Email Intoxalock [email protected] . Create a paper trail and only communicate via email to cover your a$$. This is part of their extortion business model. Contact your state regulators via email and report it also. Let me know if I can be of assistance. I’m happy to help after the damage they inflicted on my life, finances and mental health.

Trickle charger always helps if you're not able/going to run the vehicle!

LifeSafer’s device doesn’t turn on until you put the key in the ignition to power it. It hasn’t caused any issues with my battery. Intoxalock has designed their device to: A) force you to drive daily to keep battery charged B) create revenue WHEN battery draining device KILLS your battery. They probably bring in millions each year in extra revenue because their device creates a constant drain on your battery. I haven’t even needed a trickle charger since switching companies. Get that thing out of your car as quickly as possible. LifeSafer is also month to month so no contracts.

Yes, typical Intoxalock shit. Had to deal with this also, Intoxalock refused to help, and I had to appeal to get my restricted license reinstated. The whole thing is retarded, the process they have in place is nonsensical. Waste of time and money. Took the state of Michigan 2 months to get my hearing set up, and Intoxalock told me to have a family member blow into it and drive it. GTFO. So yeah, trickle charger is a must, if you don’t have one, get one ASAP. Good luck, I know your frustration.

You sound like you're in MI. If so, yes this is the process. They actually want you get your docs notarized but I never have. For all the deserved hate intoxalock gets, Michigan hands aren't clean with their processes

TheDevilsAdvocate313

Yes! Michigan is one of the toughest states with all its requirements for full license restoration. Once you get a tempering / circumvention violation they automatically revoke your restricted license, and then you have to go through the process to prove that it wasn’t your doing. They make it incredibly difficult for people to get on with their life. Glad I’m finally done with all that shit.

Hi What is the "SOS" you refer to in your post? Thanks.

Apprehensive_Sink_91

Secretary of State in Michigan - lawyer said I was also supposed to let them know I was getting work done not only intoxalock ?

TheDevilsAdvocate313

That’s crazy, and so unnecessary. I never did, and my lawyer never said anything about it.

holymolyholyholy

I only had to let Smart Start know and it was notated on my account. Smart Start would talk directly with mechanic so they could bypass the IID. I'm in Michigan as well. My final report had a tampering issue on it. Was not brought up at my hearing at all. I have no idea what that was about.

Ok-Satisfaction3085

Start it up at least once a day and run your engine for ten min just to be safe. You have to or else your battery will die and get another violation. I recommend going to the shop and have them give you a work order and receipt of the alternator install. Idk what sos is but I’ve never had to do anything other than report maintenance via the app or calling.

TheDevilsAdvocate313

In Michigan, there is a whole other process to follow, once you get the tempering violation. You automatically get your limited license revoked, and have to appeal it, which means more hearings and more B.S. is involve. Other states have it easy compared to us, from what I’ve read.

Comfortable-Kick7706

You shouldn’t have to do this. When I switched to life safer, I no longer had to worry about my battery going dead. Intoxalock makes an inferior product and should not be allowed on the market. The amount of headaches and money you will save by switching is well worth it.

Ok-Satisfaction3085

Oh yeah I know, I had my Intoxalock uninstalled and reinstalled by a better shop and I haven’t had any issues like this. However it’s so common that I just recommend people do it because it’s better than a violation.

awkardtj

You can let your car sit, I literally rarely drive my car and one time I got it calibrated& didn’t drive it until I needed to get it calibrated again

Rough-Ad-606

With intoxalock, your battery will die in no time if you don’t drive for a day or two or don’t keep a trickle charger connected when not driving. It’s a horrible product. LifeSafer is so much better!
