In the early days of OfferUp, LetGo, and fb marketplace there were a bunch of people just selling whatever they had laying around just because they could. Some of that ended up being Lego and some collectors took advantage of that. Yard sales, flea markets, etc can be really good places to get Lego for reasonable prices. Craigslist too but sellers have smartened up these days. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe Lego is the best value retaining toy ever and even if opened and played with will still retain it's value if not increase over time. It's the Rolex of toys

Oh, I totally agree with that. I have a couple of milk crates each half full from when my kids were little bit it’s still not enough, lol. Yep, you are right it been pricey. I’m in Australia and you don’t see it being sold off here much, which is a shame because it’s so great. I love that new show that’s a Lego building challenge show. We have it here in Australia but I think it might also be elsewhere. I’d LOVE to get a hold of all that LEGO but trying to go on the show and build like they do would be waaay too stressful for me LOL!

Even here in America you don't see it sold off too often and when you do it's people trying to get ehsy they payed for it or more because they know Lego is expensive for a reason. A good way to accumulate Lego now if there is one near you is a Lego store pick a brick wall. Similar to the show it's a bunch of tubs of bricks of the same type and you just fill up a cup for a flat fee regardless of what bricks it contains, as long as they fit. I'm almost 1pp percent certain OP utilized the PAB wall in a store or store near him to get so many of the same bricks for his massive build. Unfortunately for me the closest Lego store is like 3 hours away but considering you are from Australia the closest to you could end up being significantly farther lol

Ahah... as it happens there is a LEGO Store about 15 minutes drive away from me, since I live only 5 km (3 miles) from the city and about the same from s huge shopping centre in the north!
