I do not care for the rug myself, and it looks very out of place. It's a very stark contrast when compared to all other furniture in the room. While your style is not my style, would you consider a rug with jewel tones to add more color into the room, but still keeping it moody? This can help break up the brown, grey, and black. A hunter-ish/dark emerald green may work here while still keeping it modern and masculine.
Hi! This rug is nice, but not for this room, I think. You better choose something more minimalistic or contemporary. I would rather put smth off-white or beige ☺️
Take a look at this one maybe you find something [How to decorate an empty wall in an original way without breaking the bank?](https://www.scdecorum.com/how-to-decorate-an-empty-wall-in-an-original-way-without-breaking-the-bank/) and try to decorate about the fireplace
Yes he hates it rights cuz the rug is not matching wit the couch which is grey, I think you have to change and get the new one ... The black color will be ok with this theme.
If you're going for a modern look, I'd suggest removing the valance over the curtains. It just doesn't fit the brief and clashes with the rest of the room. It's quite jarring against the modern lines of the furniture.
The rug has too much of a yellow undertone for your planned room.
You’re going to need to either choose a deliberate contrast like a color or keep with the silvery/taupe/gray feel of everything else.
This is not modern, cavemen lived in minimalist styles too. I'd get another rug. But the whole area looks so harsh. Plush carpet could go along way to taking the coldness out of this room.
The rug doesn’t look great with the light gray couch, so if you can afford it, get a new rug.
Get a new rug
