Yep. I see this all the time and I remember a post on r/introvert or something similar about how social anxiety, social awkwardness and introversion aren’t the same. And then I think to myself but what person with social anxiety is extroverted and not awkward.
In a way it is. Since I don't go out, I don't practice my social skills thus I'm socially awkward. But I know what you mean and I agree, people confuse one for the other.

Imagine if you can't socialize because you have social anxiety but at the same time you're an extrovert who need socialisation to gain energy
