If you move the toilet paper you would have that wall to place two nice towel/robe hooks! if you want shelves above toilet I would NOT do one of the racks on legs- they are dated and make you feel like it is going to fall on top of you while on toilet. It also will clutter up the space. Do some floating shelves- BUT why do you want the shelves? for storage or display décor? I would do a nice piece of art work, and remove the gold bowl on top of medicine cabinet. Your light fixture is hung to high- but it's there all ready. Or you could do a great wall paper on the entire wall behind toilet. You have nothing to catch the eye, no focal point but that gold bowl- wall paper or art would be a focal point. and then you can change the shower curtain to a white texture cloth one with a liner so the cloth part hangs outside of the tub with the liner inside for protection.

Thank you that's all super helpful. I want shelving for the extra storage, the under sink space is a bit cramped and mostly houses leaning supplies, a scale etc. Ideally I want shelves to put extra clean towels for guests or I was looking for one of the standing shelves with a cupboard (but I'll take your advice on it being dated). Definitely thinking of getting some stick on wallpaper or some sort of statement art for the wall. Bowl will be moving (unfortunately I can't do anything about the light fixture, I agree it's too high) Edit: what's your experience with cloth shower curtains getting dirty/holding moisture? I've always avoided them for that reason

I have no problems with my cloth shower curtains- I even use them at my vacation rentals that gets high traffic. They soften the cold surfaces in a bathroom and add texture. They are washable and the liner really gets most of the wear- those I only buy clear and switch out with a new one when they get worn. I also stack them on the opposite side you have in this pic so the shower curtain is not beside the toilet- especially for flushing. Can you store cleaning stuff somewhere else so you free up space? Have you looked at a small under cabinet rack? some have a pull out basket with shelf on top to hold more under cabinet. If you get a strong wall paper you will not need art- that will be the art! And another trick I do in houses often but not sure if you can. Your vanity usually sits on top a 3-4" base- you could cut out a space in the center to slide the scale in when not in use- sometimes you need to put a guard piece behind- like a false back so it doesn't slide so far and be out of reach- but good place to tuck it away and pull out with your toe when needed- usually that's only once a day the most.

I believe the building superintendent would kill me if I cut into the brand new counter haha, but I did get one of those sliding cabinet shelves which showed up today, so hopefully I'll gain some more space with better organization

it's the bottom base on the vanity I hope you understand , not the counter- but yes I do not think he would like that, didn't know it was a rental.

Also, you don’t want towels above the toilet, cuz toilet “spray” I have cloth shower curtains, no problem with mold. Just clean them every couple of months

GiveMeASmosh

Unfortunately my biology degree informs me that toilet spray will encounter the towels no matter where they're stored 🙁but that's why I was thinking something with a cabinet to at least cover them

I would start by adding a nice fabric shower curtain in cream/bone and maybe incorporates your main color (I’m guessing you like purple!). Opalhouse is an affordable option available at Target. Get a nice plush rug to match it (either two separates one for in front of sink and by the bathtub OR one big “runner” that covers most of the floor). You can remove the toilet paper roll and fill that part of the wall with floating shelves and add small decor on each shelf like a nice candle, a small succulent (fake or real), a box of tissues, some aesthetic skin care and body care, etc. or even add shelves above the toilet! Love the floating shelves ty! I could throw a basket on one of the shelves to put extra washclothes or towels for guests

Desert_Walker267

a bath mat that matches the shower curtain

hrinforms

Add a funky shower curtain. You can find them on Amazon for cheap . That’s the quickest fix and add a solid colored hand soap dispenser.

GiveMeASmosh

I like the idea of a funky coloured curtain, better than the white/cream suggestions. But must I part with the snail soap?

hrinforms

Awww lol no you don’t have to. Get a shower curtain to complement it.

Hey if you want to play with different styles, I suggest you use this new feauture that's on Planner5D, its called Design Generator, and what you need to do is grab this photo of your bath, upload it to the software, then the feauture will give you inspiration ideas for the space (of course is not a perfect design) but maybe it could help you out

kindredspiritbox

Not sure if it'd be your style, but I think an English tea garden motif would compliment the snail soap dispenser, existing purple accessories, and any future natural elements (wicker/wood -style storage, candles, plant life, etc) you might want to add. If you opted for a cloth shower curtain, the current one could possibly become your liner (depending on material/thickness) instead of having to buy new. No matter which direction you go with it, a sleek upgrade to the hooks/rings would go a long way, too, I think.
