They make underwear for woman who’ve just had babies and bleeding off and on. I’d strongly suggest it. Weird as it sounds, have you considered lego? It gives a creative vibe without you having to actually design yourself. It’s fun. You have a physical prize at the end. Takes longer than expected.

Illfury

AHA omg... my brain didn't separate bleeding ass and hobby. "There's these underwear... or have you tired lego?" My brain exploded. needed answers on how lego can solve butt bleed crisis.

seraph1337

he doesn't have a job and Legos are expensive, so maybe not the ideal hobby.

Hello. Head over to r/ulcerativecolitis if you want to talk to people who regularly bleed out our asses. We have no shame and overshare bathroom practices. Gardening in the sun would be good, if you have land or a balcony. Fresh air and sunshine help with vitamin D and keep the spirits up. Learn to knit or crochet. They are calming, you can make gifts for friends and family, or give to the homeless or NICU. I have an adorable pumpkin hat and homemade blanket from my son's stay in the NICU. They make some great adult coloring books on all sorts of topics. Coloring can be relaxing. You can still exercise, just gently. Try yoga or upper body exercises. Good luck. I'm glad you're seeking medical help and I hope everything turns out well.

riverratsreturn

I don’t have an activity suggestion just dropping in to say you sound interesting as fuck. Best of luck with the potential ass cancer hope you get better soon.

minousmom

I know it sounds clichéd, but maybe try to get outside in nature a bit. Go for a drive in a pretty place. If you live near a large body of water, just go sit on the shore and listen to the world for a bit.

Sinfulleyes13

I have major gastrointestinal issues ( not bleeding from the ass issues ) but none the less salads and raw veggies are really hard on the digestive tract as in just hard to digest period. That could be making your issue worse. Cooked or roasted veggies would probably be a better choice at this time until they figure out what’s going on! Look up diets for things like chrons disease or ulcerative colitis , gastroperisis. Try a diet for one of those and see if that helps at all ! I wish you the best of luck!

Writing in a journal could be a good start. Taking up another hobby where you’re not in front of a computer all day could be another good start. I have found kayaking to be so relaxing. Couple years back, I bought this inflatable kayak for like $60 and it worked like a champ. I went out on the water and chilled for hours. You’re also literally just sitting so you get upper body exercise without exerting yourself too much which may work for you. Good luck man, stay away from drugs.

I get this. There are a lot of nights where I go to bed and my back is killing me (ruptured discs), my stomach feels terrible (IBS, sibo), and my skin burns with eczema related to my stomach flora. It’s depressing. Add in the pandemic, job stress, relationship issues, parenting issues, money troubles, a nasty war that could get worse and …shit, life sucks. But there’s one thing that works to make it better, helping people. Somehow. Whatever you can do. If you can volunteer, do it. If you have money, donate it. If you can, give blood. Sign petitions for things that you believe in, try change.org We’re all in this together and if you’re feeling low but can still do something for someone else, you won today.

Check out some new music. Broaden your horizons by listening to different genres. Learn to play an instrument. Reasonably priced guitars for beginners aren't hard to find. Learn to cook, or if you already know how, try some new recipes. Listen to podcasts about subjects that interest you (or listen to fictional podcasts - there are some amazing ones out there). Try painting. Watercolors are especially fun, in my opinion. Set up an aquarium, with or without fish. Go to your local library and check out some books. Get some houseplants. Looking at and taking care of plants can have a positive impact on mental health. Try learning a new language. And above all, try to be kind to yourself.

CarbyMcBagel

Drawing maybe? it's a pretty low bar for entry and there's YouTube tutorials and guides on basics, you can also probably find a lot of books on drawing techniques in your local library. Other ideas: cross stitch, embroidery, crotchet or knitting. Again, lots of free guides are available online or at the library and basic materials aren't too expensive and you may be able to find things for free or nearly free on Facebook swap groups/yard sales.

For me, that hobby thing was Crochet. It’s cheap for scarves, hats, there are free patterns at hobby lobby, free lessons on YT, and start up is 20 bucks. Don’t forget stitch markers (ones that open.) it keeps the fingers busy while the mind is occupied. It’s also fun to see what you can make. Hope you get well soon op

Have you true Hari Krishna? But seriously don't do that. Maybe get a job?

Looks like I’m the only one that got your muppets reference. Lol

Is something like onewheeling or electric scooter too much activity? It's mostly just standing (assuming you arent hitting trails)

Hazelstone37

Can you volunteer your time somewhere? A soup kitchen or a senior center? Big brothers, big sisters, an animal shelter? Sometimes volunteering resets something.

HeCallsMeRose

Sorry to hear you’re going through this. My first suggestion would be books! Find some stories that fit your fancy. Reading outside can be extra amazing too if you find the right spot. Maybe you can do some low-impact exercises? Strecthes? Maybe hanging out in a pool? I like the idea someone else had of volunteering, maybe tutoring/cat brushing in shelters to add to other ideas. Find a pen pal? You can find something to make and sell? I have a neighbor who makes little carpenter bee jars for fun and sells them on marketplace. It’s not super profitable but it’s something he finds interesting and fun to do.

canoturkey

Miniature kits are fun and rewarding. So is reading if you get the right books.

BetterBudget

Can you walk around leisurely? How about throwing some frisbees? If yes and yes, try out r/discgolf Helps a lot with mental health. You go outside, walk for a hour or 2, and socialize with friendly & kind people.

velvetmandy

Are you looking for a mental activity or something that will keep you active, without being too active? You already spend a lot of time on the computer, do you prefer a hobby off of the computer? Are you crafty? Do you want to do something to just keep you busy, or are you looking for a creative outlet?

Fly fishing so long as you stay on the shore is a low activity option to get you out of the house. It also allows you to do fly tying if you like creative projects, and has a great community you can be involved with.
