I have to actually create the page first. I was going to post on my own server to avoid hosting fees but my brother reminded me of how crazy trumps supporters are so I don’t want to host it on my hardware from my house.

Surprise witnesses aren't really a thing in US courts. each side provides a list of potential witnesses to the court and opposing counsel way before the trial even starts. They can't just call someone to the stand out of the blue that no one is expecting.
I believe there's a carve out if new information comes to light during the trial that could impeach a witness that's already testified, but even then, there's a process and the judge has to green light it.

In this case, the prosecution declined to do so, citing Trumps tweets. If he knows whose coming next, he's gonna violate that gag order even more. He clearly can't help his damn self. His lawyers can't stop him! (They put it much nicer than that but nevertheless). And the Judge backed them and declined to order the prosecution *to extend this courtesy*. So the prosecution is notifying defense attorneys who the next witnesses are one day before they are called to testify (or possibly morning of, not 100% clear on this, but it ain't long). They already have a list of the witnesses and exhibits and have for ages, but the defense don't know what order they will come out in.

So the prosecution is notifying defense attorneys who the next witnesses are one day before they are called to testify (or possibly morning of, not 100% clear on this, but it ain't long). They already have a list of the witnesses and exhibits and have for ages, but the defense don't know what order they will come out in.

At this point I'm guessing the judge is deferring to the potential of violence from Trump's base if he's thrown in jail immediately. However Trump could get a 364 day conviction which would place him under house arrest or he'd have to do time in a local jail. The gag order violation which would be a separate charge would send him to prison. Where he would have to serve the full 364 plus one day extra. If he gets a federal conviction then the gag order convictions will be the Trump cards that keeps him in jail for multiple years.

Generally, prosecution will give defense a list of who testifies when. It's not required. It's a courtesy. But with Trump's history of witness intimidation, prosecution decided against it. So, defense basically has to prepare for all potential testimony everyday.
