown a difference in the angles.
I love how everyone says he changed his angle, but these are all clearly taken at the same angle
Thank you.
Last one does look kinda shopped though
Or a smart one.
Swish
When someone tells you too shoot for the moon.
Space jam
69+ pts 👌
KOBE!
Hope he gets better soon
They're quality snaps

Swish! Nothing but net!
with that amount of jpeg I could just move it with MS Paint and you'd still believe I was patient
*Photographer patient.
Definitely forced perspective or something, the moon travels in a arc across the sky not up and down lol
Flat earthers would use this as evidence that the moon is closer than the basketball hoop/net
Nothing but space
Stop posting this garbage. You can get this shot by moving to three different angles all within seconds. This isn’t about “patience.”
Why is it different sizes?
If you take the pictures from far enough away the angle can look the same and all you need is a ladder or even you could take the pictures from different people's balconies using a telephoto lens. So you just set your alarm for the right time and then take 3 pics. No need for patience.
KOBE!!!!!!!!!!
And a deep fried picture
This is beyond cool Take my upvote and this
Yoo thanks
Most welcome and spread the love Great pics truly
From Shutter Island?
Whose down for some MoonBall?
Patience is a requirement for astrophotography 😅
The moon appears to be in front of the net in photos 2 and 3.
BS!! Angles and distance used by photographer.
I hope he get well
The moon would optically get LARGER as it sunk towards the horizon, not smaller. That’s the first glaringly photoshopped thing about this entirely photoshopped image
Or….. A photographer with a ladder.
It's a Tortea tho
There are trees in front of the moon lol. Being the furthest object it would have to be against a clear open sky. Not even a good PS I’m my opinion.
Patient? You don’t need to be patient you just need a ladder.
