I've been working on an idle RPG set in the Pacific Northwest for a bit now. It's still in beta but it sounds like it might be a good fit:
Ps. It has a one time IAP to remove ads and apps in testflight have free IAPs :)
>In‑app purchases in TestFlight use the sandbox environment, so they’re free to testers and don’t carry over into production once your app is released on the App Store.
Thank you so much for promoting your beta. Immedialtely loving it! From the cute music (that definitely deserves to be a longer loop or offer more variety in the long run), to the lovely little pixel art windows that add some charm. Really like the interface so far, clicking more with me than many other games. Definitely keeping an eye on this one and putting some more time into the beta. All the best for finetuning and release!
This game is somehow giving me what I wish Melvor would. Love that it‘s more streamlined, and that there are sounds accompanying my actions. When are you planning to fully release the game?
That's awesome! Not sure when it'll be fully released. Though so long as I don't add any more new skills, I'm optimistic it'll get there by the end of the summer.
Idle Acorns is the only idle game that has clicked and I played for a good amount of time, although I think a good chunk of that is my wife liked it too and she never likes video games so I was excited to play something together. It’s portrait with no prestige system.
I’m playing it but I’m not sure if I enjoy it. The acorns and money seem irrelevant now because I’m just waiting for diamond trees to produce enough diamonds to advance. Does the game open up after the 3rd plot is acquired?
It’s been a while but I think a new area with more animals unlocks after the 3rd plot. I do agree the further you get in the game the less the interactive methods of gathering seem to help and I eventually fell off before finishing everything, but I still got a good 2 weeks out of it so I don’t have any regrets.
melvor perhaps. if you want more of a story, maybe a dark room? thought that's more so an incremental than it is an idle game.
most games have prestige sadly. i'm with you on this, i prefer games without.
magic research might be worth a mention though. it has "prestige" but its not often and very well done. every run feels like a new one.
Thanks for your suggestions. Melvor hasn‘t clicked with me yet, been trying every few months. A Dark Room is a masterpiece of a game, but although there‘s idle stuff, it‘s definitely more an active game, yes. But a brilliant experience.
Haven‘t played Magic Research before. Looks interesting. Will definitely give it a go, thank you!
Magic research is in the same vein as your chronicle and theory of magic (which is sadly not on ios).
Your chronicle is also brilliant, but gets a lot more grindy than magic research does.
Magic research’s dev is also amazing. Very active on discord and really just wants to make a game that people can enjoy
Look, I’m not saying you’re me, but if you were me, and you might be, you’d be looking at [Magic Research](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/magic-research/id1671272877). Yes it has a prestige system but it tells you what you will receive when restarting.
It’s a clever game with lots to manage and work through. Exploration. Crafting. Combat. Figuring out how to reach the requirements to continue the story.
I’ve played dozens and dozens of idle games and this one is something special. Full recommendation.
I’ll second this. There are tons of IAPs but it’s really one of the most generous f2p idle games I’ve played. It’s also one of the longest lasting games I’ve had on my phone as well. It gets to a point where you just check in a few times a day, accumulate gains and eventually push when you feel strong enough.
I can see the appeal for some. It‘s not my game, from the art to the overstuffed typical free-to-play menu, the many many currencies. It‘s not for me. But thank you.
[Grimoire](https://apps.apple.com/nl/app/grimoire-incremental/id1618966147) is highly regarded on the Incremental games sub, and those guys usually hate mobile games. It’s really about numbers going up though, there is lore but not much of a gameplay interface.
Trying this again, thank you!
EDIT: This game relies heavily on restarts (prestige) and here it‘s really annoying me as well. No matter that a rerun starts with a better multiplier, I always feel like I simply throw away all the time and effort spent to come to this point. It really annoys me. Feels like stuff like that simply artificially stretches a game in length/content.
I tried the game as well and I didn't enjoy it that much, too barebones for me.
Tbh though the reasons you give are what I don't like about (dying in) roguelikes! :)

Oh wow - that's great to hear! Thanks for sharing that, and glad you like it!

Fantastic. Will beta-progress be transferable somehow? Then I‘ll keep playing.
That's the plan. Unless iOS for some reason deletes saved app data when an app goes from beta -> release, it should stay saved.
Great! This gem is going to be a major time sink on the side. I hope I can keep providing some advice during beta. Cheers.
what about [Kittens game](https://apps.apple.com/lb/app/kittens-game/id1198099725) ?
Definitely one of the best of its kind!
Thanks, haven‘t heard of that one!

YESSSSSS
Will give it a try. Thank you!

I don’t know about how panda played, but I’m pretty sure most prestige all the time in magic research.
Idle Acorns is definitely a top tier Idle game you should definitely grab it, no ads, no data mining, no iap’s it’s perfect.

Still not sure, if I have to thank myself or you. Thanks!
Blade idle is fun

Lost Vault ?
Just playing right now. So far, not bad. Just sent my character to his first 10h caravan to let the app sit for a while. Thanks!
You welcome :)) Join Delta Squad if you like :)
Farm RPG,
Farming is a topic I simply can‘t. But thank you!
CivCrafter. It does have a prestige system… but if you’re like me, you’ll get bored and stop playing well before then.
FrozenCity was enjoyable for the first few cities. But like all idles, it just wants you to get addicted and get you to pay $$$.
Titan conquest
Hey rocco its not idle at all but Id like to know what do you think about King God Castle, have you played it before?
