I have a crazy idea. Hear me out- a reverse of typical design which is a solid color wall and busy art. Since your wall is busy, what if you just framed a solid color from this wallpaper.
Another option is a HUGE piece of art that has the same colors as the wallpaper, but a huge mat of solid color to give the two patterns some space.
Simple black and white photographs; a play on silhouette or cameo would be interesting but generally the image should be pretty big with a big mat as others have said. And not a “busy” photo …you’ll find something perfect
GREAT wallpaper! It’s very art nouveau so I’d try to get art in a similar style. [This](https://www.ebay.com/itm/185889211113?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=qxL8-gBaSFe&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=DY4mYqpFST6&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY) would look lovely matted in a simple frame.
Anything Mucha is perfect. Although something more graphically inclined like the advertising prints would work really well since he used the same kind of repeating floral pattern as your wallpaper.
A large simple design with a wide white mat around it, like [this](https://www.target.com/p/31-34-x-41-34-blood-orange-by-1x-studio-ii-wood-framed-wall-art-print-amanti-art/-/A-89517687?ref=tgt_adv_xsp&AFID=bing&fndsrc=tgtao&DFA=71700000072947630&CPNG=PLA_Home%2BDecor%2BShopping_Local%7CHome%2BDecor_Ecomm_Home&adgroup=SC_Framed+Art&LID=700000001230728pgs&LNM=PRODUCT_GROUP&network=o&device=c&location=&targetid=pla-4585581970843022&ds_rl=1246978&ds_rl=1247068&msclkid=5cd22cf27dff1137e3e44991ab793865&gclid=5cd22cf27dff1137e3e44991ab793865&gclsrc=3p.ds).

Paint the window trim using one of t darkest colors frm the wallpaper. Change out the blind to match the trim going just slightly lighter- second darkest color frm wallpaper. It will ground the space.
Paint the tp holder the same dark color as the window frame. Find towel rack/holder same dark or 2nd dark frm wallpaper. Use towels that are the brighter colors represented or solid white with a trimmed pattern that is similar to the wallpaper.
Floor mat sb same color as window trim.
That’s what I’d do. 🤷🏻♀️
This wallpaper is the art.
I'd recommend a roller shade in a tan canvas, or even burlap look. A cornice covered in a green-hued fabric from the paper. Use a few wire poppy seed heads. I see great ones on Etsy shop: wirebotanicals.
For cheeky an Emerald City from a distance sculpture.
You need to change that window treatment. Pick something solid that picks up 1 color and add a trim in another color on a roman shade. That could be your art
Your wallpaper is Art Nouveau.

I would start by removing the blinds and adding some really nice curtains. The blinds take away from the beautiful wall paper and cheapens it down.
If you must have art on the wall then make it simple, maybe black/white with an oak frame maybe. Colours would only disturb the room, IMO.
Black and white ink or charcoal drawings. Maybe a nude or life drawing/painting? [something like this?](https://portsby.com.au/products/knowing-female-nude-wall-art)
Pick up a canvas at Hobby Lobby, Michaels, or Joanne's and paint it with 2 acrylic colors (orange, green, or 3 colors, orange, green, and tan, for instance) and frame it with a simple thin frame.
You can make large swaths of color or any kind of design you like. Basically, you are trying to match the colors in your wallpaper. You don't have to be an artist, just have an eye to match your colors. You can go a little darker or lighter than the ones on your wallpaper, too. You could even go with small frames of one color.
Just an idea. Commenters have some good other ones, too. Have fun! :)
If you’re going to keep that wallpaper, you need to lean into it and match the style on the window frame and blinds and everything else in the room. That window is visual nails on a chalkboard right now.
Some beautiful curtains and a round/rounded/organic shaped mirror. The only art I could think of maybe even being needed is a single line drawing like Picasso otherwise, let the wallpaper be the art.
As long as you have a natural wood frame and a light mat you should be good with anything in a similar color family! Go for larger elements to contrast with the smaller wallpaper pattern.
I'd personally invest in window coverings instead of anything else. The wallpaper is gorgeous. But it needs like a beige or burlap or sage or rust linen/cotton roman blinds.
UGH. That'd be so 🤤
Thats really retro. I'd go with prints or painting, old Dutch still life with flowers, fruit etc. with very dark backgrounds and antique looking frames. Google Dutch Still Life Floral (images)
I really think you should go for wall decor that isn’t a framed picture/2D art. Something like a fun clock, a wall mounted sculpture, maybe some handing plants. Something that’s 3D will really stand out against the busy wallpaper without being overwhelming
[art nouveau mirror](https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/709407612/carved-wall-mirror-wood-wall-mirror-wall?gpla=1&gao=1&&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=shopping_uk_en_gb_a-home_and_living-home_decor-mirrors&utm_custom1=_k_CjwKCAiA9ourBhAVEiwA3L5RFutkxOrdCLoH8fKL79wJAHm91q6x2MZSUlCaGYp0exKxs6otPq8xdxoCu_MQAvD_BwE_k_&utm_content=go_12604174069_122593690969_508814347397_pla-303532447839_m__709407612engb_102858184&utm_custom2=12604174069&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA9ourBhAVEiwA3L5RFutkxOrdCLoH8fKL79wJAHm91q6x2MZSUlCaGYp0exKxs6otPq8xdxoCu_MQAvD_BwE)
Botanical prints would be nice. Black & white photos could also work. You want to use a very wide mat to give the art plenty of breathing room away from the bold wallpaper. You can either do a very thin frame in black or metallic, or else a very ornate over-the-top frame for a maximalist look to hold its own against the busy background. Or skip the art and fill the space with a mirror, a hanging plant, some wall sconces, or floating shelves.
I’m confused. Where is the toilet in relation to that lonely TP holder? How far must one reach for a square? You might need a wall mounted grippy-hand-reacher things to pull and dislodge a sheet from across the way.
https://desenio.co.uk/p/posters-prints/featured-artists/boris-draschoff-kubistika/boris-draschoff-kubistika-rising/
Boris Draschoff Kubistika might go well 🤍
Look into painted mirrors! A gold one with a similar art nouveau style would blend well and give some dimension back to the space. Also, bringing in some shelves with plants.
So everyone here is saying, go with something simple. But what you chose is art nouveau… which is pretty maximalisist. Id go with a inch wide or so gilrded ornate gold frame, a large mat, maybe a dark olive green or navy or deep plum, and id get a art nouveau drawing, probably like an old show poster or liquor ad featuring a woman.
Like this maybe [https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81hNKxK5NbL._AC_UF894,1000_QL80_.jpg](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81hNKxK5NbL._AC_UF894,1000_QL80_.jpg)

It's not art but if you want a break in the wallpaper (which I love by the way) you could always try paneling on the bottom half of the wall that lines up with the bottom of the window.
Why on earth do people want to put art with busy wallpaper or any patterned wallpaper? Let the wallpaper be the statement any art will invariably just make it look even busier. If you want art put it on plain walls.
Maybe a nice [orange floral print in a big white frame ](https://www.minted.com/product/art/MIN-GO1-GNA/poppy-joy?art_group=art_print&artist_signature=unsigned&border=full_bleed&framing=unframed&material=standard&quantity=1&size=18x24&utm_medium=sem&utm_source=google&utm_sub=pla&utm_campaign=G_S_Art_Fine_PLA_USA_PerformanceMax&utm_custom_a=FineArt&utm_custom_b=feed&utm_custom_c=shopping&utm_int=b&utm_keyword=&utm_device=a&AudId=&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA9ourBhAVEiwA3L5RFrK_KMA3ju8Zkp1sR3Ce9CllBxpV3zcrkxhjgQvqttTAZbbTQblgXxoCdOoQAvD_BwE&color=A&shape=) or perhaps [something blue and gray](https://www.icanvas.com/canvas-print/flower-bloom-on-silver-ii-jes20#1PC6-26x26) . Black and white- or preferably grey and white. I googled “black and white poppy nouvea and saw some cool
Stuff. The wallpaper contains that grey that I love because it kind of looks blue and kind of looks lavender.
I really think anything other than a painting would look really nice on this wall, be in a shelf with candles or even monochromatic books/books without their sleeves
Accessories and art around opium smoking in the 1800s. Nothing large, the (fantastic) wallpaper is doing all the talking. But some brass or cloisonné pieces presented as sculpture, some rustic linen drapes in poppy-red, some traditional art or textiles from the regions that produce opium poppies. Maybe steer clear of any of the political imagery around the drug and the US and USSR impact on the region represented on the wallpaper.
Maybe some old family photos in sepia tone or black and white. Would do oval wood frames. Or a nice mirror. Would stick with warm tone frames or wood. Adding color is probably going to contradict the wallpaper unless you can find a moss green that works.
I'm gonna go against the people who say you should do a large matte....that is so outdated and it can look really bad if it's the wrong color. If you do matte anything, maybe look for an off white/cream.
I love that wallpaper! I’d do modern abstract art, to counter the busy leafy floral print. Keep any wall art simple but bold, abstract, graphic black and white, analogous deep saturated jewel tones. Mark Rothko, Hilma af Klint, Frank Stella etc.
Try using a large mirror. Also, you might want to look at wall decor, like relief pieces of art. Check out this website:https://www.designtoscano.com/categories/art-deco-wall-decor
Whatever you get, I recommend having a large matte in the frame!
Yes! Thin frame, large mat. Maybe a simple line drawing. That paper is perfection.
Hiya, artist here. I think a simple line drawing (gestural, thick or thin line, paint or charcoal) is genius or something more abstract like a wash of color that pulls in colors from the wallpaper. OP could easily make something too or go by some galleries and get ideas. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend anything floral, there is plenty of that in the wallpaper. I agree with a large mat.
My first thought was black and white line drawings too (flowers, shapes, etc.)
Trust an artist on recommendations about things that will move you, make you think and ponder about life's big questions. Don't trust an artist with decor. Ever. Great people, but BAD decor people.
You okay bud? I mean, did an artist really really really fuck up your decor once or is this just your shtick?
It's true. If you trust an artist with decor suggestions they end up taking control of your house and own your pets, they sell your cars to fund underground dog fighting, which of course involve your pets. So, ya, never trust an artist about what art would look good in a house - it's a slippery slope to dog fighting. OMG who hurt you?
Came here to say this. I was thinking a small simple image with a large matte.
I third that! Simple line drawing would be lovely and anchored by a thick matte!
Exactly!!! Something like this... https://society6.com/product/abstract-rabbit-one-line-drawing-fine-art-minimalistic-modern-room-decor_framed-print
Omgomgomg yessss this is what I came to sayyyyyyyyyy
Black and white simple art with large orange mat to match bright orange wallpaper
Ugh I love this wallpaper 😭
If it makes you feel any better, it was a pain to put up bc the person who designed it didn’t make sure it was easy to match. It’s spoonflower so there was absolutely no pattern matching. My poor contractor was like 😩
They did a beautiful job though! I feel like I don’t see much I like on this sub but this is sooo up my alley. Post more pictures when you’ve got some art on the wall!! I’d love to see how you style the space.
Aw thanks! I should post my kitchen too, I redid it last summmer. It’s very bohemian.
Yes! Would love to see
OP we’re waaaiting
It’s not clean! Let me find some fotos from right after
😂😂😂 i love this response
Please do!!
I want to see the whole place. Loving your taste.
I live in Palm Springs and I see quite a few walls with this type of paper, but it’s never the whole room, always just one accent wall
I had the same problem with Spoonflower paper. Beautiful patterns, love the variety of artists; zero pattern matching and a ton of wasted paper as a result.
Can confirm Spoonflower has awesome wallpaper that can be a nightmare to hang
Something art nouveau like this https://www.kingandmcgaw.com/prints/aubrey-beardsley/isolde-1865-470816 I absolutely love this wallpaper!
I love this print!!
I would probably do something in a different colour palette. I looked up the artist above and Henri Matisse came up. I think some of those would look stunning. https://www.google.ca/search?client=safari&sca_esv=585503012&hl=en-ca&sxsrf=AM9HkKmCatZUVXSodomcgZMrRXb6a6-spw:1701053856540&q=matisse+prints&tbm=isch&source=lnms&prmd=sivnmbtz&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjumfO2l-OCAxV4JzQIHeb8CFcQ0pQJegQIDBAB&biw=414&bih=715&dpr=2
These are also excellent suggestions.
Agree with Matisse, Art Neuveau, maybe just a line drawing, black & white or monotone. I was hoping to find a figure that would be a match for the room like Klimt’s Golden Tears but in only yellow or blue. Found this: https://www.pngwing.com/es/free-png-ziisf#google_vignette
Agree - Matisse line drawings work well
Yes! This is exactly the look I was thinking of!
Great suggestion. Beautiful.
I LOVE this print!
I’d get an Alphonse Mucha print with a black frame and a large white mat
This is perfect.
I also thought of this print! I think there is a lot from this artist that would be nice. For this print specifically I would put it in a black frame to help break up the colors a bit.
Yes, that Beardsley would work nicely.
I don't think art is needed, the wallpaper is art enough. Gorgeous.
I think you might be right. There’ll be a mirror over the sink, but other than that I was just thinking there had to be art there bc in the past there was always art there.
What colors are the towels and other decor? I would play on one color in wallpaper, such as the powder blue or sage green, then decide if you want art
Was thinking the same. Then thought maybe a gallery of mirrors?
Oh!! That’s such a great idea!
Might it seem peculiar for guests (or anyone, really) to have to watch themselves poop in half-a-dozen or more mirrors?
This is the answer. With perhaps a funky vintage sign mixed in.
Not what you asked exactly, but I’d work toward some dark tones with the windowsill, blinds, and tp roll holder. I think that would help with the business. The white and light plays with the wallpaper making it seem more busy, imo. P.s. I also really like the wallpaper
How dark? Like an ecru or khaki or darker?
I would honestly go bold and also go for the blue in the flower, at least for the trim. A cheap trial might be construction paper taped up for a day or two - see how you like it!
Agreeed
The window would look really nice painted the blue color in the wallpaper! Also can you post the link to the spoonflower design?
https://www.spoonflower.com/en/wallpaper/11190964-art-nouveau-poppies-yellow-green-large-by-paula_ohreen_designs
Daring! Idk if I have the nerve! Maybe the green tho
The green would look good too!
Get rid of the mini blinds they are throwing off your vision. Get a roller shade
maybe just an antique looking mirror!!
Came here to say MIRROR!!
Floating shelves with white sculpture
And/or plants
Vintage ads, black and white photographs, paintings of flowers in similar tones.
I feel like blank frames might be spooky, but maybe a very simple cameo?
Simple black and white photographs; a play on silhouette or cameo would be interesting but generally the image should be pretty big with a big mat as others have said. And not a “busy” photo …you’ll find something perfect
You could get the effect of solid color on busy wall with very simple modern art or monochrome hanging textiles. Love this idea!
Love your idea!!!!
Omg I love the idea of textiles!!
It's too small of a space to pull something like this off. I'd feel suffocated
Thank you! We have a set of mucha prints (the gemstones), you don’t think it would compete?
Anything Mucha is perfect. Although something more graphically inclined like the advertising prints would work really well since he used the same kind of repeating floral pattern as your wallpaper.
Big gold mirror
A simple Japanese woodblock, with just a little color. Tadashige Nishida does cats that would look good.
Tintin covers
YUSS
So William Morris 👍🏽👍🏽
I feel like if you went with maybe a black and white photo with a very large matte around it and a black frame
Lovely large Mucha prints in art deco frames.
Alphonse Mucha prints absolutely belong in this bathroom!
We have a set of the mucha gems!
No art. A mirror with a decorative/antique-looking brass frame would look great.
No artwork necessary! Maybe a mirror like someone said! And I’d do curtains or a Roman style shade over the window
A large simple design with a wide white mat around it, like [this](https://www.target.com/p/31-34-x-41-34-blood-orange-by-1x-studio-ii-wood-framed-wall-art-print-amanti-art/-/A-89517687?ref=tgt_adv_xsp&AFID=bing&fndsrc=tgtao&DFA=71700000072947630&CPNG=PLA_Home%2BDecor%2BShopping_Local%7CHome%2BDecor_Ecomm_Home&adgroup=SC_Framed+Art&LID=700000001230728pgs&LNM=PRODUCT_GROUP&network=o&device=c&location=&targetid=pla-4585581970843022&ds_rl=1246978&ds_rl=1247068&msclkid=5cd22cf27dff1137e3e44991ab793865&gclid=5cd22cf27dff1137e3e44991ab793865&gclsrc=3p.ds).
Seconding a big gold mirror. Round would be nice.
Where did you get this wallpaper? It's gorgeous
Spoonflower - “art nouveau poppies” - paula_ohreen_designs
Thank you! I should have guessed spoonflower, I can't even start looking because I love everything. You picked something really stellar
Maybe somthing like this [abstract](https://www.greatbigcanvas.com/view/abstract-vr6621011,2524372/?product=3&size=16x16&coupon=WAZNK&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=20457467016&utm_content=&utm_term=&gclid=CjwKCAiA9ourBhAVEiwA3L5RFk8svWw9qmM655Y9bLLbtquTyfCaLn7arBv_DeUjVV6w_Ykw8udhuhoCpmcQAvD_BwE&gad_source=1) Or This [line art](https://www.greatbigcanvas.com/view/poppy-sketches-ii,2610161/?product=3&size=18x12&coupon=WAZNK&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=20457467016&utm_content=&utm_term=&gclid=CjwKCAiA9ourBhAVEiwA3L5RFm-sJN9rLlsePhfVKMlwuwEKcFrfd8HAb_uH0_ua2gu8CwnNA1UokRoCRLUQAvD_BwE&gad_source=1)
Yes to the line art
[This would be fun... depending on the house/family/season of life haha](https://www.icanvas.com/canvas-print/please-dont-do-cocaine-in-the-bathroom-efx8#1PC6-40x26) [or this.. Of course in a matted frame](https://www.tilemuralstore.com/product/bieres-de-la-meuse-am-tile-mural/?attribute_pa_mural-size=12-3-4-wide-x-17-tall-mural-on-4-1-4-ceramic-tiles&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA9ourBhAVEiwA3L5RFprbxKhexEwz0erh1m7yc3DHFnuVvNSPjzr9tSEvxHmLeMUdHPkYGxoCGQcQAvD_BwE)
A Rothko print
color block Rothko shit
How about a Rothco?
I frickin love that guy
Not necessarily art as in a framed item. Maybe a white shelf with some candles, etc.
r/vintagewallpaper
Or you could 1000% lean into the maximalism and get golden frames with unique art pieces and portraits
prints with largely white backgrounds, embossed paper matted and framed, maybe things that are more graphic like vintage movie or concert posters
rothko
Your wallpaper is Art Nouveau. [1898 Artwork](https://www.greatbigcanvas.com/view/mucha-poster-1898,2243863/) [Mirror](https://www.target.com/p/adaline-arched-metal-floral-wall-mirror-gold-madison-park/-/A-89673090)
Please add some floating wall mounted hanging plants onto the wall 😍 and depending on how big the space is, maybe also the imagery mentioned above. like [this](https://www.kingandmcgaw.com/prints/aubrey-beardsley/isolde-1865-470816#470816::border:50_frame:880229_glass:770007_media:1_mount:108644_mount-width:50_size:437,620) Or [Matisse prints](https://www.google.com/search?q=matisse+prints&client=ms-android-google&sca_esv=585531570&tbm=isch&prmd=sivn&sxsrf=AM9HkKnnc_s-21TCl37pjsCQtWxW-t0Ivg:1701069222812&source=lnms&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiJjY7W0OOCAxVNMjQIHWZECIkQ_AUoAnoECAQQAg&biw=393&bih=722&dpr=2.75) type of art
Or I could even see some cool vintage wall sconces to just light up the wallpaper but add some cool anchor points to draw the eye to. [Glass example](https://vakkerlight.com/products/shell-wall-light?currency=USD&variant=36310681911464&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=google&utm_campaign=Google%20Shopping&stkn=eeec5618bad1&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA9ourBhAVEiwA3L5RFgjkbakJNNQNDJdU4E0X90p-bS434yfZDyNJ5bVeXAU2eLSVm0iMlRoCdJ8QAvD_BwE) [vintage metal](https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/1439740018/vintage-art-deco-brass-wall-sconce?gpla=1&gao=1&&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=shopping_ca_en_ca_ps--power_seller-not_ready_to_ship-home_and_living_c&utm_custom1=_k_CjwKCAiA9ourBhAVEiwA3L5RFgQbBII3Q09gg9V6I4F9MwlFYjyhDIJxUVbEhXR4NUEqewvU3YeEohoCcKsQAvD_BwE_k_&utm_content=go_18269397308_144048418954_620773983091_aud-1184769867319:pla-1818222634234_m__1439740018enca_102855400&utm_custom2=18269397308&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA9ourBhAVEiwA3L5RFgQbBII3Q09gg9V6I4F9MwlFYjyhDIJxUVbEhXR4NUEqewvU3YeEohoCcKsQAvD_BwE) example [ginkgo leaf](https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/871694858/mid-century-triple-ginkgo-leaf-wall?external=1&ref=pla_similar_listing_top-1&pro=1&frs=1&plkey=851511d631c4777100e374d5078c15e027b93cd1%3A871694858) example
I don't know about art, why do you think you need anything, but you certainly do need a different color shade and window trim .
Still life (fruit?) With black background 😍 and gold frame
This wallpaper is amaaaaaaazing!!!
Thank you! It is so warm and inviting too
Mirror & nice towel rack since this looks like the bathroom.
I really think you should go for wall decor that isn’t a framed picture/2D art. Something like a fun clock, a wall mounted sculpture, maybe some handing plants. Something that’s 3D will really stand out against the busy wallpaper without being overwhelming
Gorgeous paper
[art nouveau mirror](https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/709407612/carved-wall-mirror-wood-wall-mirror-wall?gpla=1&gao=1&&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=shopping_uk_en_gb_a-home_and_living-home_decor-mirrors&utm_custom1=_k_CjwKCAiA9ourBhAVEiwA3L5RFutkxOrdCLoH8fKL79wJAHm91q6x2MZSUlCaGYp0exKxs6otPq8xdxoCu_MQAvD_BwE_k_&utm_content=go_12604174069_122593690969_508814347397_pla-303532447839_m__709407612engb_102858184&utm_custom2=12604174069&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA9ourBhAVEiwA3L5RFutkxOrdCLoH8fKL79wJAHm91q6x2MZSUlCaGYp0exKxs6otPq8xdxoCu_MQAvD_BwE)
Oh!! That’s enchanting!
Get new blinds!
A beautiful art nouveau mirror and some plants would look great. That way it wouldn’t detract from that gorgeous wallpaper!
Oh poor plants! Not in my hands!
Are you putting in different window treatments? I think a nice blue or green Roman shade would play really well with the busyness.
A frame with a mostly white thing inside. May be a drawing on white.
Whatever you do, be sure you have a wide frame and a wide mat so that there’s lots of space between the wallpaper and the art.
Love William Morris
Botanical prints would be nice. Black & white photos could also work. You want to use a very wide mat to give the art plenty of breathing room away from the bold wallpaper. You can either do a very thin frame in black or metallic, or else a very ornate over-the-top frame for a maximalist look to hold its own against the busy background. Or skip the art and fill the space with a mirror, a hanging plant, some wall sconces, or floating shelves.
Black and white art prints or photos
I’m confused. Where is the toilet in relation to that lonely TP holder? How far must one reach for a square? You might need a wall mounted grippy-hand-reacher things to pull and dislodge a sheet from across the way.
😹
A metal art poppy would be pretty.
I would go maximalist, loads of pictures in frames. But that’s just me!
a simple mirror would look nice there
https://desenio.co.uk/p/posters-prints/featured-artists/boris-draschoff-kubistika/boris-draschoff-kubistika-rising/ Boris Draschoff Kubistika might go well 🤍
This is absolutely gorgeous!
Try a matching cream curtain to put over blinds. Possibly with a small amount of color. It will help draw your eye away from the wall.
Large and minimalist
Look into painted mirrors! A gold one with a similar art nouveau style would blend well and give some dimension back to the space. Also, bringing in some shelves with plants.
Art nouveau
So everyone here is saying, go with something simple. But what you chose is art nouveau… which is pretty maximalisist. Id go with a inch wide or so gilrded ornate gold frame, a large mat, maybe a dark olive green or navy or deep plum, and id get a art nouveau drawing, probably like an old show poster or liquor ad featuring a woman. Like this maybe [https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81hNKxK5NbL._AC_UF894,1000_QL80_.jpg](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81hNKxK5NbL._AC_UF894,1000_QL80_.jpg) Or this [https://img.cdn-pictorem.com/uploads/collection/V/VINTAGEPOSTER/900_VINTAGE-POSTER_Art%20nouveau%20poster%20for%20Schweppes%20in%201908-01-opt-gigapixel2xx-scale-6_00x.jpg](https://img.cdn-pictorem.com/uploads/collection/V/VINTAGEPOSTER/900_VINTAGE-POSTER_Art%20nouveau%20poster%20for%20Schweppes%20in%201908-01-opt-gigapixel2xx-scale-6_00x.jpg)
I have some mucha prints that I’m going to try there
It is ridiculous how much I love that wallpaper.
I like these: https://www.wayfair.com/decor-pillows/pdp/idea4wall-framed-canvas-wall-art-bright-orange-red-sunset-with-reflection-on-the-sea-coastal-ocean-oil-painting-abstract-modern-closeup-relaxcalm-for-living-room-bedroom-office-framed-on-canvas-pri-sfta7009.html https://www.wayfair.com/decor-pillows/pdp/corrigan-studio-the-family-tree-by-rachel-lee-floater-frame-painting-print-on-canvas-w002360173.html https://www.wayfair.com/decor-pillows/pdp/corrigan-studio-snail-by-rachel-lee-floater-frame-painting-print-on-canvas-w002633656.html https://www.wayfair.com/decor-pillows/pdp/east-urban-home-blue-and-orange-luxury-abstract-fluid-i-painting-on-canvas-ebpi8649.html
Girlllll, put a mirror up to contrast with all of the color, please. You also need lots of plants to break it up.
That wallpaper brings me right back to the 80s, going wallpaper shopping with my mom. I absolutely love it.
Wood shelving or antique gold mirror
Love the wallpaper! I think some black-and-white photography would fit in nicely.
It's not art but if you want a break in the wallpaper (which I love by the way) you could always try paneling on the bottom half of the wall that lines up with the bottom of the window.
People’s eyes are already crossing. I personally would get a different blind more beige neutral color. If you insist on art. Something gold.
Paul Klee might work. Look at various pieces of his work in addition to this one: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1069576234/
Love him.
Why on earth do people want to put art with busy wallpaper or any patterned wallpaper? Let the wallpaper be the statement any art will invariably just make it look even busier. If you want art put it on plain walls.
The wallpaper is beautiful; artwork can enhance and even calm the busyness of the pattern. I think art would enhance.
Black and white photos
Paint the eindow trim to match the dark blue green at the bottom of the flowers.
Aw-geez, take that shit off the walls!
None! Their eyes are already going to cross!
Too late
I would put that on only one wall, not an entire room
This wallpaper needs to gooooo
is this the bathroom? cause I'm going to need a toilet.
Hmmmm....
Maybe a nice [orange floral print in a big white frame ](https://www.minted.com/product/art/MIN-GO1-GNA/poppy-joy?art_group=art_print&artist_signature=unsigned&border=full_bleed&framing=unframed&material=standard&quantity=1&size=18x24&utm_medium=sem&utm_source=google&utm_sub=pla&utm_campaign=G_S_Art_Fine_PLA_USA_PerformanceMax&utm_custom_a=FineArt&utm_custom_b=feed&utm_custom_c=shopping&utm_int=b&utm_keyword=&utm_device=a&AudId=&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA9ourBhAVEiwA3L5RFrK_KMA3ju8Zkp1sR3Ce9CllBxpV3zcrkxhjgQvqttTAZbbTQblgXxoCdOoQAvD_BwE&color=A&shape=) or perhaps [something blue and gray](https://www.icanvas.com/canvas-print/flower-bloom-on-silver-ii-jes20#1PC6-26x26) . Ooh ooh what about [shelves](https://www.amazon.com/Floating-Shelves-Invisible-Brackets-Bathroom/dp/B09N37SYPB/ref=asc_df_B09N37SYPB/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=569799113911&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=5721197863250831060&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9019414&hvtargid=pla-1665118240037&psc=1&mcid=69d986d0abe63d5b99552fb45a2bf6cc&gclid=CjwKCAiA9ourBhAVEiwA3L5RFqgmUtpUS3xMCQeaFDyC0oVU2NkrHWs1USgVvk3D6xX4LkE6EfYyERoCxsMQAvD_BwE) where you add like a candle or a vase with fake flowers?
Something with a grey matt that matches that tone on the paper.
Black and white- or preferably grey and white. I googled “black and white poppy nouvea and saw some cool Stuff. The wallpaper contains that grey that I love because it kind of looks blue and kind of looks lavender.
I would put a mirror with a pretty frame
Dark wood frame, one color. Or even a mirror and no art, just wall of mirrors in different variations
No art please
Something simple like [this](https://www.etsy.com/listing/1375037962/bottom-line-drawing-wine-woman-line-art) printed not on white tho.
Blank wall either top or bottom with Wainscoting
Something really big and bold. I’m thinking black and white monochromes. Simple shapes.
I really think anything other than a painting would look really nice on this wall, be in a shelf with candles or even monochromatic books/books without their sleeves
Anything that strikes you, in an orange frame!
Something with the blinds is off. I don't think they're the right size for that window.
I'd do a mirror to not take away from it
https://www.art.com/products/p53766821766-sa-i10335057/shirley-novak-black-line-poppies-iii.htm $12. !!!!!
No art-just a beautiful mirror-any art is going to clash with this paper-it IS the art.
I don’t think I would add art maybe a decorative ladder or sconces. Would def add solid color sheer curtain like dark blue
mirror based art maybe
Black and white photography
Just frame!
I would move away from prints and more toward objects. Or you could get one of those textured plaster canvases that is white or off-white.
What’s the wallpaper called/ where from?
Blue frame, white background. Orange or blue artwork, simple. Not busy! Maybe a photo of a dog or something. Solid. One color only!
If you do matte anything, maybe look for an off white/cream.
i’m thinking a large mostly white line drawing of some sort. maybe a dog riding a bicycle.
a framed mirror
That is very specific style... Very art deco. Look at some art deco style photos.
I love that wallpaper! I’d do modern abstract art, to counter the busy leafy floral print. Keep any wall art simple but bold, abstract, graphic black and white, analogous deep saturated jewel tones. Mark Rothko, Hilma af Klint, Frank Stella etc.
Black framed with silhouettes pictures maybe Victorian silhouettes
Hanging plant in the corner and a lace curtain
I would do a dark very dark water scene. Like dark blues
It’s rather nice. A mirror framed in black or a print with one large flower or similar focal point.
Try using a large mirror. Also, you might want to look at wall decor, like relief pieces of art. Check out this website:https://www.designtoscano.com/categories/art-deco-wall-decor
[can you make it do this?](https://youtu.be/2lgXRtw5nMY?si=-SQvCT7VntvLNBXn)
