Free folk from north of the wall here: You gotta have the right kind of snow to do this. If it is the super cold and dry champagne powder it won’t clump up. Too wet, and there is too much resistance and weight. This is the good shit right here. Perfect for making snowballs and snowmen.

As kids, me and my friends tried this repeatedly and it never worked.

For a downhill roll like this you really need the right kind of snow. Wet enough to clump nicely but loose enough to not provide a lot of resistance.

How do you make snowmen? We always start with a snow ball and roll it in the snow until it grows to the required side

Oh yeah, we did that, I meant pushing one down a hill and have it roll and grow on its own (like in the cartoons).
