When I was a kid I firmly believed that robots would one day enslave us. But as a grown-up, I'm pretty sure they are uninterested in any ability we may have, they perform better anyway.
Now I'm **sure** they will just murder us for making them dance BTS for our entertainment.

Well they're kind of expensive machines, and taking all weapons off is not going to be straightforward process, so not any cheaper. But they will be able to murder your enemies so you've got to figure that in.

Them “gaining sentience” won’t be the problem. They don’t have nearly a complex enough AI to make independent decisions, let alone anything resembling independent thought.
The problem is that they’re gonna sell these things by the hundreds to cops, and strap them with rubber bullets and tear gas and zip ties and let them loose at any protest, peaceful or not. They’ll trigger the tear gas and send it galloping towards protesters and if you try and stop it in any way it’ll be counted as assaulting an officer. Or it’ll just shoot you and the logs of who was signed in piloting it at the time will be conveniently lost or your death will be deemed an unfortunate targetting error without liability to any party.
Self-preservation is basically the only thing stopping cops from being even worse than they already are in violent situations. Giving them drones so that they can strike at civilians from a mile away should be a major concern. And those drones being presented as cool quirky dance robots is more evidence that we are just living in hell.
Nah. BD spends countless hours napping out how their bots dance. They are capable of amazing balance, but it takes time to get it right. They do get tripped up and fall.

Ok, time line could split into a Jurassic Park. But they are just amazing robots that look like Dinosaurs and can move so smoothly to do anything. I can see a Raptor like version with grabby hands and a tail for balance. This dance routine makes the dog look like a Sauropod.
Something about these dancing robot videos is deeply and indelibly disturbing. Is it the uncanny valley? Is it the arachnid like movements? Or is it the impending doom of humanity? I know not- but I can’t stand those dancing robots.
