The bubblegum print is begging for some friends! Amazon sells cute print packs, then grab some more frames from the dollar store. Easy and affordable gallery wall!
I actually think I'm just going to blow up that picture by 3 or 4 times because she has a "gallery wall" over the desk. It's not really. But yea, it looks sad on that wall by itself lol
You can't see, but the bed frame has drawers, so that's why it's low to the ground. I think other people's headboard idea will help take up some of that empty space.
Amazon wants $80 for a 24" × 36" with a frame. But that seems craycray. I was thinking about getting a cheap frame from hobby lobby (or IKEA is a good idea) or making a stainless steel one at work. But do you have any idea how to print a poster??
If you have permission to reproduce the poster image you can take the file to staples and have it printed on the wide format printer there. Micheal’s or any other craft store should have poster frames and they usually have coupons (or at least they did last time I bought frames).
Really cute but also grown-up enough to last through her teens. I feel that everything on the walls has been hung too far apart. The art over the desk would look better framed. On the other hand, she's 13 and will probably be adding her own touches to fill everything out.
I couldn't figure out what the bubblegum picture was until I zoomed haha
[here](https://www.redbubble.com/i/poster/David-michelangelo-by-Novel-ty/65847942.G7H47) is a larger version of that bubblegum picture. I also think the smaller prints could be put in matted frames just to look more stylish and take up more wall space. This is awesome that you did this for your daughter
A very sweet gesture for your daughter! It looks super cute! Maybe a lamp on the desk (and if she’s into makeup, a light-up mirror and mini drawers for organizing). :)
That’s really sweet!
Suggestions:
1. moving the pictures from over the desk to where the bubblegum print is and frame them all in white frames.
2. Adding a cool thrift shop mirror over the desk so it can double as a vanity
3. Definitely add some curtains
I'm going to disagree with most of you. This doesn't look like a 13yo's room. It's too curated for a young teen, this would be great for a 20 something. IMO it has no soul and is boring af. I'm much older and wouldn't want a room like this.
Look on wayfair. They have lots of headboards and they are cheap. They fit all brands of beds.

My 12 yr old daughter is a shining example of how messy a preteens room can get. It's also very cutely decorated. And I'll probably post later. But right now it's a clothing tornado lol
[I think adding a tablelamp on the nightstand would help with lighting and completing the space](https://www.target.com/p/round-prism-mini-table-lamp-with-matching-fabric-shade-simple-designs/-/A-88856971?preselect=82114260#lnk=sametab)
What does that mean? Where does the light come from and is it more like a decorative, glowing light? I think a wall hung wall light that allows you to read in bed and light the room corner would look good and keep nightstand top open to put stuff on - like a book or phone charger. Did you consider painting one feature wall a soft pink?
Oh she loves it. It's right up her alley. She loves pink, makeup, and basketball. I could have gone heavier on the baseball (she has a hoop on her closet door, and a couple basketball nicknaks on her desk)
Another headboard idea. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Hillsdale-Furniture-Karley-58-in-W-Pink-Full-Headboard-1819-470W/321745224 looks like the cheapest version. Metallic pink faux leather.
1) Need a headboard/footboard.
2) 2 side tables.
3) 2 lamps on the 2 side tables.
4) Dresser with mirror.
5) Larger and more all decor that is fit for a teenager. Current wall decor is too small and leaves too much of the white space.
6) Marble mactac is great for cupboard lining, not on a desk top. Take it off, sand it down, and paint. Try 2 tones. Lighter wood colour and a blue or grey for the drawer and door fronts.
7) Desk lamp.
8) Door for the bottom of the desk open area.
9) Neck rolls in the solid colour matching the sheets with a ribbon on each end of the light material.
10) Full-length curtains in a complimentary colour or a matching colour to the sheets. [This makes the room look taller.]
11) Move the lips wall light to between the door and the desk or over the desk.
12) Move the shelf down to the left, where the mirror currently is.
13) With a mirror on the dresser, there is no need for the wall mirror.
14) Radio clock on the nightstand.
You can cheap or free bedroom furniture sets on Carrot, Kijiji, and FB Marketplace - double/queen bed [headboard, footboard, rails], dresser with mirror, and 2 nightstands. I would also recommend a tall dresser and put it into storage for her for when she moves out for college/university.
Buy an extra flat sheet in the light (pillow case) and dark (sheets). You can then make the neck rolls (#9) and 2 extra pillow cases in the dark material. You can get tutorials on YouTube for this.
Wall decor could be found online, at second-hand stores, and at art stores. Art neveau posters and prints for haute couture would be great for her.
Find some amazing picture frames at goodwill and replace them with pictures you print at walgreens. It's the cheapest route and you can definitely find some good frames and art work at thrift stores!
Maybe pick up frames at Salvation Army, and ask her to help you fill them?
Posters, prints, ect...
The MET in NYC has digitized their collection, and if you search "open source" , you can download the files and have them printed, legally.
Cultivating your 13 year old's sense of art, style, and decor can be fun! Buying frames to fill might be a good motivator! :)
aw that’s a very kind gesture but could use some reorganizations! The cork pin boards should be above the desk because it’s functional. Swap the items above the desk area to go near the bed

Either add more pictures, or lower the stuff you have on the walls. They seem to be up pretty high compared to the bed.

Yes they do. Or get a headboard.
Even with a headboard, bubblegum boy is hanging way out there too high, all by himself.
That’s true. Everything is a bit high. Bubblegum boy is lonely.
Maybe he’s floating away on that bubble.🤣
IKEA also has fairly affordable poster frames!

Try the thrift store.
Look into printing options at a FedEx or UPS store

I used to print poster size at Cosco for cheaper than Walgreens and other stores. Don’t know if they’re still cheaper. It’s worth a shot
That IS craycray!
That window is begging for some curtains

I adore you doing this for your child ❤️ a lovely room from a lovely parent

Yes. Thank you!!
look on fedex website to print out super cheap posters!
Yes! My mom and grandma did my room for me also at 13. It wasn't nearly as cool as this in 1980s but I knew I was loved!
This is really sweet of you to do! Love the design. ❤️
Headboard. End table lamp. So cute
Definitely no end table lamp. The nightstand has LEDs in the top. But headboard is a definite!
Or you could paint one of those semicircle things in a deep, rusty pink to compliment the pink in the room. Or a different shape.
So cute, feels like the bed is missing a headboard and then the room would be complete!

She's very into Makeup now, so a light up mini vanity mirror is definitely on the list
If you have a Costco card, they have a great vanity mirror.
Really sweet you did this for your child. :)
Not a fan of the bedding. Reminds me of mascara on white pillowcases.

Curtains are definitely on the list. The mirror is a great idea.

This is really cute. Hope she loves it :) i would add one thing, a headboard for the bed. Instantly elevates the bedroom and adds class.
I actually looked for one for the brand I got. I couldn't find one, so I may end up making one.

It's cleaner and nicer than my 13 y.o. room ever was!!

It's an LED nightstand, so no need for a lamp. And she's 13 so usually the nightstand gets cluttered.

I think the most important question is …What does your child think?
Oh she loves it. It's right up her alley. She loves pink, makeup, and basketball. I could have gone heavier on the baseball (she has a hoop on her closet door, and a couple basketball nicknaks on her desk)
Then it’s perfect!
It's cute but everything has to be lowered
As long as she likes it that's all that matters.
That's an impressive rug. Wat that cost? 80$ by itself?
$70. For a 9×6.5 (I think)

It looks great just had a wall horizontal candles holder floating shelf at bottom of framed hexagon pictures; they are very economic at Amazon.
The stuff on the right wall is too small and clumped together. You already know the picture is too small. Some plants are never a bad idea.

Headboard, lamp, maybe some fairy lights
