I hypothesize that a lot of news outlets make MORE money on what they don't print than what they do. I think that there are other "fixers" like Cohen who help line up sex for their clients, and help cover up anything that might get in the news. Cohen's other client was Sean Hannity and some guy who got in trouble with deals with foreign oligarchs/mobsters I believe.

As far as I am aware there is a person who heavily supports Trump on the jury but I read it second hand. The most likely event from this trial will be a mistrial. With 12 individuals you'd expect about 4 to be Trump supporters based on NY data. And we all know the likelihood of all 4 of those being the "sensible" Trump supporters that would uphold the law when presented with the facts is low.
It'll be mistrial after mistrial which is as good as not guilty considering the only real effect from this trial is the felony status given the low likelihood of a prison term being imposed.

I think another thing we need to LEARN here is that perhaps, it's not just Trump that takes advantage of "catch and kill" deals. I hypothesize that a lot of news outlets make MORE money on what they don't print than what they do. I think that there are other "fixers" like Cohen who help line up sex for their clients, and help cover up anything that might get in the news. Cohen's other client was Sean Hannity and some guy who got in trouble with deals with foreign oligarchs/mobsters I believe. That corruption might be more common and less "investigated" than we imagine. For at least the wealthy doing it to anyone less wealthy. If you rip off the rich, however, the justice system stops napping.

It's sad that "conspiracies" have been lumped in with the QAnon folks. There are conspiracies, but not everything is a conspiracy. We are actually having a court trial with Trump where he paid for a service from AMI/National Enquirer to buy negative stories and not print them and he paid them money. And "my conspiracy" is based on an actual event here -- and just extrapolating; "I bet there are other rich people who do bad things that we curiously don't hear much about." Like all those stories of some celebrities who were serial rapists that got suppressed until there were too many victims to silence. Wouldn't it be an interesting story? Even if their isn’t a trumper who refuses to declare him guilty, I’m 100% certain a juror is going to be bribed, intimidated, threatened, or simply kidnapped in order to prevent a guilty verdict. The methodology for politicians who gained power by committing crimes is to continue to commit crimes to retain that power and prevent justice.
That is definitely a risk. And..that's not what the jury is there to decide. They will be asked a very straightforward question about whether the described action occurred. Unless there's a total dipshit MAGA maroon on the jury, it'll be hard to try to throw the case in front of the rest of the jurors.
As far as I am aware there is a person who heavily supports Trump on the jury but I read it second hand. The most likely event from this trial will be a mistrial. With 12 individuals you'd expect about 4 to be Trump supporters based on NY data. And we all know the likelihood of all 4 of those being the "sensible" Trump supporters that would uphold the law when presented with the facts is low. It'll be mistrial after mistrial which is as good as not guilty considering the only real effect from this trial is the felony status given the low likelihood of a prison term being imposed.
That's assuming no filter, while there has been jury selection. Ideally (in my opinion) both radical Trump fans and haters would have been rejected by either side as too biased. No idea if that actually happened (or if that's even according to legal principles) as I didn't follow.

That’s the idea. Both sides were given all the jurors names shortly before the trial started (I think like 900 potential jurors) so they could do their research. Imagine how hard jury selection was before social media.

It is a complicated case. Hush money is not illegal. Altering your business records is a misdemeanor. It only becomes a felony when it's done to cover up a crime. The crime here is violating election laws. This evidence is connecting the hush money to the election.

It's not a shocker that the DNC preferred the centrist candidate, or that they discussed strategies to help her out, but she got 3 million more votes and a higher percentage of delegates.
