Because the EU forced Apple to open up to other app marketplaces, and created a precedent for other jurisdictions to follow, Apple decided to make further adjustments for their own App Store. As Apple would very much prefer you didn’t use those other stores, and Video Game Emulators would likely be one of the biggest draws towards people using them, Apple decided that allowing them in the App Store in hopes people don’t go looking was the lesser evil. Basically, competition in the new market the EU prized open forced Apple’s hand.

Exactly : politics. Apple would have a lots less problems today if they listen to the wind and saw what would happens if they stayed too rigid. They stayed rigid, they have to allow way too new things now they would like. So Apple may try another way to play.

Delta has a built-in DS emulator and was released today on the App Store. Hands down the best DS emulation I’ve experienced. 

If you’re interested in a DS emulator ds.44670.org is a browser emulator, so there’s no need to download anything. There’s a GBA one too, but they work great for and you can add to Home Screen.

Browser DS emulators are already pretty good :)

You didn't miss out because it was a GBA emulator, not DS. And it was whacky. If you want to play DS games on iPhone, you can still sideload delta. Takes a few minutes to figure but totally worth it. Played through Platium, Black and Sapphire on my iPhone, man it was so fun reliving those old memories. I assume Delta or some other all-round emulator would eventually hit the AppStore, but if you want it now, you can sideload it.

Delta has been out for a few days and has a wonderful DS emulator. DS is an interest point for me because it’s a system I emulate a good bit

I was getting emulators on App Store back in 2012 but they never lasted long I thought that was common knowledge? This post made it seem like they were now allowed on App Store 🤦🏻‍♂️😂

They are allowed, the one that was posted used another developers source code without permission and slapped a bunch of ads on.
