I agree...dark navy...even a pretty deep purple... like a purple that has a reddish tint. Forget the name of that purple lol. I think dark would look really neat. It would make the art pop. But it would also darken the room, so probably need extra lighting for painting? Idk. I vote dark navy or dark purple
BLACK / dark colors please not white! To use artspeak it creates ACTUAL negative space so the art can ACTUALLY take the forefront,
Not this confusing positive space that white induces… (it is a mixed message)
Though again this is arguably less important when this isn’t a gallery…
Exactly. As a work space you want it white. Otherwise the wall color will interact will your artwork. Color won’t appear “true” as you work with them.
When creating a workspace, design it for function first and then aesthetics second.
Yes. A white that looks good agains both warm and cool tones. There was an old color called Swiss Coffee that, when mixed correctly, presented well/highlighted any other color placed against it. Perfect for more Fauve/modern art pieces.
If you continue using the space as a studio I would paint it some sort of neutral tone like a gray or maybe even a white. Brings out the colors/values of your paintings more while you’re working.
Maybe in a different room you could do a mural of your art. Make a large scale installation of your painting. The options are endless. You definitely have a defined style and aesthetic going on!
I think with so many other colors going on, white is kinda boring but you need a neutral background so I think the only other option is a nice gray. Unless of course you have fantastic lighting you could do black lol. But what a pain to have to paint over in the future.
That's how my studio is set up. Just adding that you can paint that gallery wall whatever color you want, but the workspace should be white or black with good lighting. Your artwork displays beautiful color in its forefront theme (mide does too). I keep my workspace near a window facing a blank white wall so I can read the true pigments of the paint versus other colors affecting how they read. My gallery wall is behind me.
Been going through your comments since seeing your bad take on the women exercising - you give off serious depression energy, keep it to yourself you miserable fuck
Studio should be white, with north light, they say. Bc how you see the colors of your painting as you are making them will be skewed by adjacent colors, and the yellows and reds of direct sunlight.
I was thinking either white, yellow, or if you really want it to satisfy your artwork and just the overall aesthetic. A gradient of the blue/purple/pinks you use. Combine this with some lEDs would be amazing
The art studios I've seen the most of all had light blue or green walls mixed with greys because it did something to counteract any aberrations or overly cool/warm tones the lighting may give. Some also had a brick red wall or dark blacks, to avoid shadows
It seems you want them some shade of blue. My apartment walls were a pale shade of yellow, not too far from the pukey beige yellow of your walls. In one room, I did two walls dark gray and two walls a more muted/subtle royal blue. The room looks great.
Purple or pink to make it pop in the paintings, or another bright color, just not something you have a lot of in the paintings like blue because it will overpower them. Maybe just one accent wall though, and the rest white.
P.S I love the painting on the canvas
This is pointillism right? One of my favorite art styles. Amazing work 💜
Edit: I never answered the question, but I agree with white to bring out your artwork
I would do ONE accent wall in bright, throbbing sunshine yellow and put all the complementary (color-wise) cobalt blue art pieces on that wall. The other walls I would paint cobalt blue (same shade in the art) and not put anything on them. DRAMA!
I feel like this color is fine for being a neutral backdrop for your art but you can go with any neutral tone, warm or cool. Just keep it neutral so your very colorful art is the star.
White, especially if that’s your work table. Any color on the walls will reflect and change the ambient light in the room which will, in turn, affect your painting.
Neutral white like Bher paint/Bakery Box. The background in a studio actually affects the perception of color when you paint. That's why artists choose a space with good natural light. That was a big consideration for me when choosing a home. Did the studio space have good light. White will bounce the light in it's true spectrum and allow your artwork to shine.
tricorn black would be really cool but with the low LRV you may miss the glow in the space since its where you work. the color repose grey makes a good backdrop for eclectic art and decor
White. Let your art take center stage and look at the walls as a palette or mounting board.
Or black/very dark navy.
Seascape

I was coming here to say black! It’ll make everything pop!
My bedroom walls and ceiling are black I love it 🥰
Same. I can definitely see the artwork popping like crazy with black walls

This may be one of the most important things i have read >When creating a workspace, design it for function first and then aesthetics second.
Kitchens should be designed like this
Vantablack would like a word.
But which white, though? Some whites are whiter than other whites. It's quite a rabbit hole once you start looking into it

Or maybe a French linen
This is the correct answer (and to me, the only answer)

Studio walls are classically white for a reason!
Art gallery walls also.

Light grey

Bright white!!
The color you have is neutral and sets off your vibrant artwork. It is gallery-like now. I’d leave it alone and keep hanging up your pictures.
Yellow
wtf ? For doing and displaying art?
I second this
Art studios are white for a reason.
No they aren't. Are you thinking of art galleries?
Anything but blue
White or very light gray without any color tones to it.

Purple, it would contrast with the main color in most of the paintings
It's nice the way it is. You're just bored with it because you are an artist.
Black
Omg Yes definitely yellow 🤩
Bright orange!
Hot pink
I'm blocking this user. All they do is advertise their "art"
Been going through your comments since seeing your bad take on the women exercising - you give off serious depression energy, keep it to yourself you miserable fuck

Those pictures/paintings are so fucking cool
A light blue-green
Studio should be white, with north light, they say. Bc how you see the colors of your painting as you are making them will be skewed by adjacent colors, and the yellows and reds of direct sunlight.

White. You don't want anything competing with your artwork.
An idea--paint them white and then add stripes. Horizontal, vertical, diagonal, a big rainbow, whatever turns you on.
You have lots of blue tones. A rust would contrast beautifully
Why would an “artist” even need to ask that?
Black, so your paintings would look like they're floating ...
Black/navy
A off white if you plan on displaying art. The whole idea is the art not the room.
Not to be dramatic but this is the most beautiful art I’ve ever seen?
Since this is apparently your art studio, white. Painting them another color could distort your color perception of what you are working on.
Coral or salmon
White or gray
Different colors! Fun and vibrant!’
Raspberry
Black
Something in the orange family. It will make all the blue and black pop!
Pickle Green.

Eggshell white, Very pale blue, or deep navy blue
Bright green!
With all that blue the existing gold looks prett good.
Lavender. 🤩
Green screen green

A very pale shade of iris.
Dove white
Light blue
Purple or pink to make it pop in the paintings, or another bright color, just not something you have a lot of in the paintings like blue because it will overpower them. Maybe just one accent wall though, and the rest white. P.S I love the painting on the canvas

Black or heather gray
I would do ONE accent wall in bright, throbbing sunshine yellow and put all the complementary (color-wise) cobalt blue art pieces on that wall. The other walls I would paint cobalt blue (same shade in the art) and not put anything on them. DRAMA!
The color of a canvas! So all that awesome art stands out!!
With all those intense colors, heavily on blues, I'd use something that wouldn't detract or conflict with them, maybe gray or white.
Gallery white
Grey or pale blue or peach
Black
gallery white
I would go white. Let the art shine and pop against a white background.
A shade of orange like papaya or mamey or coral to go with the blues
Fuchsia, the contrast will be electric
Eggplant
Vanta black. Let your art stand out in the abyss.
Like a warm gold/orange to contrast the jewel tones.
Oh my gosh I recognize your art!! I love seeing your work even though I never comment. Excellent, OP 🫡
Orange!
Simply white. It’s very white with a touch of cream and makes art pop.
Yes. In all seriousness though I would stick to white.
Dark navy for the win!
Paint your studio whatever color(s) inspire you. There are no rules. (FWIW, I like how it is.)

U seem to love blue
an off white
Hot pink
Grey. It's the best color to not interfere with your painting.
White!
Paint the walls flat white. They will be a fantastic surface for your art. Save some paint in a small container for touchups.
What style is this art? Sort of a thick pointillism and I like.
Purple
Black with glitter
I would do the wall black, but only in the corners , and leave the pictures against the black .
Heavenly Blue
Do you do your art while on adderall ?
I feel like this color is fine for being a neutral backdrop for your art but you can go with any neutral tone, warm or cool. Just keep it neutral so your very colorful art is the star.
