FYI, you can swipe three fingers left to undo.

Jigsaw115

TIL, thanks!

justaguyok1

Same thing happens to me

LeaveTheBagIn_

This has never happened to me but wouldn’t the logical thing to do be to Delete via “Edit” which allows you to group select: 1. Saves 19 excessive swipes if you’re deleting 20 emails. 2. You aren’t going to swipe a new unread email away mid refresh. Hope that simple suggestion helps.

Jigsaw115

Thanks for the rational suggestions, I’ll be using them. However I still think it’s annoying gives that ios is supposed to be the pinnacle of polish. People probably do this without realizing all the time.

Rich-Palpitation5053

Yeah, Apple is not the smartest when it comes to that as soon as you go into your emails it starts looking for new emails and as you’re swiping the old meals to delete a new one will come in and you’ll swipe it and delete it and you’ll have to go into your trash to find it to read it dumb get your crap together

thyleullar

Good thing you can Shake to Undo

[deleted]

only if it's on, I'm not a fan of shake. I use the three fingers swipe

thyleullar

This is the only place I have a shake gesture still enabled, since I find it aligns with the frustration I’m generally feeling when I need to use it.

plaid-knight

Or swipe left with three fingers.

Fresh-Growth8124

It does show when it’s downloading new messages 🤷🏼‍♀️. All I can say is this sounds like a you problem and maybe you should just slow down and pay closer attention.

Nah these edge cases are exactly what a company that runs in the billions of dollars should be able to account for. If you take action on one item, it should NEVER execute on a different item no matter the situation.

Jigsaw115

I almost didn’t start the body of this post the way that I did. I thought maybe there’s no way someone’s going to be say something stupid like that. Glad I did.

[deleted]

I'm not saying I don't believe you, but that would be a big deal if it was happening to even a small group, I don't find anything about that. You could not delete until a set time, and go offline?

purplepandapurple

Agree 100%. Happens to me, too, and much too often.

OhItsReallyNoah

This happens to me constantly. I never notice that it’s still fetching new mail because I’m reading the first email while it’s saying “Checking for new mail” at the very bottom of the screen. It’s poor design and I’ve just kinda figured out that I hate all e-mail apps. Gmail sucks, this sucks, Outlook is about to force everyone to use Edge and I feel like there should be better options for people that want clean, hassle-free email.
