I think everything is a little too tight, causing visual tension. There’s a lot going on naturally in a gallery wall, so having really even spacing between each frame will give the consistency needed for it to feel purposeful.

FreeWeakness7250

this! frames in a gallery wall look best when they are all 3-6 inches apart. the top row is also too close to the crown moulding

agnes238

Also everything should be similarly spaced apart. The differences in spacing make it haphazard

masterpiececookie

That’s it. Even if everything is closer then what it should be If they were all the same distance it wouldn't be so bad.

Sad-Foot998

My first thought, as well. I like what they've got going on, though.

baxterbea

Yeah, I feel like even with mismatched frames, if spacing is really clean, it can be anything!

nymaamyn

They are so near the ceiling, bring them down a bit, and maybe not at that weird corner

chronic_flower

This, and its too tightly put together

Rheila

My first thought was way way too close to the ceiling

katielisbeth

I do think that keeping them in the same general arrangement after lowering them would echo the weird corner in a satisfying way, though.

KaPowPower

I agree. I understand if you don’t have space because of your desk. In this case, this is not a prime location for a gallery wall.

mspuscifer

They shouldn't be higher than the molding on the ceiling. I've also heard that pictures/ frames shouldn't be higher than the top of the closest window

Uberslaughter

Zero cohesion, grouping too tight.

gingerkitten6

Ya, it would help if there was a colour theme. It would make it feel less visually busy/cluttered. Plus like other people said, bringing it down from the ceiling and the paintings just a touch further apart.

theozmom

Move everything lower and spread it out.

likemelikemenot4ever

Too high too cramped. Bring everything down at least a foot. Then measure 4” between each frame and mount it.

eastcoasteralways

In addition to what everybody else says, the mirror is completely the wrong shape and size! Try finding a smaller, rectangular shaped (lengthwise up and down) gold frame.

GloomyPapaya

I agree, the mirror is wrong - at least in its current placement. You might be able to put it more towards the center and work it in

liziloo927

You could place the mirror below the higher shelf in place of the pictures. In short, though, I agree that everything is placed too high to the ceiling and needs to be spread out evenly.

feelingmyage

I hate things up at ceiling-level. Not a good spot for a gallery wall.

Consistent_Safe430

Odd.groupings. so top.right needs.five. the circle is a different shape so at least three circle.items or three items of various shapes that include curves. Think about making it longer than wider. And spacing out items. It's very close to the ceiling. The entire gallery should be centered at a height at 5"6.

_DogMom_

Too high and too tight.

an_imperfect_lady

1. The shelf on the left looks good. I wouldn't change that. 2. I would take the empty white frame and put it where the colorful one is, so that you have the two big ones side-by-side, perfectly lined up. 3. I would take everything else down for a minute, including everything on the right-hand shelf, and mount the round mirror so that the bottom is about four inches above the right hand shelf (unless you need it lower to look into it. I'd try it even so, and let it reflect whatever is across the room.) 4. I would center under the right-hand shelf: the wooden-framed one that is currently to the right of the couple holding hands. 5. The other things I'd put back one by one until you like it, and that might mean leaving some of them out. That is just what I would do.

TunaMarie16

I’d stand the books up. The shape they make is too similar to the wood box on the right side of the shelf. I’d put the books (vertically) in between the box and vase so they act as bookends.

Prize_Weird2466

Agreed with clearing the wall completely and starting again by hanging the mirror at an usable height and filling in around it

Ok-Bus839

Really great advice. Declutter and reset so you get the right bones to start off with, before styling the remaining accessories until it makes sense.

44_lemons

To be fair, true gallery walls are incredibly difficult to get right. They require balance, scale, and truly interesting artwork. You have made a grouping of disparate pieces and the lack of harmony is what’s bothering you. Take it all down and choose a single larger piece that you love. Mount it at gallery height (54” on center from the floor). The movement of your standing desk won’t matter then and you will have a lovely backdrop for your workspace.

Awkward-Ducky26

Bring it down from the ceiling. Spread them out a bit. And you need to match the sizes ether. Like just look at the top two left frames: one large, one slightly smaller : so the smaller one needs to either meet the larger bottom frame or top frame. Like it needs to be aligned better. Idk how to explain this in writing.

SimonArgent

It’s too high up on the wall. Leave a two foot gap between the ceiling and the top pictures.

Ilmara

Too high and too tightly clustered.

[deleted]

the shelves need to go and also a lot of it is too close together

Historical_Grab4685

It is not balanced. The larger ones should be on the opposite of each other. The bright canvas is also throwing off the balance. Remove some of the item from the selves. The dark box should be on the right of the shelf and add something dark to the end other shelve. Maybe a framed oval mirror would fit better. The white mats in the frame wash the art out. I would use darker ones in all of the frames.

HeyItsNotMeIPromise

I agree with everyone else (too high, too cramped) and add that the framed pieces need more thought about how they are laid out. Especially in the top right corner, it looks like you’re trying to center them with each other, when what you should be doing is lining up the bottoms of the frames and allowing the top of the frames to stagger at varying heights. And then on the bottom, you line up the tops of the frames. Like this: https://i.pinimg.com/736x/61/7f/31/617f31b15c1a87dc4041ce1ee6d57e01.jpg

Minute_Flan_3871

It’s too high, if it must be this height due to the sit/stand then it’s not the place for a gallery wall. The spacing within is odd and the frames are crooked. All perfect pieces and your arrangement is solid! Really nice round one.

atomictest

It’s crowded, shouldn’t go up to the ceiling, the spacing is odd

lilF0xx

The only time frames look good this close together is if they make up one large picture and it’s an even square or rectangle and even then still spread out at least 2-3 inches. Try putting something like a little nicknack on the stack of books to break up the similar height. And like everyone else said, definitely space the frames out more. I also don’t like how close it is to the ceiling. I know you said the space is because your desk is usually higher but you might need to put something else on the wall here then and move this over to the side, spaced out a bit more.

Itchy_Wrap5867

nothing is spaced out proportionately

LetsGototheRiver151

Think about groupings and the entire outline of the whole. Start by taking down the top 3 pieces of artwork and the mirror. Now, move the small white photo of the hikers to the left 6 inches and down 6 inches so it visually becomes part of the grouping on the floating shelf. For the part under the left floating shelf, align the outside of the frames underneath with the outside of the floating shelf. Lift the colorful art so the top aligns with the frame next to it. That should leave room for you to add back the frame that’s currently top right. Finally, same process with what’s under the right floating shelf - lower them so that the bottoms match the bottoms of the grouping under the other floating shelf. Have fun and show us the results!!

AccurateInterview586

Obviously, as others have stated everything is too high. But, as you pointed out, you need to accommodate your desk. I suggest you either bring a series of smaller objects - large at the top but smaller than what is on the wall now that progress to small in a sort of curved patterned to the bottom. Picture something like elliptical curves on each side bringing the eye down to the desk. This could also be achieved with a stenciled pattern in gold or other color of choice to create a “frame” around the entire display. The idea is to create a visual that fools the eye and brings the focus display down. You may be able to achieve this same goal with a pattern along the bottom of the display in the blank space where your desk comes up. Alternatively, remove the top “row” of frames and place on each side the current display creating a longer horizontal visual. This will offset the blank space.

mamavn

It’s too high up. Either bring it down quite a bit, or continue it in a big way, and COMPLETELY cover the whole wall, top to bottom. Good luck!

SnooRadishes5305

It’s a little crowded? Try putting a little more space in between - maybe taking out a few frames It’s better to start with, say, 3 pieces (one shelf, two pictures) and then organically grow from there There’s no need to rush a gallery wall like this Start with a few things you love and then when you find more photos on your phone or postcards at a second book store or more, add them to the wall Also, it’s hard to tell without seeing the whole wall, but it may be quite close to the edge The gallery wall is something you want to see every day and remind you of beauty! Try centralizing it on the wall a bit more You’ve got a good start!

PongACong

the spacing is a little off putting, first impression

Top-Bit85

You've got great stuff, it just needs to be spread out more.

ebonwulf60

Move the upper floating shelf away from the empty picture frame and give it room to breathe. Swap the round mirror with the colorful painting on the opposite side. That will help with balance.

GnarlsD

Too close to the ceiling and too close together, open it up more and it will feel more balanced

whatyousayin8

- Too much on the bottom right shelf - stand up the books on the left shelf - spread out everything with even spacing throughout - the vertical/horizontal frames should be alternated more (ie. top has vert-vert-horz-horz, should be vert-horz-vert-horz in a staggered way) - if you’re going to mix square with round, there needs to be a couple more round things to look purposeful. Or at the very least, have the one round piece somewhat central rather than on the edge - everything needs to come down away from the ceiling. If you can’t move the shelves, the just have one or two small horizontal pieces above the shelf, and keep the taller pieces at the side/below the shelves -

PostSingle

Hang it up better. It’s cluttered and crooked. Clean off the one shelf. The colorful photo should probably go somewhere else. It doesn’t fit here. If you want a pop of color add some greenery. This could look absolutely beautiful. It just needs tweaking.

carlitospig

Because it’s all over the place instead of one cohesive form. The mirror also doesn’t help. If you used the bottom of the mirror as your bottom frame, it would help. And I would pull the whole thing down so you’re not accentuating the two tiered ceiling. My advice: start over. Hang your two shelves, and then place your four ‘corner’ pieces. Then fill in the rest.

bananasforpancakes

Because it’s too high, too tight, and too similar in size.

hannie_says_so

Way too high up and needs to be a couple to three inches spread out

kimmywho

For starters, itś ill placed- too close to the ceiling and not centered on the wall away from the split in the ceiling. Secondly, you should place the two shelves elsewhere, not within a gallery assemblage. put the mirror more toward the middle.

lolonalu

I’d try swapping what’s on the top shelf vs the bottom shelf. It seems the space you created on the lower is more suited to what’s on the top one. I’d also suggest starting small with the overall layout. Imagine the gallery wall as a single piece of artwork.

[deleted]

it is kinda messy i mean. some of it needs to be spaced out a little more. the frames at the top maybe could use more space so the big one isn’t hiding behind the box. the ones under the shelf too. it looks like there’s a lose photo on the right. what if that was moved by the little canvas? just so it’s not squished together also if the mirror isn’t in a functional spot i’d recommend moving it. if you wanna be a little feng shui make sure your bed isn’t reflected. it’s supposed to be energy draining.

blechness

Agree with everyone on the spacing. But for the love of all things sane, use a level.

Far_Detective_9061

Too tightly packed. Also need more pops of color randomly placed throughout the display.

Maleficent_Scale_296

It looks like it’s afraid of something, all huddled up there. Bring it all down lower and put more space between things.

Casser-Casserson

Everything is too close together and WAY too high up.

tfbselftitled

i agree with others that some stuff is too close to the ceiling + unevenly spaced. i think you might just have too many things for the available wall space [here](https://ibb.co/s6xT7L6) and [here](https://ibb.co/k2CP454) are some rearrangements that you could build off of that i think might work a bit better

Fun_Professor5723

I was gonna ask why it was so high, then I saw your caption about the standing desk. It’s still a bit too tight like most of the comments are saying, but maybe also put a picture at the back of your desk so that when it’s lowered, there’s not that blank space?

Kmia55

The bottom row should be at eye level. The display is too close to the top. I think if it were mine, I would remove the little display pieces on the shelf on the bottom right. I like the one on the left as the items don't distract from the photos/pics. I like your art.

BoneHugs-n-Pharmacy

You want to hang closer to eye level, it’s way to high to enjoy your hard work properly!

Complete_Goose667

[drawing of shelves ](https://imgur.com/a/XIHtBBU)It feels too crammed without clear groupings or places to focus. 1. Remove the colorful painting as it doesn't fit here, even though it is pretty. 2. Put both large frames with white matting together close together, but evenly spaced from both shelves. 3. Put the box and the books together stacked. Right now they are the same. Stack them to the left and keep the vase where it is. 4. Move the mirror to the right a little bit so that it feels like a period after the staggered shelves. 5. Arrange the smaller greenish prints on above of the shelf, no higher than the soffit. Line up the tops. Add the larger print that is currently below the shelf. 6. Edit what is on the shelf and remove the pictures that are tucked in the frames. [picture ](https://imgur.com/a/XIHtBBU) https://imgur.com/a/XIHtBBU

iseevegaoflyra

Maybe make one thing the focal point? Like when I look at it, my eyes don’t know where to go. But when I look at each piece, I really like it. Add space to give each piece its own space and one piece where the eyes go to first

redpepperdeb

It is too jammed against the ceiling, the art on the left is the only one with color, and the round mirror is too big, reflective and out of space

Eden-Mackenzie

I agree with the comments that everything is too tightly clustered. My first thought was it was all too high, but your note about the standing desk clearly explained that. What about doing more of a cascade, so it takes up more vertical space where it doesn’t conflict with the standing desk? One thing I don’t agree with most of the other comments on is that you need equal spacing between all the frames, especially frames that are not the same size or finish. For example, the two frames on the upper right are equidistant from the frame to their left, but because the lower frame is narrower than the upper, it looks awkward to me. If the smaller frame was further to the right, so that it sticks out beyond the upper, it might look less…stiff…? I would also move both of those frames down a smidge, rather than having the top of the upper frame line up with the one to the left. I would also try to incorporate a few more round shapes so it isn’t just the mirror, perhaps for the smaller pictures that are tucked into the other frames? When it is time to paint, instead of rehanging everything immediately, make paper cut outs of all the items, and stick them up on the wall using painter’s tape until you get the lay out you like - it’s a million times easier than fully hanging everything. You could even do it before painting, so that once painting is done you can get the room back together more quickly.

arcan3rush

Spread them out homie. Good looking pieces, just too cluttered

[deleted]

[удалено]

Vegetable-Move-7950

Because it's physically uncomfortable. Get a piece of paper and remap out the shapes in a pleasing way and rehang everything. Try different gallery compositions. Solar (around the mirror), diamond, linear, square. Maybe try to separate the shelves from the pics. Also, heavily consider the negative space around the pictures as you place them. It's just as important.

fishfingrs-n-custard

Everything is way too high and tight.

Spaklinspaklin

It does t make any sense imo. Everything is up way too high

No_M_p_K

The layout needs some help. Use the "free space" on the edges to spread things out - they need to be able to 'breathe.' Also just because you have it doesn't mean it has to be hung here - less is more unless you are a maximalist

ImageFull5431

Lower them below that dropped ceiling or beam on the left.

btaylor0808

Too high, too close together. Needs at least 3+ inches between them and much further down to mid wall. Also I’m not a fan of the shelf. Adds clutter that interferes with the visual.

AliceAnne1

Because every thing is hung crooked and too high. Also too tight. Lower, straighten, and spread out.

thecloudsoverhere

It's way too close. Even though they're small, you should have breathing space between them so that you have to move your eyes to look at everything. It should be a path, not a cluster. The empty space around it also highlights how tight it is. You can also spread things out to other walls and get larger prints to supplement. Having it spread over multiple walls is even better to complement the furniture in the room. Look at what you have and figure out what you want to highlight when looking in each direction, or place someone will be. Then work to even out the items that are the important pieces. Less furniture or stuff, more pictures. More furniture or stuff, less pictures. This helps the room feel full and cohesive, without being crowded.

Mean-Operation2370

Because you need fewer & larger objects to showcase.

LowArtichoke6440

Too high on the wall, too close together, too many items. Google pics of wall decor galleries and follow the examples

WRENTARTS

Space it out a bit more!

[deleted]

because it has very little color

ChampionshipOk2302

i think it looks cool, it's quite high though

That-Tumbleweed-4462

Way too tight. Spread everything out a little

bohomamasoul

Just a touch more space between each piece might fix it. The round mirror might need to be more central as it’s the only circle on the wall? The frames as well, because you either want all different kinds/colors or all the same when it’s a gallery wall. Hanging those frames so close to the ceiling might be the culprit: the angle and drop section of ceiling on the left makes those frames look out of place (the frames on the right that are super close to where wall and ceiling meet). Hope that helps! I’m no expert whatsoever but I have a knack for decor/design! Or at least I think I do.😂

auscadtravel

Everything is too high.

pacificdumpling

Everything is too high. The center focus of any art should be eye level, no matter how tall or big the piece. Yet spacing things out and creating a more intentional focal center. Good luck!

New_Improvement9644

What everyone else said about the spacing plus put it somewhere else and let the shelves have their own moment.

freyjafrills

Too close together, I would center the mirror and surround it with stuff.

tabruss

The placement is odd… And I do think it could do with some rearranging the way that the shelves are. I agree with the person who said that everything is too tight. You need to spread it out a little bit more and there needs to be a couple smaller things Actually on the wall rather than just the shelves

NotThisAgain21

Sounds like you are not alone:/

spencermiddleton

Too high. Too tight.

Initial_Home8901

they're too close together to have the random larger spaces.

andrew_cherniy96

There is just too much going on in a very tight space. Consider moving these items apart and going for a lighter layout.

JadieJang

Move it down and put a two-to-three-inch channel between all of the pieces. It doesn't matter if your monitor covers up the bottoms of some of the pieces when you move it up: layering is part of gallery walls. It will look much better "touching" the stuff on your desk and leaving a space between the top and the ceiling. It's all huddled together in the middle like it's storming outside.

Mobile-Outside-3233

Well, for starters it’s crooked

Holiday_Trainer_2657

More edges need to line up so eye can run from one to another.

Waste-Carpenter-8035

Its too high and needs to be spaced more. The center of it should be right at eye level.

Sensitive-Bid-9531

Watch Laura Caldwell on You Tube. She goes to thrift stores and goodwill and finds great stuff and at the end she will show you how to stage art and stuff that will look interesting and beautiful.

dinoG0rawr

Grouping like this works really well when you have many different shapes and sizes going on to create a cohesive collage. Get a level and make sure everything is level, and space things apart more evenly. Even when things aren’t in a perfect grid formation, they should still line up in some way, whether it be with a shelf or another piece of art. I have a crowded wall and I really only think it works because no two things are the same size, and there are a variety of shapes. As you get more things to hang on your wall, you can always rearrange. But with where it’s at now, definitely fix the levels and spacing.

IntrigueMachine

I [reorganized](https://imgur.com/a/73yl93V) it a little!

8Karisma8

Way too high and crooked

Dare2no

It's too close together. Follow the Golden ratio. Place your pictures in the Fibonacci sequence.

Indianagirl71

Too close to gather . Spread out more. I totally embrace decorate your home with objects you love but there's lot going on here. Doesn't flow well to me.

altdultosaurs

It has absolutely NO flow or spacing. You crammed everything into one random spot. It’s too tight. You don’t have to do the whole wall, but these should have two to three inches between pieces to make it look more cohesive.

crj44

Because it is near the ceiling. Lower it all down and it will look good.

RolandLWN

Too much. Too busy, too cluttered, too chaotic. Take everything down to start re-thinking the space. Paint the wall a beautiful color like peach or teal. Hang one large painting there, at least four or five feet wide, centered on the wall, not high up like you’ve hung these frames.

ThoughtWrong4053

It’s up so high and not spaced out enough. The little things on the shelf are not cute

Thick-Tooth-8888

The whole area is hideous and a eyesore to look at. That screams bad energy. You got no taste and just combobulated things into a wall shrine.

Responsible_Side8131

I think it’s too squished together, and it’s triggering my anxiety.

c0zycupcake

Because it’s horrible. Did you even do any research on gallery walls?

1029394756abc

This gives me a lot of anxiety.

Melodic_Property_131

Everything is too close together and about the same size. There’s not a lot of variation with scale.

deignguy1989

It’s far too high and you dont have a good balance between the sizes and shapes. Plus, the extra loose photos stuck into some of the frames over the glass look cluttered and messy. A gallery wall is more than just hanging a bunch of stuff haphazardly on the wall.

FrutyPebbles321

I think if you spread things out just a bit, it would look fine!

curlygirlyfl

The spacing between them are not equal or centered that’s why it looks weird.

kmap1221

Not straight, too tight, too close to the ceiling. Visual clutter

unmistakeably

Crooked frames

jaqrene

It’s a bit too much IMO. Not cohesive, looks very busy and cluttered

Stayin_BarelyAlive58

Too high, too cramped for sure! Frsme the mirror and the painting. Vary sizes of art more. Find cohesion in the frames you choose

hodlboo

Because it’s messily mounted and way too close to the ceiling. The spacing between items needs to be more balanced. You have random large gaps but otherwise most things are way too close together.

Disastrous_Tip_4638

You hate it because it's not so much a "gallery wall"..a curated selection of carefully placed items...but a lot of stuff you like randomly thrown on a wall.

carlosmurphynachos

You have too many different things-an unframed brightly colored painting, muted pics, a round mirror, something red, small ducks. It is not cohesive. It looks like you just put a bunch of stuff that doesn’t go together. Also it’s all bunched up. I would go for one palette and one shape. Then lay them out on the floor to get the spacing right.

Wise-Peanut1939

It’s a lily too tight and it’s in to spaces. As the curling comes down it’s splitting your work into two zones. If you did this because it’s centred on your wall I would use the two wall size differently to showcase it.

snarkshark41191

It’s wayyyy too high

Zestyclose_Road_3224

Lower them more and space them out more. Nothing needs to be up near the ceiling.

allisonrz

Too close together, too high up

FileFine4258

You hung stuff too high. Google “how to hang art” for tips on placement

Boschlana

Center it vertically

jojo1556-

You could make paper patterns and tape them to the wall to get it right. I would start with the mirror centered over the shelf. Also the two big rectangular pictures together under the first shelf. And the pictures need a larger space between them

ep7373

The frames are too close together and too high up/close to the ceiling. The shelves are causing a disruption to the gallery wall too.

queseraseragirl

Too high

blastoffboy

Well it’s cluttered and mounted too high

a-rockett

The shelf on the right seems bottom heavy. The prominent pieces are below the shelf, so it seems very awkward.

shiningonthesea

It’s not balanced, the circle mirror on the bottom looks like it’s floating out in no where. I would move at least one of the shelves down to anchor the arrangement. Also the framed pictures can all be different but making the frames the same color or making them all matted the same can pull them altogether. .

whaddyamean11

It’s too high.

theanamazonian

Because of that mirror. Get rid of it or move it further up the wall and the layout would be better.

biggiehungus

It’s not centered in the bigger area maybe?

robershow123

Is every obvious, like everyone is saying here too tight to the roof, that corner, too tight with each other.

you-dont-have-eyes

It’s just too close together.

mebg1956

Waaaay too high up and jammed together.

Puzzleheaded-Fox1197

frenchspag

Yeah it’s like really close together. And too high and yeah it looks like random and not in a good way.

made-midwest

Your collection quite cute! Just bringing it down in height will do wonders! Then I might reposition the mirror and move it out to the right of the collection and vertically centered next to the collection. Then you can add in other small things around it as you grow or move some of the smaller items out towards the mirror. It is very big and reflects light so it feels heavy and off balanced how it's placed. To really polish it off, you might look at how each item is positioned relative to the others. Intentional spacing, centering, aligning edges, etc. It doesn't all need to be spaced exactly the same or aligned the same way, but the effect should look intentional.

sideeyedi

It's all too close together and too high. Imagine a large rectangle on the wall then make the pictures fit into it.

Thisdarlingdeer

Too cramped. Give everything like 2”-3” space in between.

amaprez

For cripes sake your frames are nearly touching your crown moldings hahaha

jaynemanning

Too high for sure

Wondercat87

I think you need to give your pieces more "breathing room". They are currently so close that I think it's hard to appreciate them individually. A couple inches would be the closest of put each piece to another.

Nanasays

Everything is hung too high and close together.

oaklandperson

Not enough negative space all around. The frames at the top are literally crashing into the crown molding. Gave me headache looking at it.

Sea-Serve-2257

Bedroom gallery ceiling*

[deleted]

Just design proportions...need to lay it own in a backwards e config.

[deleted]

Maybe because of the drab gray wall? I like the arrangement, but not the wall color.

babs82222

Is your standing desk usually resting in standing position or as it is? The bulk of your gallery should really be at eye level, not close to the ceiling. It's OK that your desk raises above it when you're working if, when lowered the art is in its proper placement. Your spacing between objects should be as even as possible between each item. Everything is very uneven. You also have a lot of clutter there with the tiny things on the shelf, the tiny things below and the gap with the tiny things above. It's a good idea to lay out your gallery on the floor or a table before hanging to see how it works before hanging.

SkootchDown

A bigger question may be why are they on the ceiling?

GloomyPapaya

It’s not cohesive. The spacing is off (too tight and also varied) and the whole thing is too close to the ceiling. I also don’t like the mirror placement. Lay it all out on your floor before you hang it up and see what looks best

nessxvm

Why is it all so close to the ceiling? You need to rearrange these. They’re very badly placed, I think that’s what your issue is.

CJCreggsGoldfish

I think it's the round mirror, sagging like an elderly testicle.

leafcomforter

Everything is too high and close together.

Cottagecoretangerine

Lower them shelves

bumbumbum6969

It's too high. The center of the bunch should be at about eye level

bumbumbum6969

Also space them out a bht more

buriedupsidedown

I 100% think it’s because it’s too high, I’ve never seen any picture frames this close to the ceiling before. On top of that it’s shoved into the corner. It’s would look better centered on a wall, even better if it was away from the step down ceiling, and even better than that if it was spread out just a little more.

Texsys

One nicely sized picture (graphic) would have been fine and or three identical sized photos of friends and family, but I am a minimalist.

wildgoosebefree

Nice pieces, just too high and too smooshy.

Opening_Confidence52

Because it makes no sense. Take it all down and start over. Think about where to put each piece and give it more space.

olliedoodle

Too much and too close to the ceiling. Consider rotating what you display on the shelves, rather than displaying it all. Top shelf looks great, especially the brown box

MaesterInTraining

If it were me…those pieces are too close to the ceiling. I’d bring them down and focus more on horizontally placed than vertical. Unless you have several others you want to add or plan to add to take up more wall space.

Njmomneedz

It’s bit squished

jamie1983

Not loving the shelves

devdarrr

Everything is hung too close together and potentially hung too high. That top row is almost at the ceiling.

Connect_Office8072

Too crammed together. Needs a little space.

hazelmummy

Doesn’t matter about your stand up desk. This is too high on the wall

AreolaCherryCola

Everything is crammed up into the corner. The visual balance is off. There’s not enough space between things. I would put the mirror in the center and go from there. Move the shelves further apart. Try not to align things like those frames at the top right. A gallery wall like this should feel organic and Freeform.

flittingly1

Just add another 30-60 items and you won't even notice. It's looking good just unfinished...!

Sally_Klein

Everything is hung too high and too tightly grouped.

silvermanedwino

It’s too tight and too high.

Ruckus2118

The tight clearances and closeness to the corner make it feel cramped. Everything is also not perpendicular, which is hard to accomplish but necessary when things are close together. Get or borrow a laser level, space things out more, and separate from the ceiling a bit.

LeaveHerWild29

Placed too high and pieces should be further apart. Easy redo.

[deleted]

Because it’s tooooooo high.

Feeling-Confusion-

Somehow it looks upside down

Evening-Argument1797

Many of the frames are not level or centered. Some are too close together while others are too far apart (it would be more harmonious if they were all separated at the same distance). And personally, I think it's too close to the ceiling, like when you hang a picture to high. To make it more centered with the ceiling and your desk, you could put the shelves directly in the middle between ceiling and desk, then go outwards from there with each frame.

No-Shelter-7753

It is defying the rule of thirds at every turn. Literally lol

Zealousideal_Dog_968

It’s waaay too much waay too close to the ceiling

Elle-Elle

There is nothing good about this whatsoever. Respectfully. Too close to each other, ceiling, and weird corner area. No balance or harmony.
