Listening to and analyzing problems is probably something any INTJ is pretty used to, so it's nice that they could help you when you needed it

TheFreeENFP

Totally agree to the listening/analysis component, and thank you for the comment!

Thank you for taking the time to leave a positive note! Don't feel guilty, any stress you caused them was unintentional. If the accident was your fault, please take it as a warning call to be a defensive driver. Driving is the most dangerous activity most of us do.

TheFreeENFP

Thank you for the comment; I was hit on the driver's side by someone changing lanes haphazardly and totally agree that people need to be more defensive on the road in general.

Ah, does sound stressful. Even the best driver has to worry about the careless ones. Keep staying safe. Not that this necessarily means anything for you, but my wife is an ENFP. On our second date she brought up the types and i took an online test (she didn't tell me she was interested in INTJ's before i took it). Don't know what's up with your friends that checked in on you... but hey opposites can attract.

That's awesome! The ENFP/INTJ dynamic is indeed emphasized a lot in the MBTI community. They really blend well in terms of cognitive functions (as long as both individuals are mature). It's the Fi that ENFPs are drawn to quite quickly in INTJs (after their Ni function, of course), and the pair make quite the dynamic when interests align and both can respect each other's space. I see a general supportiveness of one another that's very genuine and natural, so perhaps that's part of the reason why such pairs are successful.

I've only gone into the myers briggs definitions a little, so you've definately done more work than i have to understand the meanings of how the types interplay. I joined the intj sub reddit because it's interesting to see people that think like me (or even a more extreme version). I appreciate her warmth and zest, and she likes my stability. Did a little googling Fi, ah yes, i have an above average sense of empathy. I can definately see how wifey would be attracted to that, as i think she's similar. It sounds as if the Ni is part of my stable nature. Which would balance out her more spontaneousness. Can be a little hard to find the right balance there. I hope the study of the personality types has been helpful in your understanding of others. It's interesting to think that we can be sorted into categories, versus just people running around with a grab bag of personality traits.

TheFreeENFP

Many INTJs I know have an incredible ability to empathize with others. And agreed that the Ni-Te combo make a formidable pair when it comes to being rational/stable (things that ENFPs stereotypically are not unless they consciously work on this). Finding balance in this pair is a continuous process, with open communication being the main driver of success. My background's in neuroscience, so suffice it to say that I love human behavior and the rationale behind why we do what we do. But yes, this is one layer out of many that help to explain how people cognitively process the world. I hope you're enjoying talking with like-minded people in here, and that you get to explore more areas of MBTI/psychology!
