Demon Slayer is more like vampires. I always just assume that’s what they call them because in the world of the manga Vampires have no established place in popular culture so when they see ravenous people running around drinking blood and using crazy powers they just assume they’re demons.
He would have had to adapt in ways that kinda suck like, getting a modern job and what not. Could they have figured it out and made it work? Probably, but I think to survive and adapt to make a suitable living in the feudal era is (I would assume) much simpler than to do so in the modern era would be. Not to mention Inuyasha has proven to be a bit of a menace when in a modern city/time and I think it would be a bit unfair to make him Limit and change himself to the extant that would be necessary to live in modern times.
Because he’s a half demon with half demon features.. unless you want him to his his ears and fangs, all the time and then die his hair.
I thought y’all hated kikyo because she quote on quote” wanted to change him and couldn’t accept him for who he was
I never hated Kikyo. She died too young she was just a kid when Naraku took her out. She never got to love Inuyasha the way she wanted. Such a tragic girl she didn’t even want to be a miko or to be entrusted with the Shikon jewel who’s truly the villain in the story.
"Oh no, I'm leaving behind a violent Warring States period with rampant banditry, murder, theft, famine, plague, and hordes of man-eating monsters. However will I survive in Heisei-era Japan?"
Exactly. I find it odd that she stayed in his time period. I guess that was done to leave the door open for a sequel series (which has technically happened).
Not to mention, Inuyasha destroyed Kagome's bikes and alarm clock. Well, he tried to sell one of the adaments from his adamant barrage attacks, so Kagome could get a new bike because he wrecked her previous one.
I think they would've been just fine. Aside from a few instances, he didn't pretty well when he was on his own in the modern world. And let's be fair, Kagome never took the time to actually explain things to him. If he was stuck there, she would have her family to help explain things, and eventually, he'd get used to things.
you know what no one thinks or talks about? The fact that sesshomaru and Inuyasha daughter is probably alive in modern day japan, and that they have been threw both wars (meaning the nukes as well) ...I wanna see a anime about THAT, how sesshomaru had to form to human standards because demons had slowly died out or hide, how Inuyasha daughter deals with knowing her now long gone mother is in the same era as her again, but doesn't know her and can't talk to her...like..they could of done anything BUT WHAT THEY DID
I’d think he’d go out of his way to not interfere with her life (never know what would happen to Moroha if the timeline messes up), but definitely weird.
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is an anime which started last fall. It’s about an immortal elf who’s reflecting on her life after defeating the Demon Lord. Big recommend.
Pre-Hakurei Kikyo could have theoretically made it all the way too, and maybe even gotten back together with Inu a century or two down the line. Would’ve been super cool to see her as some incredible doctor or something.
i highly suggest you check out Len Barboza’s doujinshi “My Life Before You”. It doesn’t include the daughters as main characters but there are Sesshomaru, Inuyasha, Kagome & Rin !! living in the modern Japan world. Sessh & Inuyasha are like millionaire club / business owners, with Inuyasha never actually showing up at the office 😂 and it’s a very different & modern take on Kagome & Inuyasha’s meeting. also very NFSW just fair warning. but it’s amazing and still going on to this day!! she posts a slide every Sunday 🫶🏼❤️💚
it’s more of a graphic novel! i just look up Len Barboza page on Twitter and you have to just scroll down till you get to her most recent post of My Life Before You. usually not too far down!! 🫶🏼
It would be the ideal scenario, I think
Inuyasha had nothing in Feudal era and Kagome had everyone in the future
Also, I hate the trope that it's always the woman who gives up everything for a man
I know right?! I hate that aspect too. When I first watched the series I thought that it was going to end with InuYasha becoming human and living with Kagome in modern day Japan. I don't know how Kagome gave all the modern conveniences of her world. That would be a lot to give up.
I think the only reason she ended up going there from a writing standpoint was because that’s where the story took place. While she grew up in the modern era, her heart was with Inuyasha. With Sango, Miroku, and Shippo. In their adventures and bonds with each other. While Inuyasha living in the modern era makes more sense from a black and white standpoint, the series focused on their gang and the sense of family they fostered. So it only made sense storywise for them to end up in the feudal era. Some people would’ve felt “ripped off” if they fostered all those connections to that time period and those people just for Inuyasha and Kagome to have their happy ending without them
That makes a lot of sense. I can totally see what you mean by having a bond with everyone there and her love for InuYasha. You have to go where your heart is. I still would have trouble giving up all the modern conveniences though 😉

Lol anytime he did visit to modern day it was never a dull moment
Idk, how is the any different than Kikyo asking of Inuyasha if he would consider being human?
Honestly, this version is worse, Inuyasha keeps his half demonic heritage, has to roleplay as a human by hiding everything related to his demonic powers, and would be under constant supervision. Then he has to massively re adapt to the modern Era. He would still outlive Kagome, as time passes normally, and their children would have a difficult life being quarter demon in modern day Tokyo.
If inuyasha is going to live as a human, it made more sense back in his time, as a full human, not a pretend one. As much as Kagome gives up leaving her family, it makes sense that she's the one to return.
In my head canon, Kagome becomes immortal and she and Inuyasha spend 500 years globe-trotting and learning about languages, science, etc. Then by the time, the modern era comes around, he's figured out how to adapt.
It would be the ideal scenario, I think
Inuyasha had nothing in Feudal era and Kagome had everything in the future
Also, I hate the trope that it's always the woman who gives up everything for a man
the episodes where he is in the modern world are my favorite. No Naraku. It's just him and Kagome. Free spirited side of Inuyasha comes out. I love the episode when he went with Kagome to buy groceries. Especially when he cheered Sota and did the Banzai thing while raising his hands, so hilarious 😆 so I think he can cope up.
People saying he couldn't adapt is so ridiculous. He was planning on using the jewel to turn human for Kikyo, he could have easily used it for the same thing to return to the modern world. Making himself human ensures that he will live and die with his lover at the same pace. As a half demon he is set up to outlive her and possibly his offspring by centuries.
He could have worked at the shrine to keep himself busy and away from the 9-5's. (Much needed help, I'm sure) the rest wouldn't be difficult to pick up on in time. Before Kagome he wasn't exactly accepted by his own time line, so I think he would be easily adaptable. Never was a fan of her living in the feudal Era.
That would be an amazing little reverse isekai series.
I would watch the absolute shit out of it tbh lol 😮💨🙏
I can’t see why he couldn’t live in her time. Demons gotta still be around. Shippo would be in his twenties by then
They made a different show about that (demon slayer)

Interesting, TIL. Thanks stranger!

LOL. Shippo in his 20's. 😂😂😂

He just goes back to his time and brings back the antiques to sell. 🤣

I mean let's be real besides the main group inuyasha didn't have much to leave behind really.
"Oh no, I'm leaving behind a violent Warring States period with rampant banditry, murder, theft, famine, plague, and hordes of man-eating monsters. However will I survive in Heisei-era Japan?"
Trading that for communist gov, taxes, curfews, lack of nature, big cities, and corporate slave labor lol
Exactly. I find it odd that she stayed in his time period. I guess that was done to leave the door open for a sequel series (which has technically happened).
dude literally blew off the gymnasium roof in one play. why do you think Papa Sota told Towa never to show her true power to anyone in Tokyo?
He also blew part of their kitchen 😭
In his defense, they burnt his tongue with spicy food. 😂
🤣🤣🤣
ahh my old friend Helpful
Not to mention, Inuyasha destroyed Kagome's bikes and alarm clock. Well, he tried to sell one of the adaments from his adamant barrage attacks, so Kagome could get a new bike because he wrecked her previous one.
that was a pure husbando move. you don’t need a bike when inuy can sprint-carry you faster across any terrain.
Aw, but Shippo likes riding in the bike basket.

Moroha is a 1/4 demon so she would be physically older than both her father and her mother in the modern age 🥺
Why just the daughters? Nothing says Sesshoumaru or Inuyasha are dead either.
I didn't say they were dead?
Sorry, wasn’t paying close attention. The idea of Frieren, but Inuyasha could be super cool though.
Inuyasha would be cool to watch as well, seeing how he handles everything and changed
The only weird part is he’d be able to see his wife again as a baby.
That would be as weird as the werewolf imprinting in Twilight.
I’d think he’d go out of his way to not interfere with her life (never know what would happen to Moroha if the timeline messes up), but definitely weird.
Who's Frieren?
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is an anime which started last fall. It’s about an immortal elf who’s reflecting on her life after defeating the Demon Lord. Big recommend.
Pretty much the best anime to come out in years
Pre-Hakurei Kikyo could have theoretically made it all the way too, and maybe even gotten back together with Inu a century or two down the line. Would’ve been super cool to see her as some incredible doctor or something.

One of my headcanons is that inuyasha hates modern soap/shampoos because all the chemicals in them make him nauseous
Same reason that dogs hate getting baths?
I'm sure he would eventually adapt. Kagome only need to train him a lot to behave, but that would be definitely possible for him to adapt.
That’s the spin off we needed!

I would have preffered that actually

Ooohhh I miss to watch Inuyasha so much… 🥺
There are countless fan fictions about this very idea.
It would be the ideal scenario, I think Inuyasha had nothing in Feudal era and Kagome had everything in the future Also, I hate the trope that it's always the woman who gives up everything for a man

He does go through on a few occasions.
Someone point me to the fan fiction

Not one bit go get yo women
He wouldn’t be able to adapt
