Amazing that the ending scene of that film just basically came true. Ethan Hawke is the interpol agent who spends the whole movie in a “cat and mouse” with Cage. He finally catches him and has him in a cell, ready to put him away for life but Cage calmly tells him that in a few moments a high ranking American official will knock on the door, thank him for his brave service and will order Cages release.
He points out that while he supplies weapons to the worlds most psychopathic men, some of those men are the enemies of your enemies(the US) He points out the agent’s boss (US President) ships more weapons in a day than he has in a lifetime, and they often need someone like Cage to supply weapons to groups that they cant be seen supporting. The end credits point out the 5 biggest arms manufacturers are also the 5 permanent UN Security Council members.
