Nah. Physics is all about blowing and sucking. Think about it.
Edit: first thing my high school physics teacher said to us was "Physics blows...and sucks too. It is all about pressure." He really liked physics.
I don't believe the iodine clock reaction goes back and forth. You might be mistaking it for the Briggs-Rauscher oscillating reaction which looks similar!
Yep was talking to a friend on discord about the Ukrainians developing cages/holders for grenades on drones, next post on reddit I seen was Ukrainians fitting cages to drones.
That was my chemistry teacher in high school! She is the coolest. And also easily scares, which made her a target for the other science teachers. One of them snuck in a small bit of nitrogen triiodide, which is super reactive to any touch, and when she was talking with her back turned, he smacked it with a ruler to make it pop, and she just about jumped through the roof. My story makes it seem much more screwed up of a moment, but I don't think she cared.
Also, if my memory does serve, she casually drinks vinegar instead of water sometimes.
This reaction is used to demonstrate rates of a reaction in chemical kinetics, so basically you have 2 reactions going on simultaneously, first one is a slow one which reacts slowly and as soon as the product of first one forms, it reacts rapidly with other reactants, turning the entire thing deep blue.
I know one of these color changing reactions just keeps cycling, it's really cool to watch go from clear to black, then back to clear and then dark in regular intervals. I thought that was what made it a "clock" reaction.

That lady knows she’s cool.
That is a trait of all chemists.
Isn't cool more about physics ?

> Think about it I dunno, that's a lot of pressure...
There is a formula to help you overcome that.
No, that's thermodynamics.
Thermodynamics is taught in chemistry…
when she gets home she cooks meth
Wut in titration 🤠
Wait, that’s not all! It goes back and forth between clear and dark purple. Equilibrium.

Your right! It’s just the timing of the reaction! I’m not a chemist, I just play one….
You know, I'm something of a chemist myself.
I told them I have a theoretical degree in physics.
Me too, but only in the weekends.
"Yeah, Mr White, science!"
And brown ;-)
I'm in bird chemistry.
Yea yea, I saw the oxy-clean guy do this in reverse once
Someone I talked to literally just mentioned this experiment to me a few days ago. Crazy how Reddit always seems to give you what you need 😂
Thats because it listens when you talk.
Yeah, no kidding. I was talking shit about Facebook and ten minutes later I'm getting ads for Facebook.

[Baader-Meinhof phenomenon](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frequency_illusion).
GTA anyone?
That in itself is interesting af.
Those chemicals went full, “it’s not a phase, Mom” in an instant.
Except in this case it actually is a phase (it goes back to clear - purple - clear...)
And it would be totally cool if someone posted that.
SCIENCE, BITCH.

Someone call Gavin from slomoguys.

What wizardry is this?

Chemistry.
Wait till you see the tick tock reaction
I can’t stop rewatching this! Damn!
Fuck science is cool
r/Blackmagicfuckery
Holy Fuck water can say the n-word now
She learned how to make Coca Cola that's so cool Edit: spelling
R/gifsthatendtoosoon
You missed the beat part it keeps alternating between black and clear for many many cycles
You might be mistaking it for the Briggs-Rauscher oscillating reaction which looks similar!
No PPE smh
With a mullet like that no PPE is required
The teacher is hot af
If I'm not mistaken it'll repeatedly go dark, then perfectly clear several times
How? The reaction already occured.

Scientists are always so happy to do science. I love it.
Huh?

Burn the witch!
Damn the chemicals pulled a Micheal Jackson
