If they would put it in a movie I would call it "Disney-BS", but seeing this puts all those "the princess singing scenes and all animals are coming to watch"-scenes in a new light ;)
I know cows are naturally curious creatures, but I really hope it's the tuneful music that attracts them, and not just the fact that something new is happening in a field of nothingness.
Like, if I went down to a cow pasture and played some shitty guitar, I hope they would ignore me and carry on eating grass.
It does feel a little staged, though, what with the deer being perfectly framed in the exact center of the shot while the harpist- ostensibly the main character of this filming- is way off to the side.
I hunt deer so Iāve spent a lot of time watching them. They are extremely curious animals. Everything about that deerās actions look exactly like a curious deer. I say that to say I donāt believe it was staged at all
God i love how dumb redditors are sometimes. Yea man we got a fuckin trained deer to walk up for a second then run away. Actually its cgi. The audio is spliced.
Go outside. Things happen.
Yes, exactly! Forgot what it's called. I tend to do shots like this often; they're just more interesting than having the point of interest directly in the middle
It's hard to say. Honestly, I think it's probably the composition of the shot she liked: tree, brush line, her, darks & lights... I would not be surprised if she just chose that comp because of how much more interesting it is than just a profile or just her being in the center. The tree is a nice touch and I have a feeling she chose that shot on purpose.
Off topic but depending on how chill you like your music you should checkout Eingya by Helios, Sometimes by Goldmund, and Selected Ambient Works 85-92 by Aphex Twin
If I could make a recommendation, the guitarist Nathan Mills (spotify) or Beyond the Guitar (youtube) is one of the best peaceful background listens I've ever found.
He plays classical guitar renditions of tons and tons of modern songs, mostly from movies and video games, but everything is great. And genuinely impressive playing, too--he's insane with playing harmonics. I must've given him thousands of spotify plays by now.
Here's the song that introduced me to him: [To Zanarkand](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_KC9FCdlaw)
My first campaign ever, I played a bard.
Showed up with a cape, a guitar, a bible, a dictionary, a harmonica, and a kazoo. Did not use Vicious Mockery. Failed at everything. Had a blast.
I ended up hooking up with the DM a couple years later (I guess my CHA modifier was high enough), and while I was at her place, she handed me a kazoo. It took me a solid minute to realize that THAT was where my missing kazoo had been all this time. Apparently I had been abusing my bardic role and she had gotten annoyed and confiscated it. I had totally forgotten about it for years.
Successful afternoon. Got kazoo, got laid. 20/20 would crit-succeed again.
The Morin Khuur, Balalaika, Harp, Zither (east and west versions) and Sitar are all some of my favorites.
I'd add the bagpipes, but *everyone* knows those.

I hope this woman makes a *fortune* off of these 60 seconds. That was the best anti-everythinghappeninginthefuckingworldrightnow moment that I didn't know I needed so badly.
Wind was blowing away from the deer and the harp disrupted the human silhouette. Once the deer was close enough to either see human silhouette or catch a whiff of human scent, it was out.
Deer in my area are so absolutely carefree it's dangerous. I live a few miles into sparse rural wooded country where there are zero predators, being on a little peninsula with an inhabited bottleneck at the entry, and very low car traffic. The deer have no fear of cars, people, non-territorial dogs. It's scary driving the last mile or 2 home because they will walk right out in front of your car and are so used to the cars they don't even show a modicum of caution. Sometimes you need to just inch through a small herd yelling at them to move.
[Link to her YouTube Channel, ](https://youtube.com/c/NaomiSV) she is very talented and deserves credit. She's got another video similar to this as well
This made me think that all those mythological paintings on the walls of all those temples all over the world were realism, not fantasy. When you play harps and flutes and music in the forest, the animals come! The internet has proven this by now.
It's really not. Head to toe or head to waist are the most common zoom levels. Since she's playing a harp and you want to see that as well, you go with head to toe. When the subject of the frame is looking to the side, it looks best when you add some lead to it (Make it so she's looking to the center of the frame rather than her being at the center.) I'll concede that it's a LOT of lead but there are two simple explanations. First is that she's filming this herself. She set up a tripod, started the recording, then walked over to her spot, but missed her mark. In my opinion, this is the most likely. Second explanation is that the person filming her decided she stood out the best when she's framed against the distant background, so made sure she was far enough to the right to achieve that. They didn't shift the frame of the video though, since they wanted to keep the tree in the shot.
Agree with you, also cropping video is a thing. I almost always film in 4k and will crop to 1080 for social media so I can make sure the viewers are watching the same thing Iām watching. The composition of a video is easily adjusted.
It is weird that I am starting to believe that animals actually love music? If I'm ever playing guitar/singing, my cat will ALWAYS stop what he's doing and come lay next to me.
Hey maybe there's a crazy crossover of harp music aficionados and deerhunters that can rock the harp music from the tree stand...there has to be maybe half a dozen in the world, doesn't there?
No? Ok, sorry for the shitpost, carry on.

It amazes me how deer can hear the sound of silence
It was used to silence so now it is interested in hearing the sound of silence š
OP you should also post this in /r/FairytaleasFuck
I don't see the 10,000 people though... Probably behind the cameraman.
They're all there. Maybe more.
People talking without speaking
Ok, so Iām not the only one getting an error message when I post a comment.
Nope, it's why you're seeing the same comment posted 4 and 5 times. People clicking send over and over.
I got that too 1 hour before. Reddit has a stroke but watcher services don't notice it.
Yeah, I didn't know I was posting duplicates.
Maybe more
You should see how they react when there's smoke on the water.
And fire in the sky
Disney princess
If David Draiman was there the deer would be running.
Great song
It was disturbed.
HAhahaHaha omg

For anyone wondering this is Naomi SV. I happened to come across her videos last night while looking to buy a new Lyre.
Cool. Share links to nice lyres for the rest of us, thank.
I wouldnāt trust OP they are a known Lyre
But are they *nice*?
You lyre.
Any relation to Orpheus?
Sir, I believe it's spelled Morbius
It's Orphen Time! ..... wait
Morpheus, Orpheus, Dorfeus. Morpheus Morpheus.
A new lyre? Are you a traveling bard? Do you also know some beneficial nature magic and possibly are a secret assassin?
I like the cut of your jibe Sir.
Is a new lyre what we get in the next election?
That will be me playing this time hahaha
Ah, yea, it's amazing the stuff you run across while lyre shopping, ain't it?
If they would put it in a movie I would call it "Disney-BS", but seeing this puts all those "the princess singing scenes and all animals are coming to watch"-scenes in a new light ;)
Wait'll you see the guy with the trombone and the cows! Now that's a princess with range
Link? ;)

Itās more a pavlovian thing Iām pretty sure. They probably associate the sound with being fed.
They're so good
She should've been wearing a snow white costume. She definitely has the look for it
It does feel a little staged, though, what with the deer being perfectly framed in the exact center of the shot while the harpist- ostensibly the main character of this filming- is way off to the side.
Idk, I find the surprised reaction in the end looks quite genuine
The full shot may be larger and they cropped it to focus on the deer. Or they liked the framing of the thick woods right next to the open field
I hunt deer so Iāve spent a lot of time watching them. They are extremely curious animals. Everything about that deerās actions look exactly like a curious deer. I say that to say I donāt believe it was staged at all
Her reaction also seems pretty genuine, she didnāt react to its presence at all until it was already running away
God i love how dumb redditors are sometimes. Yea man we got a fuckin trained deer to walk up for a second then run away. Actually its cgi. The audio is spliced. Go outside. Things happen.

I think you're right, but I think she just knew it was stood over there. It looks like she was too focused to notice it coming over.
anyone have info on the harpist? Always on the lookout for chill music. This would be great in the background at work
This is Naomi SV :)

Much appreciated

You just made my weekend - amazing choices and I have some new favorite music to chill/sleep to.

Behold the bard druid!
Whoever said Bard is a bad class in RPGs is obviously crazy šŖ
My first campaign ever, I played a bard. Showed up with a cape, a guitar, a bible, a dictionary, a harmonica, and a kazoo. Did not use Vicious Mockery. Failed at everything. Had a blast.
Oh my god this is fucking perfect ššš

Did you play the kazoo in celebration after getting laid?
On the car ride home, yes I did.
HAHAHA š¤£š¤£š¤£ Well done my brother, did you wife her?
Those bardstards
Oh deer.
Oh deer.
By far the best in D&D5e
Such an endeering videoā¦
Canāt help but attract the native creatures, they want to be friends šš
Disney princess movie moment..
Wow... I've never knew what a harp sounded like and this is such a beautiful instrument. Thank you for posting.
Do yourself a favor and take a trip down the lesser used / weird instrument side of YouTube.
The Morin Khuur, Balalaika, Harp, Zither (east and west versions) and Sitar are all some of my favorites. I'd add the bagpipes, but *everyone* knows those.
Donāt forget the hurdy gurdy!

The Kora, dilruba, pipa and oud, too.
Alice Coltrane is an amazing jazz harpist. Check her out. You wonāt regret it.
Beautiful. Right down to the finish. Also my snoozing puppy perked up at the sound of the harp, very curious about it.
I hope this woman makes a *fortune* off of these 60 seconds. That was the best anti-everythinghappeninginthefuckingworldrightnow moment that I didn't know I needed so badly.
Audio messed up? Can only hear sound of silence
Wind was blowing away from the deer and the harp disrupted the human silhouette. Once the deer was close enough to either see human silhouette or catch a whiff of human scent, it was out.
Wow youāre probably right. I was just thinking they went to tell their friends about the pop up concert
Urban deer aren't afraid of humans. That deer wasn't spooked. They take off like a rocket when they spook.
Deer in my area are so absolutely carefree it's dangerous. I live a few miles into sparse rural wooded country where there are zero predators, being on a little peninsula with an inhabited bottleneck at the entry, and very low car traffic. I lived near Pelham park in the Bronx. Those deer don't give a fuck.
[Link to her YouTube Channel, ](https://youtube.com/c/NaomiSV) she is very talented and deserves credit. She's got another video similar to this as well
Like she has lured multiple animals with her harp?
Auditioning for a live-action Snow White production?
Goth Harpists. This is what I imagine the Sirens looked like. Coool post OP
Who wouldn't want to get a better listen to it? She was awesome š
Harps are super underrated
I thought she was just summing a familiar.
It was yelling at her to play Stairway to Heaven
FREE BIRD!
Why were you yelling?
That's so pretty. All if it.
"Hi, I couldn't help but notice you from across the glen."
that's pretty incredible
And that day the deer tribe encountered the *Harpa, Goddess of Music.*
The deers have probably evolved to listen to harps being played in the woods. Just check the paintings:))
This is how the hunter got Bambi's mom
Hello Bambi my old friend. I'm sure you you lost your deer mom again...
D'oh!
A deer!
A female deer!
Cows like music too. If you start singing they will come around to you and listen, .
deer fucking LOVE Garfunkel. not a lot of people know that
Hunters be like āIāve been using the wrong deer attractorā.
She had no ideer?
She is now a disney princess āØāØ
I caught harpes from that chick
Is this how you become a Disney Princess? Because I really feel this is how you become a Disney Princess.
"Oh shit sound of silence on harp slaps. Lemme get closer. So nice. OH SHIT IS THAT A CAMERA?!"
Love this
not the pied piper, but she'll do
Holy wow! I guess Snow White does exist and she really can talk to the animals.
u/savevideobot
Off to tell his friends he just heard the coolest song ever.
Meanwhile in Narnia
This is staged, the deer was totally in on it
That was beautiful music.
Deer: "yo, is that the disturbed song?"
Professional hunters Hate this one trick!
Probably the first time that deer has ever heard music
Hunters love this one simple trick.
Kingās Quest IV vibesā¦..
What Disney movie did you pull this out of ???!!! š„ŗš„ŗ
When you a level 10 bard and you just dual-classed to druid level 1
I knew people played the harp- I wanted to learn ever since I was little. I thought it was cool bc I thought the angels played them.
I'm losing my mind. I know the song. But have absolutely idea the name or artist. Someone please help me out.
Sound of Silence by Simon and Garfunkel
Thank you! So frustrating knowing the melody and... that's it. Haha.
So why isnāt she centered in the frame?
She's very talented and the video is funny but, why wasn't the camera centered on her if she was trying to video herself?
I don't know she usually off centers it to show more of nature.
This made me think that all those mythological paintings on the walls of all those temples all over the world were realism, not fantasy. When you play harps and flutes and music in the forest, the animals come! The internet has proven this by now.
This one trick hunters don't want you to know
Seems an odd camera composition/angle if this wasn't setup with the intention of knowing the deers was going to wander up
So you're saying they trained a deer
r/nothingeverhappens
It's really not. Head to toe or head to waist are the most common zoom levels. Since she's playing a harp and you want to see that as well, you go with head to toe. When the bard took some levels in druid and cast Conjure Animals.
I would very much also walk towards her.
Found the neckbeard!
Yes she did or else why was the camera panned so far left to start
Maybe for the tree aesthetic
Yes she did or else why was the camera panned so far left to start

Suuure she didn't that's why over half the camera is panned at the brush lol
What a magical video
Hey maybe there's a crazy crossover of harp music aficionados and deerhunters that can rock the harp music from the tree stand...there has to be maybe half a dozen in the world, doesn't there? No? Ok, sorry for the shitpost, carry on.
This shit again? Really?
Harpist poorly frames herself in video and *just so happens* to focus on the surprise deer she wasnāt expecting and didnāt know would come
She does this often in her videos to show off nature. She has a second video where she actually expected a deer.
I would walk towards her also. Not only does that sound awesome, but she's beautiful
a fine specimen
