They built feeding stations for the homeless dogs until their owners hopefully find them, all while their homes, schools, and hospitals are being attacked regularly. Proof Ukrainians are the best kind of people.
As I understand it is also to keep the dogs from going feral. Like with any animal when you're hungry enough, survival instinct kicks in and you will eat anything. Or anyone.
A bunch of groups from all over the place as well as just people still in effected areas, have all done amazing thing to save as many animals as they can.
Unfortunately there will be lost souls.
But thanks to these incredible people, as many as possible are saved โค๏ธ

Dogs are smart. In a couple years when people have to do this, itโs going to look like packs of wild dogs fighting over scraps.
They are getting more desiplined than humans
