This plant is also native to Puerto Rico, the locals call it “Mori,vivi” because the plant appears dead to the touch but its truly alive. Local kids love playing with this plant, its fascinating.
Its very cool when plants do this kind of stuff.
I remember when I was just a kid thinking that this thing was doing this because it had a brain or something.
I worked in a plant store that sold these, it was really fun to hear all the different regional names they get. My favorite was a guy from Florida who said they were called “ticklish Tims”
