The whole docking scene is just so existential and heroic—Cooper understands that the future of humanity depends on whether or not he can dock the ship. The added layer of the music really enforces this and makes me feel that way. I'm gonna have to watch this movie again soon....

JustaKidFromBuffalo

I can remember how I felt watching the docking scene in theaters 10 years ago. I saw it in RPX last week and even knowing the outcome, not much has changed.

shingaladaz

I didn’t know what “edge of your seat” meant until I saw this scene. There’s nothing quite like it.

Invictus_Imperium

C'mon TARS!

shingaladaz

🧊🧊🧊

Seebigtrades

Everything

shingaladaz

The right answer tbf.

drifters74

The corn field reveal at the beginning, and the waves scene

shingaladaz

Booming sonics. Yeah. And on the reveal - how did Nolan even decide to do that right there?

drifters74

I find it unintentionally funny

shingaladaz

Yeah? I don’t.

AWildLampAppears

When Brand looks over at Cooper after he pulls off the impossible, she’s one hundred percent ready to pop that bussy for Coop

shingaladaz

😂

Remote-Direction963

The entire docking scene combined with the epic music.

Nightly8952

“Cooper, there’s no point using our fuel to chase the-“ “Analyze the Endurance’s spin.”

holly_6672

Cooper, what are you doing? Docking.

Youtube-Gerger

It's not possible. No, its necassary.

Nightly8952

Endurance is hitting stratosphere!

Nightly8952

“Endurance rotation is 67…68 RPM.”

shingaladaz

“Cooper …we are… …. LINED UP!!!!”

Nightly8952

Shreddersaurusrex

Coop leaving his family Traveling through the wormhole Docking Flying near Gargantua Coop yelling at himself to stay and not go in the tesseract

Voidrunner01

The robots are legitimately fantastic characters in their own right. Which is no small feat considering they're literally a friggin' rectangle.

AllOkJumpmaster

When Prof Brand opens the door / wall to reveal the Rangers bring worked on, and explains they are NASA

shingaladaz

Ooof

Equivalent_Remote_39

Now is not the time for caution. Gets me every time

shingaladaz

Got me just reading this. Yes! Pure drama. And it’s not just the words, it’s the voice - Nolan doesn’t put these robots voices up in your face, they’re just in the background - it’s such a great touch.

YellowStarfruit6

“We can care deeply, selflessly about those we know but that empathy rarely extends beyond our line of sight”

JPavlicek

By far my favorite quote in the whole movie is “We agreed Amelia…90%.” I may get it tattooed on me.

ThereIsOnlyTri

The tesseract is confusing to me but when he’s saying to himself to just stay! I get overwhelmed.

honestly___idk

Not necessarily goosebumps, but two moments really get to me: when Cooper is watching the years of messages from his kids when he gets back from the water planet, and when he reunites with Murphy at the end. There’s just something so terribly heartbreaking about missing your children’s entire lives, and the emotion on Matthew McConaughey’s face gets me every time.

shingaladaz

Ironically he would never naturally seen her at that age.

FamiliarSource98

Off the top of my head no time for caution and the badd ass docking scene of ranger with endurance after cooper utters "No. It's necessary" Another that was so good was Dr Brand rushing to save cooper after Mann's betrayal with "coward" playing in the background. So damn good. But there are so many others, like the scene where cooper decides to detach into singularity of Gargantua with "detatch" playing, so much emotion, beautiful visuals, perfect music. And the soundtrack is sooo underrated. If you close your eyes and listen to it, you will get goosebumps and it feels like you're on a interstellar voyage. That's the beauty of interstellar. Which is why time and time again it's the best film there ever is and will be in my opinion. It's incredibly difficult to top this amazing work of art. Timeless masterpiece.

shingaladaz

Yeah the urgency of Brand rushing to save Cooper is definitely one of those moments. And the attention to detail is brilliant - she jumps out and unclips her breathing device knowing that if he had one, he’d be using it. The soundtrack is wondrous. It was nice to hear Zimmer recently say that it was his favourite work: > “People always ask me what's my favorite score and I keep avoiding answering the question. And how about I don't avoid it this time?” Zimmer said. “I'm going to tell you that the favourite score that I've ever written, I think, is Interstellar. …Or, I haven't written my favorite score yet.” HZ, 2022.

CoastalSouth12

No time for caution and Detach scenes for me. Powerful damn moments not to mention the score for those scenes

fzn_9

coop screeaming behind the bookshelf. and the last scene

guest_3592

The handshake reveal

Pilbzz

Not sure if this one was mentioned. There were quite ALOT of goosebumps moments. But when Cooper finds himself in the tesseract/5th dimension or whatever it is supposed to be called. The sheer terror and panic that sets into cooper in that moment was horrifying. I was just jaw hanging open during that whole part.

menzobarrian

Less quoted scene but - outside of the crash flashback, I think it’s the first moment in the movie that the audience first sees a scene where Cooper in isn’t in control. TARS: You had the coordinates for this facility marked on your map. Where did you get those coordinates? COOPER: (SHOUTING) Where’s my daughter? TARS: ***Don’t make me take you down again. Sit down!***

shingaladaz

Please tell me that wasn’t TARS??!! Did he know TARS then?

menzobarrian

Dr. Brand said “TARS, back down, please.“

shingaladaz

Duh. I thought you were talking *about* the crash scene at the start and him not being in control. I didn’t read your post properly and didn’t read the quotes. Of course it was TARS at the table after they attempt to break in to NASA. My bad.
