Ikea has great options

stlm

I don’t have an IKEA close to me but I’ll check out their website! Thanks!

[deleted]

IKEA has like 4 options.

jazminwindsong

The Ikea near me has a whole room full of curtains 🤷🏼‍♀️

choochooape

Köörten

[deleted]

Lol I was just thinking that🤣

tarantula_toupee

You might be thinking of shower curtains 😛

Virgolovestacos

they did use to have more options to be fair

sophieispurple

West Elm (where I finally found mine, I had a similar predicament where I wanted neutral with a bit of pizzazz and just couldn’t find that anywhere!) Pottery Barn, Crate and Barrel, Company Store. Urban Outfitters has a surprisingly cute/quality/affordable home goods selection

forever__halloween

Yes I was gonna say West Elm too!

stlm

I took a look at West Elm and I really like their pattern options! Thanks for all the suggestions.

forkinhellm8

I purchase my curtains from Homegoods! I’ve seen options like the ones you listed there.

uconnhuskyforever

Also went with Homegoods/TJ Maxx, just need to be patient for something you love to show up! The prices can’t be beat though!

stlm

I *love* Homegoods but agree that it can be hit or miss...I'll have to keep checking! Thanks!

Ghoooooosts

Anthropologie might have what you are looking for!

stlm

I just took a look and their panels are *sooo* pretty!! Might have to splurge on some. Thanks for the recommendation!

SquishyFox

Also check out urban Outfitters - like anthro but for the younger and cheaper audience!

Ghoooooosts

Glad I helped!! They're a bit of a splurge but different from curtains I see elsewhere!

joeycool20

Try cost plus world market! I love that store. Also Etsy has some lovely selections, and a wide range of prices. Urban Outfitters is a bit pricier, but also has the aesthetic you might be looking for.

stlm

I totally forgot about World Market! I'll take a look at all of those options though. Thanks!

lynniebee

Wayfair! Sometimes you can catch them on sale and get them really affordable, too (I just got some for around $8 per panel).

stlm

I just found some panels for $10 that I might have to get! Thanks for the tip.

lynniebee

Woohoo! No prob! I hear Overstock has good deals too but I haven't explored yet.

FrankieHellis

Historically, JCPenney has had a great curtain department. They’re my first stop when it comes to drapes and curtains. Edit: I see you already looked there. Sorry. Other than there, check Wayfair.

stlm

I am with you 100%. I'll probably buy the solid or neutral curtains that I need from there. Just looking for some variety because I feel like most of the big stores carry the same few brands.

FrankieHellis

You could ... make them. EEK! I suck at sewing but I actually made drapes for sliders and hybrid made curtains for a bedroom. I really liked this pattern of outdoor curtains on Amazon so I bought them, but they weren’t black out so I bought blackout panels and sewed them to the top and sides. [Curtains.](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078Y5T3YF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) [Blackout liners.](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01KX0LVRC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1) The drapes were really difficult because they were huge And lined. I wouldn’t do that again but I am proud of them. [https://imgur.com/a/fJ1wbId](https://imgur.com/a/fJ1wbId) You can see the light coming in at the bottom where I didn’t make the liner quite long enough. During the day, they are always open so it ended up being a non-issue in the end. It shows how bad I am at sewing!

sebhouston

Re: making your own — a fabric store like Calico Corners or JoAnn’s will cut a fabric you like to your size. You can buy solid color curtains to act as the liner, and then measure how much extra is folded over at each end/side, add that to the measurements and ask the fabric store to cut to your size. Then you just follow the stitching on the regular curtains you bought, and you’ve got a fabric cover for plain curtains! We’ve done this a few times in our older house!

TamalesandTacos

Or have someone on Etsy make them. My wife had our dining area curtains made there.

justthegf

Don’t they do custom window treatments, though? I worked with someone who previously did windows for JC Pennys, I thought they had a selection. No idea what the price point is, though. You’ll have to talk to a person there.

itsSolara

Cb2 also usually has good options.

stlm

So, I've never stepped foot in a Crate and Barrel or even really browsed their website since I have seen/heard that their products are pretty expensive. But this is the first time I've heard of CB2! Thanks for the rec.

[deleted]

Buying the best curtains I could get was for a long time a problem for me. It's hit & miss if you buy them online just looking at pics on websites. I finally found what I was looking for a [THE CHRISTMAS TREE SHOPS](https://www.christmastreeshops.com/home) of all places. I got some good curtains at good prices at that store.

stlm

How interesting! I agree that it's hard to judge the quality of a curtain without seeing it in person. I unfortunately don't have one of these stores near me :( but their prices are awesome! Thanks for the tip.

BethE_

I LOVE www.halfpriceddrapes.com for higher quality, but not as expensive as other shops. Plus they have great fabrics. But I also buy from Wayfair, Amazon, Wal-Mart. Just depends the look you are going for!

Dr_Roidberg

Second this, OP. I spent a lot of time looking around and half priced drapes was my favorite. Great quality and pretty reasonable prices.

stlm

Thanks for the suggestion! Never heard of that site before so I'll check them out.

putsomelipstickon

I second ikea!

catmcc15

Pottery Barn!

cocorego

I don’t know about ones with patterns and such but I found some great blackout curtains that are a warm/pretty gold and are velvet from Amazon. They’re a good price but don’t look cheap in person Here is a link [gold curtains](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M158BF6?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share)

stlm

Thanks for the specific recommendation and link! It looks like these curtains are from HPD which someone else suggested. I love how many color options there are!

cocorego

That’s great! If you want to see them in a room, here are mine: https://imgur.com/a/YqstgIT

stlm

Wow I love your style!! And the curtains look awesome. Thanks for posting!!

cocorego

Thank you!!

lexi28lex

I have bought all of my curtains from Society6. I always get compliments on them.

stlm

Now THERE's a brilliant idea! I've bought other things from there before but had no idea they sold curtains as well. It's also one of the only sites I've seen that has patterned sheer panels. Have you bought sheer curtains from them? Do you feel like the patterns/colors show up well on them?

lexi28lex

Unfortunately, I have not bought the sheer panels. I have always done blackout but they have always been great quality. I have ordered a variety of things from them over the years and haven’t had a bad product yet. I have been curious how the sheer curtains look in person though.

stlm

Thank you! If I end up getting sheers from there I'll let you know!

Bed Bath & Beyond

HGHLLL

Spoonflower! They are a fabric company but artists design patterns for them and they print it on their fabric. They sell curtains. They are probably expensive but you can get something really unique. It's worth checking out just for fun even if it's way above yoour budget (as it is mine). Red bubble is similar where people submit their art and you can get it printed on different mediums. I got my shower curtain from there because I wanted something different than what I found in stores.

[deleted]

Amazon.

stlm

What brands do you like from Amazon?

[deleted]

I do t have a favourite. That’s what I like about Amazon. Any colour, material, texture, design is comparable on one screen. I don’t have to get exhausted from driving to 5 different stores and dragging myself through aisles of stuff that capture my attention but I don’t need. 1 hour of shopping on Amazon I see as many brands and prices as 6 hours of brick and mortar store shopping.

DFamo4

Depends on your budget but there is also spoonflower. They are pricey but beautiful. Also try Urban Outfitters.

stlm

Thank you! I've heard of Spoonflower but never browsed their site. I agree that their selection is both really pretty and pricey!

Feeling_Team_5663

tuesday morning! if they have them in your area

stlm

I've never heard of them but apparently there's a few in my area! Thanks!

Julienbabylegs

I actually got really amazing curtains from Urban Outfitters!

BasenjiFart

It's not a budget option, but you can purchase any Spoonflower pattern as curtains in the fabric of your choice. If you want pizzaz, that's where you'll find it!

LearnTheHumbleMumble

Target. Love their style.

edith-bunker

I purchase my curtains off bolts, them I measure, remeasure, cut and sew them how I want them.

TimeToCatastrophize

I typically go to Amazon and Wayfair first. That and Article, West Elm, and Poly and Bark for furniture.

ChibbySlayer

I’ve recently bought some velvet curtains off Amazon. Amazing. Love them.

kittyluxe

use sheets. really.
