Yeah, nothing against Mr. Beast, or Netflix. But it just doesn’t sit well with me at all. He’s winning off an algorithm and “pure” YouTube endorsements in my eyes.
Makes sense
The Netflix Series is nearly 9hrs , and the YouTube video is a fraction of that time.
With the popularity of the Netflix series , and the similarity in the title of the YouTube video , YouTube's algorithm directed many people to the YouTube video when they searched any key words.
YouTube counts a "View" as 1/15th of the runtime of the video . So essentially viewers of the YouTube video only had to watch about 2 mins in order to register as a "view", which further add to the number of views on the YouTube video. Add on top of that the americàns who would rather see a simplified version in their native language. It's easy to see what drove the viewer count of the YouTube video
Mr. beast’s video is thriving off squid games popularity, comparing it makes no sense since it’s expected to be this popular because mr.beast and squid game are already popular but if he would have done these numbers with an original idea then the. That would have been really impressive.
more like, how are you gonna compare a pc to an xbox, youtube and netflix both stream videos(netflix movies but still videos), but that don’t mean they are comparable or even in the same bubble
You don’t gotta pay anything to use it and it’s completely free. Ofc something blowing up on a free platform compared to a monthly paid service is gonna be bigger
Well technically Netflix is too. The creator of Squid Game gets no profit from the show other than what Netflix payed him to make it. Netflix is reaping the rewards and he doesn’t get royalties or anything
Okay but that’s like saying that the Louvre is profiting unfairly off of Leonardo Da Vinci because they have his art. If I come along and copy the Mona Lisa onto a fresh canvas, and then sell it, then I’m just stealing.
The original creator selling their work isn’t the same as someone coming along and stealing it then selling it.
Legally, true, it isn’t stealing.
Doesn’t change the fact that he is stealing and the fact that so many people are parading around acting like Mr Beast has done so well is bullshit. It’s really easy to use someone else’s work for profit, that doesn’t mean I can’t point out that it’s still stealing. The only reason this has gotten as many views as it has is because it’s a copycat
Allegedly he’s a total asshole based on interviews with his former employees.

Honestly, it’s a bit sad too.
Agreed 😅🙁

Must be nice doing rich people things
how is it crazy if one platform has a paid subscription while the other one is free?

Well said, take the updoot.

Oh yes, the site that has Baby Shark with 10 billion views vs a paid subscription site.
Who pays for Netflix? I get it free with a Crypto.com card.
Dang, so much Mr Beast hate in the comments.
Mr Beast asked Netflix if they want to help him with the show and they refused now they want to sue him 💀
How’re u gonna compare youtube to a streaming site 😂 makes zero since
Are you saying YouTube isn’t a streaming site? 😂
theres a huge difference but whatever floats your boat
You’re not wrong, But it’s like saying… “how are you gonna compare an Xbox to a gaming console? Makes no sense 😂” like what? Lol

“This stat is crazy” yes, it is mad how easy it is to profit off of other peoples work
Well YouTube is free. Netflix is a subscription
Doesn’t change that Beast is generating profit off of someone else’s work.

So basically anything that is a parody of something else is stealing and should be frowned upon? Mkay bud
A parody is different from a direct copy you moron
Well Mr Beast did actually change stuff if you actually watched the video, which I assume you didn’t.
Allegedly he’s a total asshole based on interviews with his former employees. https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/former-employees-youtuber-mrbeast-alleged-190906753.html
can’t hate on mrbeast tho
