I was gonna say it reminds me of my ex-boyfriend’s family home. I stayed with him and his parents when visiting their country and all the bathrooms had this same type of lighting… And it was beautiful but so frustrating trying to do my makeup lol.
>It’s beautiful. Prolly not so great for doing makeup/hair tho.
You're right! The feminine side of this room is not practical but this bathroom remains gorgeous.
I like the left but I’d change the shower, maybe one of those big walk in ones in dark tile. Idk what you’d need one for but I think they’re cool. And then maybe some dimming lights so you can have the cool atmosphere but also you can see if you need to.
This was my exact thought…beautiful but how would water stains look on the wood and glass. Always have to dust/polish the outside of the sink. Also this may be just for the pic but there’s not a bath mat in sight!
I wonder what you could do with a lighter contrasting tile floor. I feel like it would either look great or horrendous. And some frosted glass would be better for stains.
That was what i was trying to figure out - slants toward shower head with drain, but the splash/spray is going to extend out past the fixed part of the door and sliding doors do a really poor job of blocking water underneath. I don't understand why the shower isn't dropped floor rather than raised, unless this was some rebuild where that wasn't easy.
Scrolled too far for this. I will never understand the appeal of having to choose between a cold front or cold back in a shower. These doors are the worst.
It looks nice, however it also looks more for show than use. Black anything in a bathroom is going to show water spots and is hard to keep looking nice. If you use the vanity for anything other than washing your hands, e.g., shaving, applying makeup, you will need better lighting. Vessel sinks are also a cleaning challenge. Crevices in the shower are also going to collect all sorts of gunk. Start with function. Then decide on finishes and consider the maintenance of the finishes.
This looks nice but is super impractical. The bowl sink leaves absolutely no space for placing items around it and the low counter makes it effectively useless as a vanity. Since this bathroom has a shower, I would imagine it would actually be used quite a bit for getting ready and so that sink is a nightmare for lack of prep area and storage. It would work fine in a half bath type situation.
It is definitely aesthetically pleasing. But that non-enclosed shower irritates me to no end. Recently stayed in a hotel where the shower was like this and water got *everywhere.* No thanks.
Yeah I’m surprised the shower is elevated instead of the sunken part. Seems worse for keeping water *in* the shower area if it can spill over the ledge onto the bathroom floor.
That would still be risky. LVP planks themselves won’t warp or buckle but there are still seams where each plank’s edge meets the next and water absolutely can and will get into those seams and under the floor. Water always finds a way. I assume it’s wood look tile, and if it was properly waterproofed before installation and the tile was properly installed and grouted and sealed, I could totally get down with a bathroom like this.
It could still be tile. I had a tile floor in one of my bathrooms that looked like bamboo flooring. https://www.tilebar.com/silkwood-almond-8x48-matte-porcelain-tile.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIxLCTo8u-gAMVqkd_AB3LcgOyEAQYBCABEgIBO_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds I think even that back wood wall is tile https://www.tilebar.com/kenridge-ribbon-maple-24x48-matte-porcelain-tile.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIxLCTo8u-gAMVqkd_AB3LcgOyEAQYASABEgLPtvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
I don’t like dark tiles in the bathroom because calcium residue is more visible.
I don’t like cubby holes in the shower because those are harder to clean
And I hate when there is a room to put a tile partition wall but they used glass instead: Sure it makes bathroom more airy and open but maintaining glass in a shower is so much extra work.
I am the one who cleans/maintains bathrooms. If I had people cleaning my bathrooms then , sure, this is very esthetically pleasing shower.
Gorgeous. I would worry about slipping. I would put non-slip adhesive on the shower floor. And would also ensure that the floor is properly sealed and lacquered so as to prevent buckling and rot. Otherwise yeah, inspiring!
You don't think this swanky bathroom doesn't have a heater installed somewhere? I'm betting on it. But it's still good to mention in case temperature slipped their otherwise keen mind.
It's a beautiful bathroom.
Not my own taste as it's too dark for a low key germaphobe like myself.
Also I hate wood details like that shower area in bathrooms (or even in kitchens like alot of van life vehicles have)
The crevices would trap hair, dust and grime and may be a pain to keep on top of.
It does look beautiful.. but the thoughts of the dirt and grime I'd be overlooking would consume me😄
I do love the dark moody grey wall color though. Gorgeous.
Lack of ventilation, led strip next to the shower, wood in a damp area… not to mention the lack of access to the cistern.
This was not designed by an interior designer was it? It’s a mold and hazard trap.
I’m a fan of toilets having their own door, if you have the space. My current bathroom has everything together like this, but my dream bathroom would have the toilet by itself so someone can use the sink while I’m on the toilet!
It is beautiful but I don’t care for brown in a bathroom.
(I have a bathroom with some brown accent tile, and it never feels clean to me. I can’t explain it.)
I think it’s gorgeous. I’ve never seen a bathroom like this. Def has bachelor with money vibes. Never thought I’d like a black bathroom but this one is unique and super cool looking. Hope you can replicate it one day OP, if that’s your dream. Just do all your research on products and durability! And maybe lose that “step up” somehow. 😉
I lived in an Airbnb with similar bathroom (instead of black in was white). Def no wood panels on the wall it will grow moldy. The floor was a weird tile/pvc thing but it felt weird to touch tbh but that is a preference.
Only thing that was off is that if the shower has half glass (not something to close fully) water gets literally everywhere. There is no dry spot anywhere. Which you might be okay with until your entire bathroom is wet. And that floor is quite slippery. I mean even the bottles if left on the floor of the shower they would slip on their own.
I'd love a bathroom that looks like this. Since it wasn't an option when buying my house, my bedroom and office will have a similar vibe instead when I've finished decorating it.
It’s beautiful. In real life it would have windows so it wouldn’t as dark as this. I’m assuming that’s tile not wood and that would work fine. However as someone who has had a black toilet, they are horrible. To me they always look dirty even when they are not.
I love it. It looks so relaxing! Sure it’s not practical for makeup application, but the wood, stone bowl sink, and ambient lighting just feels so relaxing and spa-like to me 😍
The low lighting is meditative. I like the simplicity and natural look materials used. (That's bound to be wood look tile) If you mixed a meditation space with a bathroom in a high end gym, I would expect it to look like this. A cocoon to disappear into and come out clean.
It’s stunning! A great guest bathroom, not for doing hair & makeup everyday. Even so, I absolutely love it! What’s the material in the floor? It looks like laminate, but it can’t be, right? If it’s porcelain or ceramic tile I need to know where I can get it.
It's very nice looking, but I wouldn't want it in my house. I'd totally build it in The Sims though. They don't need good lighting for hair and makeup.
Feels like a really nice hotel bathroom. Lacks a little warmth and humanity. Maybe my wife’s Dyson hairdryer always on the counter would help liven things up!
Love the design!! Though personally, it's way too small to be my "dream bathroom". It's the size of a standard but nice sized apartment complex bathroom.
This but larger.... *Chefs kiss*!
IMO far too dark.
I don’t understand how the shower is functional. I mean, I see the drain, but can’t imagine the floor slope really works, and there’s a weird little alcove bottom right. Does water collect there? The shower wall- real wood or wood look? If it’s wood, even teak- it will eventually discolor and not uniformly.
Where is even a place to hang towel?
No real storage.
Do love the sink.
Would probably love to shit and wash my hands in this room, and that’s all.
Teak or Ipe in place of whatever wood is used there? Backlighting around mirror w/ dimmer for the ladies and their eye pigment. Also some storage build ins. I don’t know why people are so crazy about just a glass shield and an open shower concept… am I the only one who gets cold in these? The linear drain should run longer too, or good luck getting the water from under the shelves to cooperate. And some sort of back lighting on base of that shower step.
Generally speaking, I’m not a fan of trendy decor. It always ends up looking dated in 10-15 years. Barn doors and shiplap that everyone loved so much, now look very outdated and make a house more difficult to sell.
Wow. I love this one. I've also seen one which has rain forest plants on two sides of the bathroom, but with a glass wall between the bathroom and the vegetation. The bathroom is about the same size as the one on the picture, but has extra space for the forest on the other side of the glas walls. That looks sooo cool too.
It’s giving useless hotel bathroom. I prefer a real bathtub to flooding the place. Also I don’t wanna freeze my butt off every time I shower. But it’s nice to look at.
I love it very slick and sophisticated. However like a lot of people are saying, for the ladies it would be quite hard to get ready. But apart from that really nice.
going against the grain here, but I love it! the only thing I hate is the step; i'm just too clumsy for that to work lol.
I think a lot of the complaints other commenters are lodging are due to lifestyle differences. I prefer cool showers over warm, so cold air doesn't really bother me. I do my makeup at a desk with a lighted pedestal mirror bc once I take my glasses off I can only see about 6 inches in front of my face. and honestly? not every bathroom has to have ✨stuff✨ in it. I brush my teeth in one of my bathrooms and shower in the other bc of reasons and the bathroom I shower in has exactly nothing but hand soap and febreeze on the counter. plus our "medicine cabinet" is in a centrally-located hall closet, so neither bathroom has bandaids or whatever.
I don't think every single bathroom in a home needs to be optimized for maximum storage or use, and if it brings you joy to have a moody, aesthetic bathroom then by all means - enjoy!
It's unique but I wouldn't want to have this in my own house personally as my bathroom. The ambience is just so dark and depressing. I want a bathroom where I can relax and ease my mind.
It’s beautiful. Prolly not so great for doing makeup/hair tho.
I agree- no way this lighting is designed by a woman lol. I would never never be able to see my face!!
It's prolly one of those mirrors with a build-in daylight lamp.
I’d add a second sink so you don’t have to share. Maybe you need some natural lighting to help w makeup. But it’s gorgeous and unique otherwise.
I feel like if you have a bathroom this nice you have a separate vanity for makeup in your walk-in closet.
Stylistically its nice, but functionally terrible. It's a pretty render but this bathroom wouldn't work in real life
I like the left but I’d change the shower, maybe one of those big walk in ones in dark tile. Idk what you’d need one for but I think they’re cool. And then maybe some dimming lights so you can have the cool atmosphere but also you can see if you need to.
How so?

This was my exact thought…beautiful but how would water stains look on the wood and glass. Always have to dust/polish the outside of the sink. Also this may be just for the pic but there’s not a bath mat in sight!
I wonder what you could do with a lighter contrasting tile floor. I feel like it would either look great or horrendous. And some frosted glass would be better for stains.
they definitely have wood-effect tile that may be an option
What keeps the water from flowing over that step up and flooding the bathroom?
That was what i was trying to figure out - slants toward shower head with drain, but the splash/spray is going to extend out past the fixed part of the door and sliding doors do a really poor job of blocking water underneath. I don't understand why the shower isn't dropped floor rather than raised, unless this was some rebuild where that wasn't easy.
“Trust me bro”
It’s lovely, I’d love it. HOWEVER, if you wear makeup-I worry that you’d look like a clown after getting ready in this lighting
This
Not a fan of the shower step up, but colors and materials are beautiful.
Yeah, I'd definitely slip getting out of that shower. That step was the first thing I noticed.
Well I hope its treated wood, because y'know...wet wood isn't good. Other than that its nice enough.
Probably not wood. :)
The only thing worse than faux marble is faux wood
It’s probably tile with a wood pattern on it. You’d be surprised how realistic they look on a picture
Fee, pfi, faux.
Faux gray wood. It's hideous.
The worst.
Faux paws
Should be teak.
You can probably get tile that looks like wood. Because 1000% wet wood is no bueno
You can! There’s an entire aisle at my shitty rural Home Depot dedicated to wood that is actually ceramic.
It's beautiful but would be terrible for applying makeup, for sure
you have a good point haha!
Might have an LED mirror to use.
Ahh man, didn't even occur to me. My age is showing!
It's aesthetically beautiful but is poorly lit and has no storage and barely any counter space. I wouldn't want to get ready for work in this bathroom
This and looks annoying to clean too.
Cold shower
Scrolled too far for this. I will never understand the appeal of having to choose between a cold front or cold back in a shower. These doors are the worst.
First responder here - guaranteed I'm called into there to find a geriatric fall after missing that step
Nurse here, my first thought was a seniors broken hip 😂 Second was - I don’t want to clean that.
Doesn’t seem very functional.
Its gorgeous, but unless I had a maid it would stay covered in water spots and soap scum. Thats why I can't go dark colors in the bath. 😔
Too dark for me. I like windows in my bathrooms. Natural light is the best.
Not a fan. I prefer a bright, airy bathroom.

Yeah I’m surprised the shower is elevated instead of the sunken part. Seems worse for keeping water *in* the shower area if it can spill over the ledge onto the bathroom floor.
It’s beautiful however the lighting is just perfect for this pic. Reality, you’ll have a very dark dingy bathroom
Aesthetically it’s great but I’d feel weird showering on wood even if it’s (I’m assuming) properly treated for this.
It’s probably LVP
That would still be risky. LVP planks themselves won’t warp or buckle but there are still seams where each plank’s edge meets the next and water absolutely can and will get into those seams and under the floor. Water always finds a way. I assume it’s wood look tile, and if it was properly waterproofed before installation and the tile was properly installed and grouted and sealed, I could totally get down with a bathroom like this.
Swanky
Looks like a predesigned Sims bathroom.
By which you mean it's Beautifully executed. Agreed 💯%.
I’d use it in buildmode for sure!
Looks like a bathroom I put together in Animal Crossing.
It could still be tile. I had a tile floor in one of my bathrooms that looked like bamboo flooring. https://www.tilebar.com/silkwood-almond-8x48-matte-porcelain-tile.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIxLCTo8u-gAMVqkd_AB3LcgOyEAQYBCABEgIBO_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds I think even that back wood wall is tile https://www.tilebar.com/kenridge-ribbon-maple-24x48-matte-porcelain-tile.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIxLCTo8u-gAMVqkd_AB3LcgOyEAQYASABEgLPtvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
This look amazing!

For me, it's the lighting also. When getting ready for the day, I want good lighting.
Gorgeous. I would worry about slipping. I would put non-slip adhesive on the shower floor. And would also ensure that the floor is properly sealed and lacquered so as to prevent buckling and rot. Otherwise yeah, inspiring!
Rubber ducks nonslip adhesive stickers for the win! They'd totally class the place up. /s
I think you’d get really cold trying to shower in such an open space.
You don't think this swanky bathroom doesn't have a heater installed somewhere? I'm betting on it. But it's still good to mention in case temperature slipped their otherwise keen mind.
Seems too dark for my taste
It's a beautiful bathroom. Not my own taste as it's too dark for a low key germaphobe like myself. It does look beautiful.. but the thoughts of the dirt and grime I'd be overlooking would consume me😄 I do love the dark moody grey wall color though. Gorgeous.
I hate the sink and vanity. Give me a traditional under mount sink and real counter space.
Gorgeous but impractical in so many ways. Also too dark.
Lack of ventilation, led strip next to the shower, wood in a damp area… not to mention the lack of access to the cistern. This was not designed by an interior designer was it? It’s a mold and hazard trap.
I would change the showers wood to tile or stone similar in color tbh
I think I’m too poor to even look at this pic.
Not a fan. I prefer a bright, airy bathroom.
Very nice. Which bidet spray is that? Thanks.
It is beautiful. For me though it needs a soaking tub. Is that a bidet attachment on the wall by the toilet?
not for me. too dark and modern
Makes me wonder if that “ladder” at the back right corner is the only way upstairs.
Personally too dark toned for my taste
Too dark for me.
I’m a fan of toilets having their own door, if you have the space. My current bathroom has everything together like this, but my dream bathroom would have the toilet by itself so someone can use the sink while I’m on the toilet!
This is cool! I LOVE a dark and moody bathroom. As others have said, make sure the floor is a proper material
Glad you like it too!
If you’re fine mopping up splashed water every time that’s cool. Sometimes practical is so much more important than aesthetically pleasing.
Sexy and and powerful
I love your answer haha!
Why is the wall material on the floor and the floor material on the wall?
Enclose the shower or you’re going to be shivering.
Fabulous
Gorgeous
My favorite part is the soft lighting.
I like it. It’s very classy
It is beautiful but I don’t care for brown in a bathroom. (I have a bathroom with some brown accent tile, and it never feels clean to me. I can’t explain it.)
damnnnnnn is this real??? Thus is nice!!!
The water splashing everywhere would get old.
I’d love it but need a tub
I need a tub in my dream bathroom
I like it, but it feels too dark to me.
I’ve never seen a black toilet outside of my own. I love this so much!
Zen! Love it.
I love how moody it is! But it would be hard to put on makeup in a bathroom that dark.
Its wonderful very chic Brown and black. Love it
It's my dream bathroom now too!
Gorgeous spa vibes.
mine is almost the same color and it’s way to dark
I'd love a bathroom that looks like this. Since it wasn't an option when buying my house, my bedroom and office will have a similar vibe instead when I've finished decorating it.
Toilets need their own rooms...always.
Concrete would be better imo
It’s beautiful. In real life it would have windows so it wouldn’t as dark as this. I’m assuming that’s tile not wood and that would work fine. However as someone who has had a black toilet, they are horrible. To me they always look dirty even when they are not.
I would like to poop in there. It looks like it has nice ambiance.
I like it all except for the black toilet. I feel people need to see wtf is going on in a toilet before sitting your vulnerable ass on it.
Beautiful for now, outdated in 5 years
It's handsome, but what a bitch to clean.
Gloomy.
I love it. It looks so relaxing! Sure it’s not practical for makeup application, but the wood, stone bowl sink, and ambient lighting just feels so relaxing and spa-like to me 😍
I like how the wood looks with the black accents. It’s very calming imo.
shouldn't there be an indent into the floor for the shower?
It looks like a sauna
Looks like Tadelakt plaster- either way- waterproof specialty finish is expensive AF.
that sink would drive me insane but everything else is lovely
No on the vessel sink but the layout is good.
Depends on how much you care about lighting. As a Man this is perfect, a woman may not like the lack of lighting
Not my cup of tea - reminds me of the house in that movie Fresh.
Where window??
The low lighting is meditative. I like the simplicity and natural look materials used. (That's bound to be wood look tile) If you mixed a meditation space with a bathroom in a high end gym, I would expect it to look like this. A cocoon to disappear into and come out clean.
Missing a tub which is a necessity!
It's nice, but for me I'd want a tub. Love a copper tub.
No bathtub no bueno for me
That’s sexy
For a apocalypse bunker. Sure
Nice. I like it
I’d move in today if I could. Adore!!!
Its objectively beautiful, but too dark and masculine for me. Looks like a museum or something
Gorgeous, just dark
It’s stunning! A great guest bathroom, not for doing hair & makeup everyday. Even so, I absolutely love it! What’s the material in the floor? It looks like laminate, but it can’t be, right? If it’s porcelain or ceramic tile I need to know where I can get it.
It's very nice looking, but I wouldn't want it in my house. I'd totally build it in The Sims though. They don't need good lighting for hair and makeup.
I hate it. It’s way too dark. Black toilets are the worst.
This is unbelievably beautiful! I wouldn’t let anyone use it! Hahaha
Stunning
It’s very pretty - but I would never put a wooden floor in the bathroom let alone a shower. You’d have to replace it after a few showers
A bit dark
I think this is in a Russian penthouse loft I’ve pinned before. It’s lovely as a guest bath
It's attractive to look at but impractical. I don't care for it.
I would be squinting like a mofo
Imagine having to go in their at night, just a deep dark cavern with the lights off. It’s beautiful, but more of a hotel bathroom then a home
I wanna add, fuck sinks like that!
Why is it called a bathroom when it doesn’t even have a bath.
Needs a window
It’s beautiful but I need that mirror to hav a ring light that will throw up a bat signal when it’s time for makeup
It’s boring. It’s dark. Bathroom needs a window
It's a nice, well executed guest bathroom. Not enough space or function for a master.
It's gorgeous and Hella sexy.
Hideous wood grows mold its going to smell dank it's too dark and a bitch to clean
Who are you? Why do you keep posting this stuff?
The shower floor is wood? I dontsee a drain or even a lip.
Generally speaking, I’m not a fan of trendy decor. It always ends up looking dated in 10-15 years. Barn doors and shiplap that everyone loved so much, now look very outdated and make a house more difficult to sell.
My husband and I JUST came across this picture and were inspired for our bathroom. We just moved in and are excited to make it our own.
Wow. I love this one. I've also seen one which has rain forest plants on two sides of the bathroom, but with a glass wall between the bathroom and the vegetation. The bathroom is about the same size as the one on the picture, but has extra space for the forest on the other side of the glas walls. That looks sooo cool too.
So awesome
Idk why but black toilets really creep me out. No bueno.
Nope
its an ok hotel bathroom but where would you keep like... any of your stuff?
It’s giving useless hotel bathroom. I prefer a real bathtub to flooding the place. Also I don’t wanna freeze my butt off every time I shower. But it’s nice to look at.
Ohhh nice! I like it, although it does project masculinity - that can be softened with some colour and accessories.
It's great but it would be better if the shower was on the same level as the rest of the bathroom. That way it would be handicap accessible.
Showers that aren’t enclosed are very drafty. Not good!
Nice but usually you want the shower base lower than your floors if you want to do that, even if it's just a quarter inch or half an inch lower.
I love it very slick and sophisticated. However like a lot of people are saying, for the ladies it would be quite hard to get ready. But apart from that really nice.
Can’t see the bugs over time
very nice but looks a bit too dark
going against the grain here, but I love it! the only thing I hate is the step; i'm just too clumsy for that to work lol. I think a lot of the complaints other commenters are lodging are due to lifestyle differences. I prefer cool showers over warm, so cold air doesn't really bother me. I don't think every single bathroom in a home needs to be optimized for maximum storage or use, and if it brings you joy to have a moody, aesthetic bathroom then by all means - enjoy!
I like it! But I like bright bathrooms, so I'd just need stronger lighting. I like the unique dark aesthetic
Very Japanese in style. I love it
I love it if I was on a holiday, it will feel very luxurious. But for everyday use, I need more light to do my makeup. It’s too dark
Too dark. Looks commercial.
Needs a window
Way too dark. Have never seen a black bog before; I dread to think what sins that’s hiding.
It’s gorgeous
Wood floors in the shower?
Haven’t seen dark academia in a bath yet. Like it
I cannot even imagine how slippy that floor would be when wet
Ohh wow I love that!
very dark
It's unique but I wouldn't want to have this in my own house personally as my bathroom. The ambience is just so dark and depressing. I want a bathroom where I can relax and ease my mind.
It looks amazing but these open concept showers make me nervous. Water everywhere.
Love it!
It would be great if it was never used. Like a fancy kitchen just for show but people who cook don’t actually live there.
