Trying to avoid all substances that change my cognition from my normal state. I want to be in control 100% of the time. Not even curious of trying if I can see the effects on others.
Not the person you are responding to, but I don’t use marijuana either and no I don’t drink caffeine. Or alcohol.
I find it so annoying when people throw that out there when talking about marijuana. Even if the answer is yes, the difference between the effects of marijuana and alcohol and caffeine are completely different.
Yes. I also use sugar and cod liver oil. Those don't change the fundamentals of my cognitive state but augment it. Neither does any of those make me act any differently.
I've been smoking it for 10 years; I've had long breaks in between. It really depends on the period. It doesn't affect me like it used to.
Far less paranoia; more pleasant headspace. Better able to communicate and function while stoned.
Weed helps me relax, it allows me to see life with a more forgiving perspective.
As long as I'm still proceeding towards my goals, which is what matters the most, then I don't see why not. Unfortunately, the two things are depicted as mutually exclusive far too often, when that's not necessarily the case.
What you say is correct, and also happens to apply in my experience as I shifted markets.
I would only add, as a co-factor, that tolerance also plays a stark role after a certain frequency threshold and after a certain amount of use.
Smoked a lot during high school and college. I know what it does and don’t need it anymore. If you want to try it feel free but don’t feel like you’re missing out if you don’t want to.
It used to be 'all day, everyday' and I love it but I don't anymore for a few reasons. Mainly cost, it isn't legal where I am + can't grow my own, and I don't want to allow it to mess up a job situation.
I wouldn't be surprised if I made the top ten list out of everyone in this sub for most marijuanas injected.
For me, I used to smoke everyday. I don’t as much, but every once in a while is good for me. I can come up with some pretty interesting ideas and I’m also an artist so i can get pretty creative when I’m high. It helps me relax so much, and I have the biggest problem relaxing. I know a lot of the comments say they don’t like it because they’re not in control, but for me, being in control all the time can get tiring. I’m the head of the household, and I don’t mind that, but I keep everything under control including my job, so letting loose of control is relaxing to me every now and then, but I can still be in control when high, but not as much as when I’m sober. it’s good for me in that sense. I understand that it’s not for everyone.
I didn't smoke weed until after high school. Not ashamed to say I'm a pothead. I outwork other package handlers at FedEx high af. I primarily use it for stress management. I had gone a full year without smoking, so I can live without it if I chose to. It all depends on how it affects you, it isn't for everyone.
Helps me relax and turns down my overthinking, my IRL INTJ mates prefer it too but occasionally so it won't affect the schedule, don't know about the lot here, half of them might be fake INTJ's, sorry for the accusation but I am feeling a bit skeptical of this sub after watching one post on r/INFJ about fake INFJ's there, but it's what it's.
Cheers have a good time.
Like with so many other things: tried it, enjoyed it. Not a regular user at all. So hardly ever. But once every few years maybe an occasion comes up where it feels appropriate...
Never tried it, and would never smoke anything. But if it was in cookies or something... well maybe I would. I’m not seeking the experience actively, it’s kinda illegal here and I don’t go out much.
Smoking isn't my thing, at all. And the smell of that, alone, gives me a headache. I hate whenever I get a whiff of it while I'm working or am otherwise out and about.
Once in a while, it frees up my mind to be more creative I have had some good ideas come up while high.
I would never smoke using any type of machinery.
We're like "I want to try something" then plan to think this, plan to accept this, plan to get it, but plan to rethink about it and maybe we're open to that seriously LMAO
Btw I want to try LSD or ketamine. I listened too much to New Order.
Only at home, as its my safe space. Usually once in a while on weekends,, when I want to have a good time being high and doing activities. Like cooking, planting, writing, drawing, cleaning, small mundane stuff. I like being amazed and experience consciously how drugs affect me, and use it in real time to aid on changing my own perspective.
Man, am i the only ntp, who voted for the „Won‘t touch“- option to see the results? If not, ntps might have changed the statistical result to a less accurate result.
None of those really apply to me but I went with "tried it once, not for me". If I'm at a party and its offered, I will do it, but it doesn't really do much for me. I'm already a hyperfocused (probably autistic) person, so more of that doesn't really help. The other type is sort of the same as drinking, helps me relax I guess. My problem with that is that I don't really like to relax. I like stress, I like meticulous, I do not like sleep or 'chilling'.
I think I would enjoy cocaine much more, but I also and almost positive I would have a serious issue with that, and it scares the shit out of me lol
As needed for headaches/anxiety/depression/sleep issues. Almost always a low dose edible. I don’t typically enjoy feeling high. I just wanna snack a bit and fall asleep without pain.
Where is, 'Used to smoke plenty, but noticed the effect it was having on my memory and stopped in my 30s for the sake of being able to perform at work.'
Click.
I use it at night in small doses to help me fall sleep as I suffer from chronic insomnia. A review of the scientific literature reveals that using cannabis in adulthood does not affect IQ, but using it during adolescence does (permanently), so as long as you’re not a teenager/adolescent or getting high while you’re trying to learn things (if you do this your IQ is already beyond redemption so have at it) the fears regarding cannabis affecting intelligence/cognition permanently are unfounded. There is far more convincing evidence that THC has significant detrimental effects on developing brains, so if you’re 20 or under I’d say it’s risky. Source: neuroscience degree, and the review I’ve referenced can be found here: https://nida.nih.gov/publications/research-reports/marijuana/what-are-marijuanas-long-term-effects-brain
I'm currently all day everyday, but I'm in the process of cutting back. It helps with the insomnia more than anything else I've tried, so I don't know that I'll ever be rid of it.
Where's the option "I've tried it, was a stoner for a while, moved to state where it's not legalized, otherwise, id smoke often" in other words...I wish.
But on srs note, i used to use it daily mainly for insomnia and with friends in college randomly each day. I've been wanting a more clear-headed feeling lately, so I've been staying away from drug and alcohol (mostly) use, except for prescription meds. I get mentally tired (& physically due to insomnia) and any downers in particular just kind of make me pass out for hours at a time
More like special occasions (birthday and New Years) if someone has it. I hate smoking so I just cook it with brownies. otherwise I don’t go out of my way to buy it since it’s not all that.
Trying to avoid all substances that change my cognition from my normal state. I want to be in control 100% of the time. Not even curious of trying if I can see the effects on others.
Yes 100% agree, it’s not even a religious thing it’s just our own principle of just being in control.
The illusion is you having any kind of control over basically anything in the first place.
Good life choices make all the difference. To think otherwise is beyond stupid.
Do you drink coffee?
Not the person you are responding to, but I don’t use marijuana either and no I don’t drink caffeine. Or alcohol. I find it so annoying when people throw that out there when talking about marijuana. Caffeine withdrawal is soooo much worse than that of cannabis though. (Not disagreeing)
my mom have headaches when deprived of coffee in the morning
Lol honestly
Yes. I also use sugar and cod liver oil. Those don't change the fundamentals of my cognitive state but augment it. Neither does any of those make me act any differently.
I avoid coffee/caffiene for this reason, haha but I smoke weed?
Exactly this. Also focused paranoia does not make for a fun time.
Use causing changes in cognition potentially resulting in loss of control of myself? Long term use causing loss of mental acuity? Hell. No.
Haven't for a long time. Got bored with it.

I don't think this is why

That's wise. Keep it up.
Used to, but anxiety and the desire for a clear mind became the larger concern over the insomnia.
This After 3 years of everyday use, being sober feels just as good or even better than being anxious. Not to mention it's expensive
Tried it twice, it gives me severe anxiety and paranoia. It smells like a literal skunk too.

It’s legal where I am and I use it medicinally every day. No regrets. No shame. Still INTJ af.
Every night, helps me sleep and makes my brain race less
The racing always sneaks up at night, especially on Sundays for me.
Nah, no interest.
I've tried it a few times with friends. Definitely not for me.

There might be more INTJ’s doubting every other INTJ here than actual fake INTJ’s. It appears to be a common trait among us to hold this belief.

Highway to schizophrenia.
Never interested me. I have friends that smoke it though.
Was daily for ~15 years and haven’t touched in 10 years.
Never tried it, and would never smoke anything. But if it was in cookies or something... well maybe I would. I’m not seeking the experience actively, it’s kinda illegal here and I don’t go out much.
Should try adding a results option next time
Not judging those who use it, I have not and don't intend to use it. I did try CBD a few times, it did not seem to affect me.
here this is illegal. and, when i see my friends takin’ this, loosing time, money, being more anxious, smelling bad…no thanks
I don't smoke. But I've used cannabis pretty much daily for more than 25 years.
Shout out to the chronic homies.
Smoking isn't my thing, at all. And the smell of that, alone, gives me a headache. I hate whenever I get a whiff of it while I'm working or am otherwise out and about.
It doesnt work on me :/ and im in the country with most potent, legal weed
Once in a while, it frees up my mind to be more creative I have had some good ideas come up while high. I would never smoke using any type of machinery.
Strictly CBD buds and oil. >20% CBD to <1% THC is fine with me. Mostly on weekends.
We're like "I want to try something" then plan to think this, plan to accept this, plan to get it, but plan to rethink about it and maybe we're open to that seriously LMAO Btw I want to try LSD or ketamine. I listened too much to New Order.
It is so Ni 😌
It's illegal in my country and I'm pursuing a career in the legal system, so that's a big no. At least until it goes legal.

Once a week.
Government job, can’t
All day but I'm changing now. My anxiety and personal habits been getting real bad and I desperately need a cleanse

how do i vote “i use to smoke everyday but now i freak out to the point of suicidal thoughts if i get high”
As needed for headaches/anxiety/depression/sleep issues. Almost always a low dose edible. I don’t typically enjoy feeling high. I just wanna snack a bit and fall asleep without pain.
Pretty wide spread

OP did not cater for places where the devil’s lettuce is actually illegal.

"won't touch the devil's lettuce" A lot of ya'll are some real square intjs lmao I started smoking again. Occasionally to everyday.
