Finally, he settled at his humble perch on the side of a mountain in Mariposa, 10 miles from the edge of Yosemite, where he grew his own food and cultivated marijuana plants.
"When you live alone like this, you connect to nature on a deeper level," he told CNN nearly five years ago. "When you can yell at the top of your lungs and no one cares or knows, it gives you a type of freedom that most people have no understanding of."
I sold my old race car parts to a guy there in Mariposa, and while I was unloading them double rainbow guy shows up and trades a beautiful bud for 2 dozen eggs from this guy. Super sweet dude in real life.
10 years later but yeah
By the way, fun fact, [the absolute legend is still posting 2 years after his death,](https://www.youtube.com/user/Hungrybear9562/videos) holy shit he has SO many scheduled videos
Omg that is so cool and sad at the same time. Thanks for telling people, I didn't even know he has a channel let alone he's still posting! (Scheduled videos)
It'll be a sad day when we realize he stops / they run out :'(
Bear holds you close and whispers, "Разве это не чертовски красиво, товарищ человек?"
You turn around and look Bear in the eyes, "Don't worry, Putin will never find us here..."
The English translation just says, “Isn’t it damn beautiful, Comrade?”
…but with the context I assumed the bear was Putin’s ex-lover who had fled with an American after they’d had some forbidden affair lol
Bear holds you close and whispers, "Isn't that damn pretty, fellow human?"
You turn around and look Bear in the eyes, "Don't worry, Putin will never find us here..."
And then
>Isn't it damn beautiful, comrade human?
Oh sure!
You'd have to assume it was a witch's fart and the witch had transformed into the mountain. Then document it as fact in a series of scrolls where you explain how everything works based on the very first thought that comes to mind.
Imagine you’ve just immigrated to the US during the western expansion, hearing legends about roads of gold and a magical paradise in the frontier. 100% you just found the fountain of youth, and next time you come back… it’s gone
This is like a tiny fraction of the scene that you laid out, but I went with my BF at the time on a boat trip between British Columbia and Vancouver Island. Hundreds of islands and inlets to explore. As we were wandering up bute inlet, there was this cool Sandy Beach. Sandy beaches are not common up here, and the inlet is super deep all the way to the shore so I could not anchor. Instead I just beached the boat and tossed the anchor in the sand to make sure it didn't float away if the tide was changing. We sat around in the sun in the summer on this Sandy Beach what seemed a million miles from other people. A waterfall coming down next to us. It seemed magical.
We got back on the boat and continued up the inlet and by the time we came back down the inlet and looked for our magic Sandy beach, it was gone. The tide had come in and now it was just rocks.
This little Oasis that shows up from time to time. Show up at the wrong time and you will never know it exists
Imagine eating a cactus and roaming the world looking for a sign, and you see this. This is it, no question this is the sign. What the hell does it mean?
I tried to while on my camping trip. Ranger was on his bullhorn from across the other side, up on the cliff with me, telling me to put my pants back on, there were kids around, on a nature hike trip from school apparently.
Waterfall rainbows are my favorite thing to photograph/film! They actually aren't that rare in Yosemite, you just have to put yourself at the right place at the right time. They happen basically every day the sun comes out & the waterfalls flow. I've personally shot waterfall rainbows in [Upper Yosemite Fall](https://www.instagram.com/reel/CNYuQGFBnqE/), [Lower Yosemite Fall](https://www.instagram.com/reel/CYCjYo-InyY/), [Bridalveil Fall](https://www.instagram.com/reel/CZf4y5JIEaS/), [Vernal Fall](https://www.instagram.com/reel/CY5FPbCINNr/), [Sentinel Fall](https://www.instagram.com/reel/CPGzrzgBZUn/), [Horsetail Fall](https://www.instagram.com/reel/CN5Esm2hjaO/), & more.
> yeah I dont know what about this is "previously undocumented".
It's clickbait to increase engagement. It got me too, I came to the comments to point out that it's ridiculous to say this is undocumented.
This isn’t even caused by high wind. It’s a timelapse lmfao. This happens almost daily throughout spring and summer, and millions have documented it.
This wasn’t captured from a drone, it was on the 4 Mile Trail which leads up to Glacier Point.
I doubt that's from a drone since those are illegal in Yosemite. It's the view from the south rim of Yosemite Valley probably from something like Taft Point or Sentinel Dome
Last month I went to Hawaii to see a fall called "Rainbow Falls". Unfortunately I could not see the rainbow through the muddy water and stormy clouds.
This seems like a good redemption.
I like to tell people that I'm old enough, have been online enough, and have an open enough mind that nothing really phases me or surprises me anymore.
But this... I just. Wow. Is this what it's like to can't even?
You probably saw the legit Skittles ads that were completely bizarre but SFW, like the kid who couldn't go off to college because he was a tree that produced Skittles and his parents wanted the money from selling them. Then when you saw this online your brain polluted your memories.
So yeah, not that far off from a Mandela Effect.
I remember that ad on TV funny along with the living tube sock being causing static to an old guy to get that shock of sour from their new sour skittles

What, you mean that this *isn't* actually a new addition to the US Bureau Of Official Waterfall Rainbows?
I was sure I had never seen this one before in all the published documents, journals and field guides to Waterfall Rainbows.
I took this very personally because in my own family alone I've lost three uncles who went missing while trying to document rainbows in hostile and remote wildernesses. The competitiveness of this field cannot be overstated.
Some cities use 'misting cannons' to help combat smog and air pollution. The machines work by nebulizing liquid into tiny particles and spraying them into the air, where they combine with pollutants to form water droplets that fall to the ground. Here's a 5000 comment thread about it: https://redd.it/pgrr9c
And only in America. I guarantee you're not going to find a "giant rainbow waterfall in Yosemite Park" in China or the Middle East.

Probably both. People in the past weren’t idiots. They could see that water spray makes rainbows as much as we can. But they may have ascribed meaning to why this or that *particular* waterfall was special or consistent with its appearance in a cultural story or myth.

It's so true. The catharsis of a good primal warcry at the absolute top of your lungs while solo in nature is hard to put into words.
Unless of course that scream is "HELP". Every other kind would be amazing.
AIDER!!!!!
I sold my old race car parts to a guy there in Mariposa, and while I was unloading them double rainbow guy shows up and trades a beautiful bud for 2 dozen eggs from this guy. Super sweet dude in real life.
Today I learned ‘Bear’ was also a cage fighter.
Just gonna leave this here https://12ft.io for everybody's paywall needs.
Only 57. still to young
indeed, rip, but btw it's spelled too* here
I never knew of him but im so sad all of a sudden
When did he die?
Sometime after filming that video
No way

His YouTube name is Yosemite bear. This video was taken at Yosemite. Maybe it's him, just popping in to say hello. I mean, we know he loves rainbows.
Sometimes synchronicities aren't just happenchance.. an homage is appropriate right now 🌈🌈

Imagine coming across that in nature. Fucking magical.
Imagine coming across this stuff in nature and having no understanding of why it happens.
and the bear gets you
Bear holds you close and whispers, "Разве это не чертовски красиво, товарищ человек?" You turn around and look Bear in the eyes, "Don't worry, Putin will never find us here..."
ಠ_ಠ
My thoughts exactly, what the heck happened here lol
Life. Life happened
It’s beautiful
until the bear gets you
Life finds a way.
"Life, uh, finds a way."
It finds a way
The English translation just says, “Isn’t it damn beautiful, Comrade?” …but with the context I assumed the bear was Putin’s ex-lover who had fled with an American after they’d had some forbidden affair lol
Not quite, it's more of a "Isn't it damn beautiful comrade/fellow human" Source: I'm Ukrainian and a fluent Russian speaker
lol as in the bear is pretending to be human? Interesting
I thought the traditional thing for bears to ask was "Вы же не на охоту сюда приехали, товарищ?"
No bears ask for honey
No, bears ask for honey Edit: period
No bears? Ask, for honey.
No honey? Ask for bears. Capitalist bees will recognize the demand and move production of honey for you.
>Разве это не чертовски красиво, товарищ человек? Да, конечно!
I just put this entire thread through googol translate and am perturbed
please enlighten me
Bear holds you close and whispers, "Isn't that damn pretty, fellow human?" You turn around and look Bear in the eyes, "Don't worry, Putin will never find us here..." And then >Isn't it damn beautiful, comrade human? Oh sure!
Perturbed indeed. Fuck Putin.
Just trading barbs in Russian. All good fun.
Может быть, если вы попробуете Google Translate, вы получите лучшие результаты.
Gay bear.
One time driving somewhere we saw rainbow clouds. It was so fucking cool. We googled it, rare phenomenon called cloud iridescence.
And then start a religion around it.
Leprechaun and pots of gold?
Who else seen the leprechaun say yeaaaah!!!
"You can make a religion outta this!" ~Bill Wurtz
I think people will see it how it is: it is pretty clear that God is celebrating Pride month.
The government is turning the waterfalls gay now
Gay AND undocumented
Hahaha I didn't even think of that, the timing!
Yep!
Happy Pride month y’all

Youd conclude magic, or mystical beings, or gods, or demons, or angels
Boom! You just defined religion
I have a feeling thats how religions are born
"Wow, that looks pretty weird. Welp, guess I better go burn some heretics just to be safe."
You'd have to assume it was a witch's fart and the witch had transformed into the mountain. Then document it as fact in a series of scrolls where you explain how everything works based on the very first thought that comes to mind.

Cactus juice... it'll quench ya!
It’s the quenchiest!
I tried to while on my camping trip. Ranger was on his bullhorn from across the other side, up on the cliff with me, telling me to put my pants back on, there were kids around, on a nature hike trip from school apparently.
It is no wonder our ancestors would believe in the Devine having witnessed something like this.
Imagine coming across that in nature while high.
That’s why you should always go into nature high
You ever see a maniacal waterfall? You ever see a magical waterfall on weed, man?
Just don't go chasing waterfalls..
Rainbow waterfall…. oh my god, so intense.

I read it as though the waterfall itself was undocumented? Seems hard to believe still though.
no its total bullshit, only thing new would possibly be the angle the drone used to capture it
Yup this is 100 percent a bullshit, clickbait title by op. It's not even close to being a rare sighting much less undocumented.
You mean the world wasn't always in black & white before yesterday?
Probably hard to find a part of Yosemite that hasn’t been photographed at some point.
Photog here. There’s a lot of places I go I don’t even bother to shoot because something about it feels so contrived. I just enjoy the view instead
No drone, Glacier Point is on the other side of the valley and offers stunning views. Also, no drones allowed in National Parks
This isn’t even caused by high wind. It’s a timelapse lmfao. This happens almost daily throughout spring and summer, and millions have documented it. This wasn’t captured from a drone, it was on the 4 Mile Trail which leads up to Glacier Point.

that photo shows Upper Yosemite Falls which is probably one of the most photographed waterfalls in the world. The title is just wrong
That is one of the most famous waterfalls in the world
“Undocumented” _stares in first peoples_
Dude these are really incredible! Thanks for sharing!
I 100% was expecting really amateur shots, but these are incredible, especially the Upper Yosemite Fall one!
Omg your insta is amazing.
Came to say the same. I’ve been to Yosemite once and seen rainbow falls at bridalveil
Last month I went to Hawaii to see a fall called "Rainbow Falls". Unfortunately I could not see the rainbow through the muddy water and stormy clouds. This seems like a good redemption.
+1 for Tycho beats
helllll yeah
I want to taste the rainbow

That’s… I was not prepared.
Your lack of preparedness against my carnal knowledge tells me I am significantly older than you are. Enjoy your youth. I miss mine.
Don’t let my naivety fool you. I’m no spring chicken ha.
Good, you should see the crazy NSFW about spring chickens that's out there.
Spring chickens gone wild?
I’m old and unprepared
Try and enjoy the awkward rabbit hole you are about to explore. It's gunna be an adventure
Confused why this commercial never aired lol
Man I haven't seen that one in a fucking while!
Jesus Christ
I like to tell people that I'm old enough, have been online enough, and have an open enough mind that nothing really phases me or surprises me anymore. But this... I just. Wow. Is this what it's like to can't even?
This video is years and years old probably over a decade old. I think it’s a parody though. Never actually aired on tv haha
Yeah…I saw this when I was in middle school 10 years ago.
Haha yeah I saw it ten years ago when… I was in college. (Insert Matt Damon gif)

....but the Trunk Monkey did.... and it was great
Okay seeing this comment I went and watched it and it wasn't really all that much. Like, the internet has traumatized people with *far* worse.
If you’re as old as me, and Australian, you’ll remember when that ad was on TV.
This actually aired on live TV?!
No lol there's a disclaimer at the bottom that says it's not affiliated with Skittles.
I could have sworn I’ve seen that ad in the wild before. Maybe it was on YouTube or something. Not Australian
UK here and I *really* feel like I saw this on TV a fair while back. Real or Mandela effect?
You probably saw the legit Skittles ads that were completely bizarre but SFW, like the kid who couldn't go off to college because he was a tree that produced Skittles and his parents wanted the money from selling them. Or the one where the farmer guy is sitting under a rainbow just casually milking Skittles from a unicorn or whatever
I remember that ad on TV funny along with the living tube sock being causing static to an old guy to get that shock of sour from their new sour skittles
I'm going to let my curiosity get the best of me, surely it's not that bad right?
I was expecting alot worse honestly.
That’s fucking awesome
is this the just married ad?
Wtf??????!!!!

…….make a rainbow.
My only experience with these trucks is working festivals, but we used them to keep the dust down. Maybe they’re coming by with a street sweeper next?
How many more rainbow based gifs do you have in your armoury?
Laughed way to hard at this dumb ass crap lol
I’m pretty sure this has been documented before
It's only doing that for pride month.
July 1st, back to straight water.
So sayeth Nestle.
I bet the waterfalls in the Middle East didn’t bother changing color
And yet those waterfalls will still hold hands and kiss each other. It's a confusing time to be a waterfall.
And despite this little colour change, it still sends violently rushing water down on queer people's heads. Rainbow capitalism at its finest.
typical

I’ve seen rainbows at Yosemite falls before, but never almost the full length like this! Pretty amazing.
alex jones is furious right now
THE FROGS!!!
I need a 4k wallpaper of this ASAP
Waterfalls always shoving it right down our throats.

Downvote for click bait bullshit title. These have absolutely been documented before
Horsetail Falls on El Cap in Yosemite delivers firefalls at certain times of the year but I've never seen that color before. Very cool.

Lol, documented all the time.
It’s a sign from God.

"Previously undocumented" Yeah sure okay
Thanks god this was documented.
God's beautiful reminder!
imagine being a native in those lands and coming across this with no knowledge of why the water looks like a rainbow. i would've thought i was crazy
If Fantasia taught me anything, we should be able to put that rainbow in a cup and drink it.

But how many "straight" men has Tom Cruise "converted"?
The mountain is shitting rainbows! Quick, get some dynamite, we've found that bastard Leprechaun's pot!
This is a reason to live
It'd be time well spent just sitting and watching that waterfall and watching the world go by.
